Thanks for the info OP.
I've finnaly managed to rebind the keys.
however I do feel that it need to be mentioned that if the key that you are trying do bind is already bound to another
command, you won't be able to bind that key until you rebind the other.
Which lead me to some interesting situations, were I found that the PC version, aparently have a "chat" option..
bound to the letter T.
so I had to rebind that one.

anyway.
I think this should be allow in any game, especially on PC.
we don't need this nonsense of one key doing 5 different things. it's insane.
And I think it's sad that they don't allow this from the start, in the actual game, it doesn't benefit the game , it actually show how much the developers are interesting in the confort of the players.
It doesn't matter how much time it would take to create an interface so that you could change the keys in the actual
game, they should have done that, so that the player could decided how best they could play the game.

Not really sure. If the 'shared action' command has it in there so you can erase it (and add a separate command for it), I would imagine so.

Well technically, forward and backward rolling are on the same command as Cover (TapAction), while sideways rolling are on PressAction.
If I recall correctly, anyways...

I'll be curious to see the end result though, if anyone bothers to mess around with it.

This is truly useful info, it's greatly appreciated! I've already tested it on one of the machines I play ME3 and everything work just fine. I use the key "E" (first changed it in-game). Also FOV 100 is noticeably more comfortable for my eyes :).

I'm glad it helped! :)

I made this short video to demonstrate the difference between 100 FoV and 70:

Split screen maybe wasn't the best idea but that's what I could come up with using my non-existent video editing skills :). If anybody is interested I could upload both original video files separately.

Well I think the top half should also show the bottom half of the screen and then it would show the difference quite properly. Currently you can't see anything :P

I appreciate your effort into this. The 'universal button' did seem a bit overkill and is sometimes bothersome to run past a wall only to dive into cover instead.

Perhaps your solution could be worked into a patch that would allow PC players to split the functions up to different keys?

I doubt that, unfortunately. Even though it could be user-friendly and people would love the customizations, but oh well.

Yeah your solution is simple and brilliant - the difference in FoV before and after the zoom is very clear and distinct

Yeah, there was an update, so the Coalesced got overwritten, so the changes had to be reapplied.
Happens with autoupdates, but that's an acceptable nuisance in contrast to what you gain in terms of gameplay experience.

I want to add that a comfortable "Field of View" value depends on several factors. Some of them are the monitor's size, DPI and ratio. For example I play ME3 on two machines. On the computer with 17" 1280x1024 (5:4) display I've set different FoV value than on the one with 24" 1920x1080 (16:9) monitor.

But most importantly it's everyone's own unique perception - which is highly subjective. Thus it's a good idea to test various FoV settings in order to achieve the most suitable value.
