All I did was to push the target character towards the tower until that character got repositioned by the game, and the enemy AI will get stuck.
So I was able to kill them one by one with my rogue...with Wynne healing me on the tower...
I can imagine mages with AoE spells would be more effective though.

What I did was to leave my party memebers down at the chantry, while I ran up to help the knights there, some corpse that are after me would teleport to somewhere closer to me.(I think they'd teleport when they're too far from the "active area"?)
