I've recently been running Shale as my tank, and after he does his three abilities, he just stands around not attacking... If I manually control him and make him attack something, he will, but as soon as it is dead, he just stands there being hit again :\\. Anything I can do to resolve this myself?
Shale wont attack while defensive?

He's probably using his totem stance where he does not attack and is litterally like a totem have her use pulverizing blows and watch him smash face.

Yea this is annoying. Sometimes i have a target, tell some to make a special attack, and once finish they dont keep on attacking. Or sometimes i tell 3 to move to a special location, but when i unpause some decide to not go or attack instead, or do nothing.
You need to watch ,if you have the button enabled that tells if you want the followers to follow or stop (dont know how its called) ,and what stance they got in the automated tactic fields.
Sometimes i dont know if i shall disable automated tactics, cause its empty anyway for the most part. But then they dont even keep on attacking as i told ,despite it was empty anyway before.

I figured it out, when you have the behavior set to defensive, they don't attack unless directed by the player, had to set him to default which makes it so he only attacks if the party is in combat.

The last line in my combat tactics is usually "Enemy: Any -> Attack" to ensure that my characters will attack unless directed otherwise. That should make sure that the character will at least take a swing at someone!
