I wanted to pick destroy, but couldn't bring myself to risk killing EDI & the Geth, so I ended up picking control.
Did anyone really think twice to pick which colour? I just wen't straight to RED

I went straight to Destroy. It was all crystal clear that it was the right and the best thing to do. There were sacrifices to be made, and at the moment I didn't know Shepard would survive either and still looked like a worthwhile sacrifice. Trillions of lives, thousands of races in exchange of some robots and myself? Hell yes. The other two options didn't look even remotely close to the desired outcome for the Galaxy.
I rememeber back then I didn't know of any Indoctrination Theories or if the kid was lying or not. I assumed what he said was the inescapable truth, and acted in consequence.
Now that I know that Shepard, EDI, and possibly the Geth could have survived the Destroy ending, the thought alone of picking anything else is just ridiculous.

I was completely bummed out at the end so I didn't really know what to. The Catalyst kind of guilt tripped me into synthesis, you know with all the "destroy all synthetic life" speak. How I hate that thing...

after playing through 1 to 3 red was clearly the ONLY ending anyone with any sense would have picked.
Control would'nt work - you just seen that with TIM going to pieces.
Synthesis..... diversity gone forever so no....
Destroy - we've been wanting to do that since we saw Sovvie. It's the only sensible choice.

chose control to give the current galactic state a chance of peace. Then maybe if someone screws up in the future, the reapers can come raining down again.

I had an Epic fail, I wanted to destroy the reapers but i went straight down the middle thinking there was a computer console or something. Didn't realise that it was synthesis. Guess I should of listened to what that child was on about instead of shooting at him

Actually, a lot of people didn't understand the decision making process. Blame whoever thought it was a good idea to have the options be represented by shooting a pipe, grabbing two glowing control sticks and jumping into a beam of light. The writers can't be blamed, they couldn't have the Catalyst tell Shepard "Shoot this pipe to destroy all synthetic life" because there's no way to make that sound not ridiculous.Cobra Shepard wrote...

Myself, I can't even remember whether it was my concious choice to pick 'Synthesis'. I believe my brain shut itself down as a self-defense reaction to all the nonsense and contradictions it was confronted with. Things got fuzzy.

Was gonna pick Control, but when Space Brat said "You'll lose everything you have", I changed my mind. Finding all those modle ships was a pain, and I love my fish. No way I'm losing those!

No, I think I stood there crying for like three minutes. Then I almost went straight to green because of how I'd worked to bring the Geth and Quarians together... but it didn't feel right, so I turned around to go to red. Then the Crucible was destroyed. Went straight to red after that, the Starchild had made me so angry that I didn't care anymore and I wanted to finish the mission I'd gone through all of that for. I didn't trust a damn word he said.

I came to the Citadel to do one thing, destroy the Reapers. If Red were going to give me that option then so be it.
**** that Star Child and flawed logic.

No
I honestly had gotten so incredible annoyed and disappointed in the game, long, long, way long before the (so called) end - I was pretty fed up with it all.
I simply put my (Xbox) controller down, in a deep sigh, and it went on by itself ...it has a tendency to do that …straight into Synthesis.
I did a 2nd playthrough, because I was curious about "that easter egg", but since I'm a Single Player
- and wasn't aware that I had to use my iPhone for a game series I've spent 1000's of SEK on,
to press a button every 108 minutes or so, to get more EMS -
I never got that easter egg...which turned out to nothing but a "breath" after all... Ha ha ha this I just laugh now,
This has got to be the stupidest game-art-thinking ever!
Sorry ppl, I can't help laughing, and I do laugh at myself now, as well, for my engagement/disappointment

I was just utterly confused and had forgotten which path lead to which ending. I just took a random path and luckily, it turned out to be the red one.

Yes, I paused since all three options were terrible. I eventually went with Destroy but I felt terrible sacrificing the Geth and EDI since it was the ONLY choice to complete my mission to KILL the Reapers.
The ending made me feel a mix of: Futility, Anger, Bitterness, and a sprinkle of Confusion "Where the *** is Joker going?" and other unanswered questions.

Well, on my very first playthrough, I didn't trust the "kid" and he didn't seem to want me to choose destroy, which is what I was intending to choose.
However, I must have missed the whole concept that I had to do different things and ran straight into the "green" beam figuring I would get to choose from there. To my shock and horror, I just doomed the galaxy and all life within it to a fate worse than death.
I have only chosen destroy on all my subsequent playthroughs, after I realized my mistake.

red, no more circular logic time to do what I came here to do.

i choose without second thoughts the destroy(without knowing the indoctrination theory) even if EDI and the Geth die(developers say they may not be dead). You lose that but you gain MUCH MORE it just feels wrong to choose the others especially synthesis which the starchild favors it destroys diversity and you do what the reapers are doing for millions of years and if you look closely at the synthesis ending the soldiers don't cheering maybe this is some kind of hint? that the synthesis isn't as peaceful at the catalyst claims?

Red=No more genocidal Reapers with circular logic. Avenging trillions of lives and making sure trillions live without giant machines of death lurking over the horizon.

When the catalyst laid out what Destroy would do, I thought that was a pretty steep price, but the other options didn't seem appealing at all.
I stood there for a second, contemplating... but then I said "F*** it, I came here to destroy the Reapers and that's what I'm going to do."
I choose Destroy on every playthrough, on every Shep.

Straight to red, not a single moment of doubt in my mind. The options were bull****, but at least I knew which one I hated the least right away.

Had to be red. Understood mission parameters from beginning. Destruction of Reapers was only safe outcome. They are to dangerous to be allowed to continue existing.

I spent a little while wondering whether to sacrifice the Geth, decided the idea of control was abhorrent. Honestly spent more time trying to remember which one the kid said was going to be destroy - I thought it was red, but couldn't get my head round how that could be the 'Renegade' choice so didn't trust what I remembered.
