This really should be two, three, or more questions.
1) Do you like / dislike
2) Have you spent money?
3) Would you spend money if condition X
4) Would you spend money if condition Y
etc.
You're probably getting people leaving the poll because they CBA to decipher it.
Not that it's complicated, but it reads like a reading comprehension test question.
"If two trains left Atlanta at 4:02 pm...."
I agree with you, but if you think about it, the way the poll system is built, your 1) question(s) are one poll, 2) is another one etc. I provided several options because I tried to cover a larger spectrum of possible attitudes towards the current store system. As of yet I am not interested in possible solutions, as those can only be
determined after a proper defitnition of the problem and general
attitude towards it. Your questions 3) and 4) (in addition to being yes/no question that could be posed in separate polls again) present solutions, which we are not yet ready to present.
When planning this entire "venture" I discarded (pen and paper: what do I want to know?, what will the questions be? etc.) those questions because they are too limiting for the goals I have with the poll, as I want to:
1. find out the general attitute
2 determine whether a change is necessary (atm, to my sincere dismay the dislikes do not significantly outweigh the likes and if the balance is 50-50, "dislikers" are just going to have to deal with it, I think...)
3. can we produce a possible incentive for BW/EA to change the system (that is why options include spending habits)
And yes, I knew the options would seem more complicated than they actually are, but this is the best I could come up with. Besides, a little reading comprehension never hurt anyone...

The store system would be vastly improved, and I would be tempted to spend real money on it, if there was a guarantee that you would always unlock something that you did not yet have unlocked - i.e. no more character cards when you've already unlocked every appearance option for that class. Keep the distribution of rarity as it is in each pack, and if you've already unlocked everything at the rarity for which your 3rd, 4th, or 5th item is supposed to be, award equipment instead.
E.g. - let's say that you buy a Recruit pack. The pool of common cards are the II-X upgrades for the five starting weapons, the I-V upgrades for the 13 common weapon mods, and the 3 appearance options for each human character for 146 unlocks total. After all of those options are unlocked, if you buy a pack that is supposed to include a common card, instead of re-awarding a character card with XP, award a "common" level of equipment instead - i.e. one consumable or one level I ammo/rail arm/armor equipment.
The same rules could easily apply to uncommons & rares as well. Uncommons would be 3 consumables/level II equipment and rares would be 5 consumables/level III equipment. This will ensure a smooth progression through Recruit->Veteran->Spectre packs and keep people buying & playing even after they get good gear due to the fact that the chances for an ultra-rare are still low, but it would prevent the rage from buying pack after pack just to keep getting useless XP - at least those players will be getting *something* and have significant amounts of high-level equipment to play around with.
I'm sorry for reacting only now but I was too tired to comprehed your comment yesterday.
However, your suggestion is a very good idea: reasonable and it would certainly be an impovement. Let's hope we will get a decent sample with the dislike in majority so there wil be something we can present to BW/EA.
Thanks again for the constructive comment.

To be honest, the subject is generating much less attention than what I hoped for. I wonder if the cause of this is:
1. People are indifferent, or simply not bothered by the current system
2. The question is late and it was exhausted earlier (and I simply did not notice)
3. I am doing a bad job of marketing it
Hmmm... Maybe I should make a poll about this...

The store needs several changes desperately, starting with the following two:
- character card problem
- equipment problem (medigel/rockets)
Until then it is a horrible.... (insert appropriate swear words here).

Frankly, I think you overcomplicated it, even your latest post proves that. There are 10 options yet you generalized them into two categories now - which is pretty much all we need.
Though it be complicated, yet there is method in it. I tried to avoid
multiple separate polls at the cost of simplicity. It remains to be seen
if the "sacrifice" was worth it. Look a few posts earlier if you want
to know why it is not only: I like/I dislike options. That, and threads get buried pretty fast around here.
And this is why I
Otherwise I fully agree with you...

I'm N7 340 or so (too much College and disconnections), and compared to a lot of players my level I have terrible weapons/upgrades/items.
I've had the Phalanx (my most used weapon) since before N7 50 and so far I've only achieved level II. I've got 2 ultra-rare weapons so far, and the weapons I love from SP I either haven't got or are too low to use.
So I'm stuck with using a Avenger X and a Phalanx II which are terrible for Gold matches.
Also tired of getting ammo packs, I've been stuck on 8 med packs for ages.
It would be a lot better if you could choose which items you unlock after you purchase the pack (for the 99,000 pack, say you unlock 3 Gold cards you could choose which items to unlock with them. I've unlocked the Salarian Engineer 10 or more times).

Do you have Narida L's ME3 multiplayer checklist? Just google it if you don't and use the system that you buy only recruit packs until you unlock every common item, then only veterans until you have all uncommon, and so on and so forth. This system help retaining one's sanity in spite of that tragedy of a store. I started this at about your level and have since unlocked and maxed out most items available (except for ultra rares of course).

By that I mean that the server knows what I have in the way of guns when I buy a pack - be it a Recruit or Resurgance Pack. That's how they know I have a Tempest level 8 and are now giving me a Tempest level 9 (as opposed to a Tempest level 4).
So why can't the same system knowledge be used by the server to avoid giving me worthless char cards for classes that are already maxed out at 20? I buy a Veteran Pack, and instead of a weap upgrade, more medi gel or something useful, I get not one but TWO char cards for classes that are already maxed out. That's a 40% fail rate - which stinks.
There's two solutions: 1) BW allows the system to see my class levels and awards pack contents accordingly OR 2) BW allows the unspent XP from char cards (due to maxed out class levels) to accumulate until such time as I promote my existing char in that class, at which point all the accumulated XP are awarded to my "new" char in that same class.
And yes, to the Jaded Ones out there, I know this has been discussed ad nauseum on this forum - but until BW does something about it, I'm going to keep bringing it up every time I see a post that touches on the subject.

It's very simple:
Do you like it and wouldn't want changes?
Do you dislike it and want changes?

Also, did anyone ever think what would happen if you could just choose what you got? Half the weapons wouldn't be bought, you'd have people running around with the best weapon of each type and none of the lower models. Don't get me wrong, they should have made all of the weapons usefull instead of a handfull, but it's supposed to be a progression not LOL N7 LVL 25 WITH GPS X.

I'm already seeing a discrepancy in likes vs dislikes where some people are stating things like: "i like it but it shouldn't give me items I already have when I need other weapons"....which kind of means you don't agree with it or like it, yet they still say they like it. A polling system this content heavy is doomed to fail to these slight misinterpretations.
It's very simple:
Do you like it and wouldn't want changes?
Do you dislike it and want changes?
"I like the random, but..." falls into the option "I like it but I would like to know what I am buying". Because basically everyone is saying they don't want maxed out characters, which means they want new stuff, which pretty much means they want to know they're getting stuff they want. I know people don't realize this, but that is the way things are. My goal was not to cover all options, only to get started with some information, and a bit more than what your questions would provide (which incidentally are not very good ones, as they contain redundant info: If they like it, they don't want it to change, provisional liking is the same as not liking, which itself inherently means they want it to change).
And by the way, the options that cover you questions are there (1 and 3) for those that do not require more or wish not to share more information.
See earlier posts for my goals and reasons for doing it like this if you are interested.
Thanks for the comment!

Sample size is a bit under 250. More info needed. Vote and tell your friends (you don't have to, I'm just sayin').

Wish the poll would have included: - the only reason I dislike the store is because of the never-ending character cards drops.
That's a totally different issue, cly57. The poll was not made to find out the actual reasons for the way people feel about the store, but how they feel, and how they intend to spend money on it.
