People hate the asari?

I just what to know, why do people hate the asari?
(For the record, I have nothing against them, but the Fall of Thessia laid the irony on so thick, you could cut it with a knife; A species whose superiorty is due to a beacon they illegally hoarded to themselves are overpowered by a more advanced foe beacuse their superiorty made them a target. Add to this their aloofness coming to bite them in the ass, and you've got a irony sandwich that'd make Shakespeare proud)

Quick Edit: Another issue people have is Shep's forced emotional reaction to the fall of Thessia. He gets very angry and depressed regardless of how the player feels, which generally matches up.

While I agree about the Thessia mission; it's definitely more than that. I've also noticed a rise in anti Asari sentiment. I simply ignore it

The Palaven moon mission was similarly bland but it doesn't nearly as much hate.

I would argue that's because its still early in the game before the quality missions come and you also get Garrus. But I agree that it is just as bad if not worse than Thessia.DoomMech wrote...

I harbour no personal dislike towards any race in the game, but I have problem with wanting to kick certain politicians's teeth in.

For that matter, EVERY coucil race has lost their homeworld, except for the Salarians. Palaven is gone, Earth is all but gone. Though not council, Karshan is COMPLETELY destroyed. The Hanar and Elcor are retreating, what are the Volus even doing? Rannock is basically virgin territory, and Tuchanka and a wasteland, even if it IS regained.
I suppose it's not hatred for the Asari so much as shellshock for EVERYONE pretty much having no homeworld. Also, the Salarians aren't doing themselves any favors in sympathy, what with all the slave-mongering and genetic manipulation not seen since the Protheans...

Yeah, but it led to better things. People would dislike it if it had been on Palaven itself and that was ALL we saw of Palaven. As is, we're just made that we didn't see Palaven at all except from the moon.

Hate might be a strong word, but there is a strong undercurrent of irritation towards the asari gov't. I was mad when my Shepard was all 'omg so sorry' when I, personally, wanted to reach across time and space and slap the s--t out of the counselor for sitting on this information and acting like it was my damn fault when her decisions helped lead to Thessia's downfall.

Some people seriously need to relax.
Anyways, the Thessia mission was amazing, a little short and with too much focus on that temple, but overall, it had fantastic action, and the entire sense of dread permeating throughout the whole level is really good.
Why would people hate this mission ? Or Kai Leng ? Or the asari ?
Whining.

I know:o! You could play the most duplicious and cold hearted renegade, but Shep still acts all broken up when he should be chokin' a b*tch!

At least asari get turned into something cool; humans get turned into cannon fodder, asari get turned into lighting bruisers.
