Ah yes, if someone's worse than you they're a noob and if they're better than you they have no life. :innocent:

Who in their right mind who knows how to not get caught hacking would want to use it for topping some stupid scoreboard? If anything, players with rank X arsenal weapons could be accused of cheating.

Guys stop trolling OP is right...I have seen people increase 2k N7 rating in 1 day
This is not "virtually" impossible, this is ABSOLUTELY impossible

I wanted to add a little math.

It takes me about 11 games to get from level 1 to level 20.
That will give me 30 N7 rating if i promote.
1 game takes about 20 minuts.
11 games then takes about 3.7 hrs.
At N7 7652 he must have promoted roughly 255 times.
Thats 255*3.7=944 hrs = 39 days or 58 days if you need 8 hrs sleep.

Considering that the game have been online for 49 days, and that you still need time between games to find groups, its possible but highly unlikely...

Your numbers are ok, if not a little subjective.

Two things though,

1. The 11 games can be subjective, since if you jump into gold with a lvl 1, the levelling process can be a bit faster. This is a small difference though.

2. Playing games earns credits, which can then be used to buy packs, which contain character cards, which help level up characters faster. Once weapons are maxed, you would get a lot of character cards, meaning you could level up faster. This would make it a reasonable possibility for someone to play constantly and get an N7 of 7652.

This is just roughly speaking, and is conservative numbers. I tested and from all lvl 1 characters, I had 5 at level 20 and one at 18 after 7,500,000 credits in premium spectre packs. The leveling and promotion of one character equals 30 N7 points. Conservatively, 150 N7 points can be earned with 7.5 million credits by promoting a character every time it hits level 20, while keeping one character at level 20 at all times to keep doing gold runs. Let us assume it takes 30 minutes per gold run, or fifty hours to do ten games for 7.5 million credits. If playing 5 hours a day for the last 45 days while promoting in this manner, you will have at least N7 675. A spectre pack costs $2 USD, and $228 would give about N7 675 with the numbers above.

By using recruit or veteran packs, I believe you can get much more n7 points for the same amount of money, but I'm assuming premium spectre packs here since the player might be trying to max out N7 weapons too. Again note the numbers I give are conservative, you will get more than N7 150 points for every 7.5 million spent if you promote immediately when possible, and you can earn more than 7.5 million credits every 50 hours of play especially if you do speedruns.

Oh and most importantly, this doesn't take into consideration leveling of the character being played, assumes it is always level 20. Who knows if he does this though, I just know it is possible to get N7 at 8000 just through spending a lot of credits or a lot of real life money.

Unless he spent a lot of money on packs, got character cards, and levelled that way.

Expensive, but /entirely/ feasable.

What you guys need to remember is that rich people will be playing this game. I used to know a guy who played an mmo with me who was a .com millionaire. Made his money early in the days of the net and now games and holidays exclusively. Guy had everything you could possibly imagine, and was always spending hundreds of £s on gold and auctioned items.

You're doing it wrong. If all you care about is N7 ranks, just spam recruit packs. You're guaranteed to have nothing but character packs and you get 19 packs for the price of 1 Premium Spectre.

Since the characters from recruit packs only give you 50k xp as opposed to the 10k from gold cards, that's about 9,5 times more exp for the same amount of money.

There's no way I'd ever spend credits on recruit packs. I need N7 weapons :o.

If anybody had half a brain, they'd notice the leaderboards are pointless in any game. You have to be reasonable and like of all the people that play. So how's the order going to look:

1) People at the very top are the ones that glitch and mod. Seriously in MW3 people being a tenth prestige after two weeks. Doesn't matter if they're playing 24/7 there's no way.

2) Underneath you have people that train for gaming competitions. They are naturally the best because this is their "job." They have to be the best to win prize money.

3) After that you have people who have no life. They mooch off their boy/girlfriend or live with their parents so they have no reason to earn an income, and have nothing better to do.

4) Then there's people like me who like to play video games when they got free time. I'm an avid gamer, but not like other people. This group is the average person.

5) Last is noobs. No explanation needed.

Leaderboards are pointless. There's no point to even look at them because everyone knows what they're going to see. Nobody at the very top got there legit, its all mods. This thread is over.

Hmm.. a week or 2 ago there was someone with 18xxx points number 1 on the global N7 ranks, seems he got 'banned' or points reset. '?something?_RUS' was his name. I bet if you'd check every week you'll see something similar. They do get 'banned/reset' but you really got to see it.

