Maybe it's just me, but do all of the CGI segments in the game seem to be choppy on the PC version?

I really didn't notice too much until I was watching a friend play the 360 version and I noticed how smooth the cutscenes were (ex. space battles). The in-engine stuff is at 60 FPS most of the time and I know its not my hardware.

It's only jarring now because I can clearly see when the game transitions from in-engine to pre-rendered by the choppyness, (MINOR SPOILER) such as certain scenes when the army of Cerberus troops are pursuing you out of Gellix.

Maybe, but it is noticeable on two separate computers, both well over recommended specs.

It isn't horrendous or anything, not game breaking, but now that I've noticed it it seems to stick out a little more. Compare the CGI sections of these two videos and you'll see what I mean:

Slightly choppy:

Yeah I'm getting exactly the same thing. I'm about to hit the final video segment but I'm not going to ruin it by watching choppy video. It happened leaving Earth as well as one of the final battle vids too.

EDIT: go into the settings for Origin and disable Origin overlay in-game. Fixed it for me.

I believe the CG cutscenes are rendered at 30FPS due to the console versions running at 30. Besides performance levels, a typical TV does not have as high of a refresh rate as a computer monitor so it might be less noticeable.

However, on my first run-through, a few cutscenes on Tuchanka ran at like 5-15 or less for some reason. Second playthrough was fine though. So there seems to be some intermittent issues with the pre-rendered scenes.

I noticed the CGI scenes went choppy after i updated my graphics driver to Nvidia's latest beta. I rolled back and the problem went away.

The 'cgi' scenes aren't actually cgi, they're .bik files (bink video files) created from in-engine stuff they recorded at bioware, in order to save on texture/animation/rendering on your console/computer. They are recorded at 30fps and something like 720p, and thusly look horrible on most PCs but fine on consoles. As for them being choppy, that's probably due to your computer having some difficulty in uncompressing them and playing them.
