I did the install before i even started messing around so yes.
Tried both ME3Coalesced-latest and Mass Effect 3 Explorer. The code is correct but for some reason the game refuses to use it. All this started after patch 5. With patch 4 and prior it was ok. Even using the same bin file i used with patch 4 (fov 100) did not work :o

I don't know what you mean by "I did the install before i even started messing around so yes". The thing is, something must have gotten messed up so you have to repair the install. This will replace you bin file with a fresh, up-to-date one. Then you redo the changes to your bin.

Also, what exactly doesn't work, your whole game? Just the FoV change?

By install i mean i deleted the whole ME3 directory and let Origin download a new one. Including DLC-s. Up to 15GB of content. Coalesced.bin is up to date. I even asked a friend of mine to send his file and i compared the hashes. It matched. I will do some comparsion screenshots with the fix and without it but as far as i see theres no difference. Also ill look into my savegames. Perhaps something has gotted screwed up in there and thats why the fix is not applied. I also tried a program meant to change fov in a lot of games. I think its called widescreenfixer or something. Even that was unable to force custom fov. Im just saying this is very bizarre.

I've been using this method just fine. However, when the new DLC dropped today, Feb 26, this wasn't working for me anymore. Anyone else have this problem as well?

As I recall, each time there is an update or change of any sort you have to re-edit the file.

Yup, updates and DLCs replace the c.bin with a new one. You have to redo your changes.

Has anyone tried playing the Talon merc with an edited coal?
It absolutely refuse to work. Shift which was my spring key brings up menu, the melee I mapped on my middle mouse click goes back to the default F.

But every other new dlc kit is working perfectly. Just finding this really weird and looking for a solution.

Not to say that the Talon merc isn't broke to the core.

Yeah thats the bug with Talon that it resets your mapped keys. Among other things. Personally i wont play this character until next week when they (hopefully) fix the key remap and talent point bugs.

That's sad. I really want to play the kit, but I just cannot. Literally.

Hope they'll fix him next week. As of now he is surely broken.

This is a great guide, but unfortunately has one flaw. If you remap your "use" key, you can't run with the pizza. I suppose you could run and spam T, but that would be a bit of a hassle and require you to take a finger off the movement keys. If you could get it down, however, you would have a near perfect run with no accidental dodges (those of slow fingers), or cover entering.

That's exactly  what I do, so I never thought too much of it :P

So you're saying the key should be 'B' or 'N'?

It's actually much easier to run with the pizza for me. Though I use R for use. A little adjustment of the fingers and you're good to deliver.^_^

No kidding, I'm not even willing to play with 70 FOV anymore. I  use like... 120, I think?  I have a really wide monitor, so 70 is a pain.

Yeah i use 120 too. Bit of an fisheye as it distorts everything off center but the tactical advantage is too good to pass up.

I use 100. 70 is almost intolerable. Thankfully "almost" because you have to use 70 in SP or things get really wonky.

The PC_Use key edit does not seem to work on the Talon Mercenary (all other characters are ok)...anybody know how to fix this? I already made sure to put the ( Name="E", Command="PC_Use" ) entry in sfxgamemodedefault/bindings...

Okay I think I found part of the issue.

I did this from the original post:
"On an added note, it makes your control more efficient if you also remove "Exclusive Used" from your Shared_Action command - thus you should not start reviving your teammate when you're trying to dodge rockets and stuff."

All my other characters are okay with this, with the E key being utilized for PC_Use. However, since the Talon doesn't seem to recognize this, I put the Exclusive Used term back into Shared_Action. Even though I can't use the E key on the Talon, at least I can revive teammates etc using the default Spacebar key now. Oh well, better that than not being able to revive or activate objectives...because I love trip mines and it would be sad to avoid playing the Talon.

So, you're saying if you put the Used back on Shared_Action, then you can access it via the Space bar?

In that case, that would mean that the Talon glitch overrides the new command distribution (PC_Use being a new command on the key of 'E'), but that would also mean that if there's a command bound to a specific key, and the command itself is a macro that branches into different results based on the event (for example OnTap, OnPress etc for SharedAction) then it stays on the key.

Maybe if I recall correctly, Ctrl has "Walking" on it, with by default it's EnableWalking, and OnRelease DisableWalking. If you overwrite that to be Used, I think Ctrl could act as a "Used" button that works even while using the Talon.

This is a hypothesis, though.
