Most races in Mass Effect are apparently completely inept and require Shepard to do anything that makes sense.

That said, they all have their endearing aspects. Except for the Asari, I find them to be disconnected and annoyingly smug. Liara was pretty much the only one I could relate to.

Batarians. Not because they're douches, but because they're so obviously the race you're supposed to hate.

Bioware should've just hung a big neon "I AM A DOUCHE YOU SHOULD HATE ME" sign around all of their necks

I honestly liked the Quarians for the very reason the OP didn't. They felt a lot more real as a group BECAUSE they bickered among themselves rather than all fall in line like the Turians, a ground I was not all that fond of. There was a distressing lack of personality among Turians as a whole to me, outside of the characters that were intentionally fleshed out due to their importance in the story.

Batarians. Not my fault though, since the game is basically biased against them. They are never shed in a good light. In Arrival DLC, I was like "Full speed ahead!".

Batarians. No redeeming features whatsoever.

At least Harbinger made us laugh.

But, THEY TRIED TO KILL YOU AND TALI! I mean really, we agreed to a plan and not only did they not follow it, they tried to BLOW US UP! If that dude would've waited 5 more minutes to start attacking the dreadnought would've been destroyed and I would've been alright with it. What he decided to do to repay a favor I was doing for his entire race was shoot at me. *facepalm* Plus, did they seriously think going to war during a Reaper invasion was a smart idea? Really? More like a selfish one.

God I hate the quarians.

Like you say OP, Tali and Reager, thats pretty much it. The rest of them are just dumbas*es. Yes I know that's a sweeping generalization. I don't care. That's how annoying they are to me lol.

They should be just glad that I like Tali....

I have a weird, deep seated, inexplicable hatred for all biotics that aren't Wrex for some reason. Not the concept of biotics, just every single individual besides Wrex that has them provokes a savage hatred. So, I hate the Asari.

Quarians, killing those innocent geth for no reason :crying: batarians, ugly four-eyed wrinkly human wannabes :bandit:
and finally, Volus, can't stand the "take a long-*** breath inbetween every word" thing they do :P

Asari. I get that they're basically a reference to all the hot alien chicks that Captain Kirk made out with, but all they actually do is act smug and superior and no one ever calls them on it.

Also they name their hotels after their genitalia and that's just weird.

Raloi. Stupid "Sir-Not-Appearing-In-This-Movie" ne'er do-wells.
Rest of the races were pretty good. Batarians could have used more characterization other than 'Always Chaotic Evil'. I mean, I can expect that from the Vorcha, but they're idiots. We never meet any decent batarians that give us any deeper insight into their species thought process. An opportunity that was sorely missed IMHO.

Batarians. They look like bipedal spiders. Can't stand em. If the Asari are the epitome of beauty, then the Batarians are the epitome of ugly.

also, they have awful personalities.

Well, seeing that Tali was topping the popularity charts since ME1, they probably went out of their way to make the Quarians feel like complete d*cks in ME3. Else the Geth/Quarian choice would have been a bit too straightforward. I mean, legion is cool, but can't really compete with Tali for the player's attachment.

And oh boy they succeeded. Back from the Geth Dreadnough mission, even on my pure paragon playtrhough I renegade interrupted the hell out of Admiral Whatshisface, and found myself wishing I could just take it a couple of steps further, like, shoot a couple holes through his suit and throw him out the airlock.

Quarians but that's mostly because i have to save their sorry asses when they get the cute idea to attack the Geth in the middle of a ... Reaper War. Of course beeing shot at didn't help their case either. It was like baby sitting a bunch of monsters, no matter how many times you tell them not to they charge of and do just that and get burned, then they come to you crying and want you to fix their problem.

Depends on what you mean by favourite. They're all interesting in their own way I guess. Thats what I like about Mass Effect.

Volus have a totally different bio chemistry, being amonia based.
The Vorcha have that self adaptive thing.
The Turians have metallic elements incorporated into their biology!
The Hanar are aquatic, the Elcor from a high gravity world.

Even the Batarians, who are I guess the most boring race are interesting as a kind of alternate humanity thing. So yeah I like all of them.

Volus. Interesting idea but find them jarring to talk to. The only conversations I wish I had subtitles turned on for.

I don't count the ones we're supposed to hate (Vorcha, etc.) since they served their job in making me not like them.

Well, they changed the sound effect of their 'breathing' in ME3, and not in a good way, IMO. In ME1, they had soothing voices with a sort of mellow breathing sound in between. In ME3 it is like having a conversation with a Dust Buster. The breathing effect is very obnoxious now.

Oh, and my most hated is definitely the Vorcha (even though we are supposed to hate them). I think they went a bit over the top with their voices. They could have conveyed the same evil image without such obnoxiously loud voices (Props still go to Mark Meer for pulling off double duty).  I think they would have been even creepier, in a good way, if they had very soft, quiet, menacing voices instead of the nails on a chalkboard sounds we got instead. They come across as some kind of evil version of Jar Jar Binks with all of the dumb-speak as well. Very annoying.

Whatever race wrote/created/spawned God Child. If there was ever a candidate for justifiable homicide...

I don't have an issue with any individual race. With that in mind, I do find myself side-eyeing the hell out of the asari sometimes, but I think that's just a side-effect of BioWare trying to make them mysterious and inscrutable.
