You should be able to detonate your Tech Armor, Barrier, Etc when being insta-grabbed.

I hate being like 20 feet away from an enemy then slowly getting psychicly pulled into their hands only to have them fist the life out of me.

The detonations are all so weak that you wouldn't get free anyway.

What they really need to do is make instant-kills only possible if you don't have have any shield/barrier left. Then at least it wouldn't be so cheap.

This, unfortunately, still means people get grabbed / insta-killed RIGHT after they get revived by a teammate.

You can detonate TA, you're just on cooldown for the most part helplessly mashing the power button.

I have never been able to detonate TA once the Banshee has me and I have tried.
She can be staggered before she grabs but once you are grabbed you are dead.(unless a teamate saves you)

The insta-grabs should be like Quick Time Events imo. This would atleast give players a fighting chance to survive those horribly glitched grabs.

it will add an essence to the tank classes, if your teams area is overrun i would imagine a sentinel would sacrifice himself to lure the grabbers

You should be able to detonate Tech Armor anytime you want.


The cooldown needs to be on ACTIVATION, and not upon detonation.

Thats unique and interesting idea, like when you purge a barrier or tech armor you can break away from an insta-kill. I like it, it would be cool if it was there.

I've broken from an instant kill by a banshee twice and a phantom once by detonating TA during the little cutscene. The only time it hasn't worked was against a phantom, and it was because my cooldown was up. I've heard it works with barrier too.

Unless I'm completely insane, or there were a series of weird coincidences at work here, I'm positive it was the TA burst that caused the interrupt all three times.

I have heard other people say this as well but I cannot replicate it myself.
Maybe its the timing but once Im grabbed I can do nothing at all.
TA detonation will stagger a banshee(briefly)but Ive never been able to do it when I was the intended victim.

They definitely need to add "outs" for these moves, they are no fun whatsoever.

YES! That's exactly what I was thinking!

Well...that, or perhaps a trick to personally avoid it. It can become annoying when an "insta-kill" happens, and you're 4-5 feet away from a Banshee...and then it'll use 'Biotic Programmed Pull' and take you out.

I wish you could have a few seconds to shoot her in the face while being grabbed before you die to make her let go....

Well, perhaps because they do so little damage, it can be justified having them stagger all opponents caught in the blast?

I like the idea of this - it would make tech armor, foritfication and blade armor a lot more usefull on higher difficulties (apart from the damage protection, which i think is most welcome, albeit it does come at a high cost).

Only the final evolution of tech armor should allow for a one hit kill escape detonation. It would make an otherwise useless skill tree extremely good and worth the investment.

I like insta grabs, punishes people for playing sloppy. They just shouldn't happen unless you are seriously lagged.

Tech Armor isn't worthless. Grab the recharge upgrade at rank 6 and it's 30% DR for just 30% cooldown increase. That's very reasonable. Also, it's not a flat modifier. It's just part of the normal cooldown bonus, so it's like carrying weapons that leave you with -170% cooldown instead of -200%.

Its not sloppy when it lags/glitches and you are insta-killed from 20-30 feet away
