Unless you have lvl 3 cyclonic armor, lvl 3 ammo power, lvl 3 weapon bonus and a high level weapon.  I'm tired of rezzing these horrible vanguards that go away from the group and die then leave because they suck.  Now if you're a boss like me with the vanguard, you don't die more than 3 times in a gold game.

3 times? you're bad. i can solo gold as a vanguard at level one and never use any equipment at all.

double standard much? vanguards are designed to go flying off into enemies. i think i do well with my asari vanguard, and can not wait to unlock krogan.

Sometimes that works to your advantage. I've seen them get glitched and become unkillable. Nice distracting decoy that lines everything up for the easy kill. Dude was even kind enough to realize this and stay the entire match so he got his credits at the end. Afterall, being a living decoy is hard work.

Yeah, what's great about these threads is they often call all vanguards terribad, except for them of course.  In this case, he's a boss vanguard lol.

I think I can safely say that if I were playing Vanguard you aren't the person I'd want watching my back then, anyway.  I play for fun, and sometimes learning to play a character and sucking at it is part of the fun.  If we were all experts where would the intensity and excitement be?

I'm in the process of waiting out two people trying to vote-kick the lvl 20 Krogan Vanguard on our team.

People shouldn't be kicked for playing a certain class. It's a game, meant for fun. Some people find some classes more fun than others. If you can't deal with that you should leave, not them.

I usually find that newer players on Vanguards just play in a more "risky" way as they learn the class. After dying enough and leveling they generally start to understand it more and play a bit more conservatively. I know I was that way for sure when I started out. Now I play my Krogan Vanguard properly, rarely dying and using my abilities appropriately. I love playing as a detonator when Sentinels or Adepts are around though, but I wont try to headbutt a Banshee to death...often.

You crazy man/woman, who plays games for fun? It's all about level grinding and practicing for hours so you can play the lowest difficulty setting! And more grinding for credits to unlock the weapons! Games are hard work, not to be taken lightly <_<

I think the issue with Vanguards charging is more about players not being able to shoot through teammates. Whether they do it on purpose or just overlook it, a Vanguard putting himself between an ally and the enemies effectively shuts out the other players.

Plus the "Hiya! [Thud!] Tut! Ja! [Boom!]" is just plain annoying.

Don't forget the importance of creating not-terribly-subtle boasting threads about how terrible other players are compared to you. Bragging is just as important as putting in a hard day's work at the credit factory.

If you're a boss with the vanguard, why the hell do you need a cyclonic modulator?  That's just plain wasteful.

If you're a boss with the vanguard, why the hell do you need cyclonic armor?
