Why does Liara have eyebrows? I mean, she's got tentacles on her head instead of hair, so wouldn't it stand to reason she'd have eyetentacles too?

I think its more like a tattoo or facial marking
some asari like asari councilor or any asari in citadel
they have facial marking

She and her mother both have the "eyebrow" markings above her eyes. It isn't hair.

Whoever designed Liara modeled her after Jillian Murray, and in doing such a poor job at it, tacked on eyebrows to make her look better.

To make her look more human so players would love her more/find her more attractive? I have no clue, I never really noticed that she had eyebrows, or if other asari lack them.

Some other Asari have the eyebrow/markings/whatever too. And on others it looks...shaved. Like there's some slight five o' clock shadow there. And Rana from Virmire looks like she trimmed hers up.

I think they were added on to make her look better. Take away the eyebrow paint and Liara looks very weird.

Yep. Liara's brows are tattoos.
(Did I ever mention I prefer different tattoos on Liara? Like those from Shiala, for example ...)

They're facial markings like other Asari have, but instead of having the whole intricate thing it's just eyebrows. Her mother had them too.

They look like makeup, or something similar. Tattoos maybe

I made a thread about this the other day. And they look stupid. It's like she drew them on with a pernament marker pen.

Several other Asari in the game are seen with markings on their faces.
Figure it out for yourself.

Could have sworn I read somewhere that in-lore, some asari add them for aesthetics.

you want a plot hole? ill give you a plot hole.
normandy SR1 and 2 can be seen by the collector ships (that use reaper tech) in stealth mode, but not by the reapers.
Also the eyebrows are a facial marking i assume.

Many asari have some kind of marking around the eyes. One of Samara's dauther for example. One of the most stunning asari that I have seen. *sigh*
I was pretty much "Nooo, you are too pretty to die".

They're drawn on. What I don't get is why Asari have eyelashes.
Weirdly enough, I thought that too. I thought she had such interesting designed markings that she'd be an important character later on and then nope... dead.

I'm pretty sure part of her morning routine is taking a pencil to her face.
The thing about Liara's eyebrows is that they are not like the marking most asari have. It's like Liara has always been obsessed with humans and wanted to look more like a human, so she takes a makeup pencil and draws herself thin eyebrows every morning. Screw the fashions and culture of the asari. Those facial markings and tattoos are unappealing to Liara. She is rebelling against the social norms of her people. She went to school instead of went off to strip and sell her body to strangers like the rest of the asari do.
She is a true black sheep.

Her mother has the eyebrows too, so I don't think they're much of a rebellion.
I don't think going to university is all that rare for Asari. People pay too much attention to grumpy Aethyta making standard complaints about young people today.
I mean, there aren't that many stripper jobs out there. Unless like half of Asari GDP is people paying each other to dance for them.
