You people picked colors? I just opened fire on Starlad until my trigger finger got tired, then shut off the game.

I was dubious of having to shoot a pipe to turn the damn thing on(really that makes no FN sense.), And i didnt want to kill the geth, so i chose green. Then i reloaded and chose red to see what would happen... havent logged back into sp since.

But see if you pick Control, you will start playing galactic cop with the reapers. You'll use them to enforce the council's edicts on AI research, and if the race doesn't pay attention, you have a choice -- let them create the AIs and let the AIs run rampant; take out the AIs yourself for them, but you'll take losses so, you'll have to replenish your fleet.... and this means you'll have to do some reaping eventually. So the reapers will become YOUR solution.... see that's the Control -- or "paragon" -- option. Not so paragon anymore is it? The difference is that instead of like the Catalyst, you'll have ACTIVE control. And all those husks won't go to waste either! "Hey Harby, you wanna have some fun? It's been a while. You can do that 'Assuming control' thing again. Let me hear if you still have it. Come on. You know you want to."

"Oh, alright. Assuming direct control."

"That's the spirit. Now go take out whatever that world over there is called and build me a reaper."

Then there's Synthesis.... fling yourself down the light waterfall of death to be made into tiny bits of dna to be scattered and violate every law of nature to make hybrids out of everyone! That sounds like fun, but not as much fun as Control.

 I chose red.

With control how can I be sure my Sheperd can actually control them? Legion mentions that a single thought from the Reapers was immense (or something to that effect), and I'm supposed to believe that one human mind can maintain control of a few thousand Reapers? Also there's the old saying "Absolute power corrupts absolutely" so how long before my Sheperd turns into a maniacal tyrant.

With synthesis it felt like I was doing the Reapers job for them. Isn't that what they were doing with harvesting? Also how can we be sure that it will lead to peace unless we altered their minds as well, because if not then they're all still the same people. And if so does that mean we just indoctrinated the galaxy?

With destroy it was what I had been striving for the entire trilogy. I hated taking the Geth and EDI down with my Sheperd but I felt like Legion and EDI both would both be willing to die if it meant stopping the Reapers.

All in all though, they were all pretty bad choices.

What other options were there?

at the time i couldnt remember which option was which option. the catalyst kindof quickly says thisll do that, thatll do this, and the other one will do something else.

i honestly thought "i dont really care" and just went to the one on the right. didnt even know it was the destroy ending. i seriously thought "this is dumb, whatever" and walked to the right, shot the thing, felt kindof numb while watching the ending sequence, and turned off my game, then came to the BSN to join the confusion.

second playthrough i shot the kid in the face for a good 30 minutes and then just turned the game off before i choose any of the options.

My Shep and I were so utterly confused by the randomness that was Vent Kid and all he said she kind of just walked in a daze straight down the center. I didn't even fully realize which choice it was, considering every single choice sounded wrong

All the choices had there bad points. Red kills EDI and the Geth since i have the geth on my side. Of Course wipeing out the reapers is worth that small cost cause the reapers have kill trillions for countless years. Green just cause the reapers to leave the galaxy what to stop them from coming back in a few thousands years to reap new races that are not part machine cause if you think about new races will appear that are different from what has happen to everyone else. Let face it blue not really a a choice cause even if it takes 100,000 years or more Shep could lose control and they would return and wipe everyone out

I went 100% Renegade throughout all three games, consequences be damned. Wrex was killed because I sabotaged the cure and I didn't care. That's the outcome my decisions led to and so, I have/had to live with it and I can.

I chose synthesis by accident on my first playthrough, meant to choose destroy.  I was kinda confused how the whole thing worked, lol.  And you can't change your mind after walking a certain distance down the path.

I can't say I went straight for red since I still can't bring myself to complete the game Posted Image

But if I where to finish the game someday then red would be the only option for me as it stands now.

Maybe the EC changes this, but it find it unlikely.
Unless they add a 4th option where you get to tell the space-kid to stick it where the sun don't shine and then go out fighting in sticking with red.

Same here. Didn't even consider the others. Straight for red. Only choice.

That is the thing because the purpose of the entire ME franchise was to destroy and defeat the reapers

Red all the way. (Though I did reload the save a few times to see all of the endings) Synthesis and Control strike me as playing straight into the Reaper's hands.. er.. giant metal appendages. Shame about the geth and EDI, though. Posted Image

I chose Control, because even though I played (mostly) a Paragon, I never fully disagreed with TIM's views on how to thwart the Reaper threat, and I didn't want to commit genocide by wiping out synthetics. Synthesis seemed like the worst option to me; it just feels wrong to rewrite the DNA of every being in the galaxy.

I'd like to think Shepard just ordered the Reapers to retreat back to dark space and shut themselves down.

Of course, the best option would've been to just flip off the kid and die a heroic death.

I actualy wanted to finish the run (after 2 weeks) andit was already 3am in the morning (have to wake up at 6 to go to work) when I finaly reached the beam. The whole ending I couldnt think straight and when I finaly met starchild, I was completely puzzled just like "he? what the heck is that?". Then I went straight to the destruction end, because Anderson went over there too :P

A day later as I could think a bit again, I went to the destruction end, no doubts.

Well and after this I went to BSN forums to check out about this "stuff" I have just experienced and didnt like a bit.

Considering the crucibles explination about the ridicolous truth about the reapers all the ending is in a way a victory for the reapers

I went straight to Synthesis. I didn't even think about it. Destruction killed Geth, and I did not want that. Control seemed too ridiculous to be true. So I just picked Synthesis because it's so vague it can potentially mean anything. But I have to confess, my mind wasn't really there at that moment... I had a pretty hard time attempting to process all the pointless nonsense and contradictions. Also, I didn't even really understand the decision process and I couldn't bother to try to understand because it all seemed incredibly ridiculous to me.

I went straight to red. I think, if you assume that the kid doesn't lie(what I doubt), EDI and the Geth would accept their sacrifice if it can save the others.

Blue doesn't really end the threat of the Reapers. And if Shepard can be controlled by TIM he also could be controlled by the Reapers.
Green is a rape of mother nature and nullifies things like free will and diversity.

I went straight to green, as I blanked out and instantly forgot what was where. I replayed the last bit and shot the pipe,. Working with what I was given, it's the way to go. A synthesis Shepard is a lame Shepard.

LOL, same here. So reloadrd the ending and select "Red".

I rushed the middle option, randomly, to have the credit ASAP, and check on the internet the ending I obviously missed, and how I sucked that hard to have such a miserable ending.
I did have all the endings available at my first try. Joined retake movement that day.

Same here, straight to the red option. Green was idiotic and blue was something that Shep fought against before.

I do admit I gave it a little bit of thought and almost went for green...in the end though I decided I couldn't choose anything but red.
