I recently bought the ultimate edition and a new laptop. My old computer's system was worse than the new one but I rarely had freezes or lags.I installed the ultimate edition and transferred my savegames to my new computer and configured the game according to my system settings. But when I started the game I had freezes and lags (like when I killed an enemy it took a second or a two for him to die).I lowered the graphic quality texture quality and resolution but I still had the same problem. What can I do?
(My system settings are:Intel Core i5-2410 2.3GHz, 4.00GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GT 520M 2GB)

What makes you think that you had a still worse video device than what you have now? The 520 is quite bad.

It's well below the minimum.

Honestly, tons of people own computers without knowing the facts. The minimum required for this game is a gaming card that is six years old, as per the side by side comparison. The 520 is just so bad, in spite of how new the rest of the laptop is, that it's a loser card.

There were laptops available six years ago with top notch cards (for that era, at least), that for the most part were better machines when it comes to their cooling systems and build quality than even a higher priced current laptop.

Laptops now are made for looks and for social status purposes, not to be major factors in game playing, no matter how they are described.

Can my PC run this game? (DAO / DA2)

I know I know but I really have a problem that needs to be solved.I turned off frame buffer effects It took my fps to about 40-50 but when my warden runs I have lag I don't have any problem in combat though. And I can play Mass Effect 3 with antialiasing on and all settings high without any freezes and lags.I only have problem with DAO.

DA:O runs on a different engine that the Mass Effect series... it's much more demanding, hardware-wise, than ME3, for example.  Also, if you have any mods installed, they may be affecting performance.  You might also want to make sure you're not running any other programs in the background, except anti-virus software, of course.

I have some mods installed but I didn't had any mods installed while I was playing the game with my old computer. So if I remove these mods the game will run smoother than before, right?

Before buying the game, did you understand the system requirements?  The OP for this message thread did not understand them.

I have: AMD Phenom II x4 850
8gb dual channel ddr3@ 669mhz
1024mb gtx 460 (evga)
1tb sata hd
windows 7 64 bit sp-1

This was a budget buy when my other pc quit on me. My brother has exactly the same pc except has an
AMD Radeon HD 6700 and has absolutely no lag whatsoever. The fight at the end is pretty much unplayable.

I had that lag in Denerim since I bought the game. My specs exceeds yours but the first fight in Denerim is a nightmare for lagging. the ea guy said everybody he spoke to had that problem whether windows 7 or xp. Try up your graphic card fan speed. I had a GTX card from Asus and changed the fan speed and the lag was gone.

My current specs are
Intel 15 at 3,33GHZ duel core - not sure of model
Gigabyte GTX470
8gb ddr3 1333
2 x 500gb sata 2 hard drive
creative live sound card
windows 7 64bit ultimate edition service pack 1

Hope it works. I can't try it with my Gigabyte card but Asus graphic cards come with Graphic card monitoring tools. Useful but a nightmare to get the latest Nvidia drivers for. There was a tool I once came across that allowed you to adjust the fan speed of the card. I can't remember the name and I don't know if it works on windows 7. Might be the best bet to try.

I was playing with 1280x720 resolution medium details and no frame buffer effects and I had lags then I made the resolution 1366x768 and the lags were gon looks like I had a problem with the game not my computer. :)

I think you mean afterburner? i have downloaded that and will up the fan speed in a bit and see. Since my brothers runs perfect it seems that it must be my gfx card, but its relatively new im not experiencing any overheating at all.

If you suspect the performance issue centers on your graphics card, you can try to do a complete uninstall/reinstall of the display driver, replacing the old with the latest driver.  There's a link in my sig (below) which may help.

Yeah the driver crossed my mind so if changing the fan speed has no effect ill try that. Thanks.

The driver doesn't solve it for me. I done a complete re-installation and removal of the driver and although slightly better the lag never goes away. I think its the game to be honest. No matter what graphic card I tried I always had lag in that section, old and latest graphic card driver. The only time I never had lag was when I changed the fan speed for my old 200 series card from Asus.
