As a new player I am not looking to add new story/change much, but "restoring" content etc. I am very open to. I'd appreciate any input!
Any must-have mods?

Never got around to playing this, decided to get to it finally. So, are there any mods you personally wouldn't play without?

Very good game just with vanilla. I haven't gotten into mods very much though.

There's a mod to play it in widescreen aspect ratio. But it doesn't work with Steam version of KOTOR1.

BOOO of course that's the version I have. I did a search on it and apparently there is a work around...but that is an avenue I'd rather avoid if possible. =/

For both:
- Kotor Tool
- Kotor Savegame editor
K1:
- Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge
K2:
- Restored Content Patch
Just float around this site http://knightsoftheo....filefront.com/
EDIT: I don't know how well these will work (or if they wil) on the Steam version. The save editor works with the steam version though.

I second this request. Is there any interesting mod for enhancing the interaction with NPCs? I love the idea of the restored contents for KotOR2. Is there anything similar for KotOR?

http://knightsoftheo....filefront.com/ and http://www.lucasforu...splay.php?f=645 are sources for the following must have mods. As a principle I have several mods that are all restored content and some beyond that.
Such as the original JDNoa Dark side female option to sacrifice yourself on the Star Forge by killing Bastila after defeating Malak for those who romance Carth. The extended content after the Leviathan, there's a mod that restores Sharina's appearance on Dantooine and an extra line at Tatooine's starmap from Bastila after finding her father's holocron.
There's more in terms of extra content, un-voiced but Allronix's dialogue pack definitely is worth a download for some of the best character interactions. Just make sure to do playthroughs without conflicting mods.
Brotherhood of the Shadow: Solomon's Revenge is something I'm playing as soon as I've finished my most recent playthrough as to test a few of my most recent mods. I also I have a copy of Shore of Death, which gives you the DS option to kill more members on the beach or not to kill which is rare, so if you want it I'm more than happy to pass it on. So many mods get lost through expired files.