LOL Bioware do you check the Leader boards of the mass effect 3 multiplayer for PC....... It's honestly funny that this individual at number one with 7652 N7 rank is not banned yet as that is virtually impossible to achieve at this time.
If you compare this to the leader boards of ps3/sexbox 360 then it is obvious that he is hacking....
honestly Bioware i love you but this is getting out of hand with the PC game and cheaters.
Also i would like to suggest to you a new cheat detecting system...... Now i know it might sound stupid but its worth a shot and by the way i have never coded in my life.
ok so my idea for stopping cheaters that modify the coalesced.bin file is that you make a system that detects if the players coalesced.bin file is modified...... If it is modified and the player is online on origin then make the game crash on startup or cancel launch or give them an error saying cannot launch due to modified coalesced.bin or something.
Well that was just my idea.

It's not the beat idea becouse i youse modifed coalesced.bin for singleplayer. But yes if you log to multi with modifed coalesced.bin it schuld be some way deceted.

I'm at 2000 nearly, but I got the game late, because I live in Europe, and I did most of campaign before starting Multiplayer, and even then I stopped to go play the ending and I did another Insanity play-through.

So that guy must have only played Multiplayer since March 6th.

...or spent a lot of money.

Technically, he could have never even played and levelled everything via unlocking character cards using bioware points.

Hahh, was just a theoretical "how to waste your creds on useless stuff most efficiently". Tho I do buy some recruit packs from time to time when I'm short on gels/rockets.

7652 N7 score is achievable if you...

A. Play the game a lot
B. Are good.
C. Have hilarious amounts of disposable income to spend on Bioware points.

Even your statement that it's "virtually impossible" (as opposed to actually impossible) is incorrect. It's simply possible, unlikely, but possible.

I still think he's a hacker.

You have to assume that there are people who have all the time in the world to play?
Ya know - in home with broken leg. And people tend to spend ~15hrs/day playing online.

I played BF3 a lot some time ago. And the time people spent over there was just impossible, but legit.
I wouldn't look at this exact fellow, but if all you do is level up and promote, you can go up a lot in one day.

I was that jerk, who had 119 N7 rank and then realised he could promote.
Leveling from 1 to 10 is about 2 successful games, even on bronze so maniac can reach a high N7 rank in short time.

so I gues the guy who has like a 5000 N7 rating on XBOX 360 is a hacker too...

N7 rating is somewhat meaningless anyway

DangerKnerd: When I saw this thread, that was also the first thing I wanted to do!

Side note: do leaderboards matter? nope, not really. Are they kind of fun to browse? I think so. Just a bit. Mostly because some of the names are really creative, but then you can't help but think ''uh... wat? 7000?' Let me get out my calculator.''

7652 N7 rank would require 255 promoted characters (30 N7 rank per promotion, 20 for the levels and 10 bonus). If we say it's 3 million XP from level 1 to 20 for each class (probably a bit high, but I don't know the exact total for each level) then that would be a total of 765000000 experience. If he got about 300k per Gold match, that's 2550 Gold matches. Each match takes, say, 20 minutes on average (a quick run, but not a complete speed run), and that's over 35 days of straight play and a promotion the minute each character hits 20.

Of course this is probably a high estimate because it doesn't include the character cards he will be getting for extra XP (there's no real way to estimate that without probability numbers from BioWare) and I'm sure I estimated high on the XP per level 20 character (it's probably closer to 2.5 million). But even if we cut that number by 50% to account for overages on XP estimates and all the character cards he would have got, that's 17.5 straight days of playing since the game came out, or an average of almost 9 hours per day for the 48 days the game has been released.

And that doesn't include time spent in menus.

Absurd.

Edit: Another amusing statistic. An N7 score of 7652 would net you 19,125 war assets in single player, or basically an N7 special ops team large enough to wipe the Reapers from the galaxy without any other help from any other military organization. "Nah, you guys go home. We got this sh*t!"

This doesn't take into account Character cards - which is a major boost. It may well reduce that 58 days to 49.

Also doesn't take into account that it need not take 11 games - you can farm FBW with a level 1 character, jumping straight up to level 8.

All that can easily whittle down to 49 days of 15-16 hours playtime. Not out of the realms of possibility, but that said, he/she probably has no life. And quite a bit of money to buy more packs.

Op it may be a good idea but what if we us mods like more credits or changed hair or unlimited ammo in sp?
