Nope!

If you leave it there, Space will still be able to function as a 'Used' command as well (via Shared Action), but "T" will also function as a "Used" command (via PC Use), without the ordeal that comes with the "Shared_Action".
Exclusive means (I think) that if you're not pressing any other keys with it. It doesn't mean that's the only one that can invoke the command.

Ok I think I found why it wasn't working, my OS is French and it seems 00000409 is for qwerty keyboards, my real keys are stored in 0000040C (which is probably for azerty).

Oh, right, the localized binding is different for you.
That's a note I'll have to add to the guide, I personally figured it was used by some keyboards, but I had no idea what. I have a localized "qwertz" keyboard but "azerty" seemed unusual. :P

Man if I played on PC I'd have this crap re-mapped to a more sane location in a heartbeat....like.....my mouse. I have a DPI adjustable 7 button mouse with a programmable macro key built in. If I had a computer worth a damn anymore I'd half consider switching systems just for the ability to re-map buttons.

So there's actually a double layer of keybindings (1st from coalesced, 2nd from ingame key mapping) and the ingame one takes precedence, so if you want to remap already used keys (like left shift) you need to unbind them in the ingame menu first.
Here's what I did so far.

Map E key to Use :
 - Change ingame key binding for "order 2nd squadmate" to anything else, I chosed Y.
 - Change coalesced file using Zhuinden's guide, but replace E binding instead of T.
 - I wrote ( Name="PC_Use", Command="Exclusive Used | Exclusive PressAction" ) , not sure about the difference but it works well.
 - Optional : remove these actions from "Shared_Action" so that your space bar isn't used for it anymore.

Map shift to Run :
 - Change ingame key binding for "Command Menu" to anything else, I chose Ctrl (and remapped Walking command to another useless key)
 - Create an entry in coalesced file under bioinput.ini/sfxgame/sfxgamemodebase  : ( Name="PC_Storm", Command="StormOn | OnRelease StormOff" )
 - In bioinput.ini/sfxgame/sfxgamemodedefault change the Shift key assignment : ( Name="LeftShift", Command="PC_Storm" )
 - Optional : remove the "Storm" actions from "Shared_Action", your space bar won't be used to run anymore

That works too, but apparently if you unbind it through the coalesced by changing this line
( Name="E", Command="Shared_SquadMove2" ) (in sfxgamemodebase \\ localized bindings)
then it will also be unbound. The Find function of the program helps, I looked for this via searching for Name="E" .

As I've said before, I wish I could help with 360 too, but I am unable to.

Saw a tutorial on another website earlier, but didn't feel comfortable making keybinding changes unless I was sure it was kosher. With official confirmation, it's time to put this keyboard to good use.

No longer will I derp around making love to the nearby computer console while my ally lies on the ground screaming in pain.

No longer will appear to be foolishly selfless in my attempts to save my comrades when what I really want to do is GTFO so I don't get shot in my bum and end up on top of my teammate's body in a suggestive position.

This is the greatest news ever.

As mentioned, remapping keys is fair game.

To clarify - Make sure you know what you're doing when editing these files. If you do give yourself some sort of unfair advantage (accident or not) BioWare reserves the right to ban you.

If you have any questions, concerns or comments please PM me.

Thanks for clarifying the issue Thomas. It'll be nice to finally be able to do this.

Hmm, so how about changing sprint just to shift? I hate going into cover when you just wanna run past something!

That's possible too, but where are you going to move the Menu bar from Shift?

Moved it to TAB myself, as I use B for voice chat anyway. I have shift as sprint, alt as use and space as cover.

Wow, I wouldn't have thought of remapping so many keys, but that setup actually pretty awesome.

I just tried vivanto's method with a few edits, loved it.

His base setting makes take cover and sprint separate though, I still prefer to put those together.
Easy enough to change though :)

you guys rock

I was quite surprised that you can even add them to the key binding options. But, also amazed.
I'm glad it works well :)

You can get new video cards Nvidia 460 GTX or Radeon 6850 or better for around $100-140
at
HDSD www.slickdeals.net (the Hot Deals forum) , which are 10x as powerful as a Xbox360 or PS3

You won't need a new CPU unless yours is under 2 Ghz (you can find deals on CPUs for around the same price there too)
