Lol you must be very unlucky
Not necessarily. The crapiness of the current system is exactly the fact that you may easily get 100 packs without ultra-rares. i know people who have had this happen. My personal opinion about the recent store tweak is that it is a very cheap trick to appease the murmur. Unfortunately, many will be satisfied with just having the equipment packs. I have to admit, having the two new permanent packs in the store is in magnitude something like Neil Armstrong walking on the Moon. That is not because the step is so big, but because the store was so bad before...

So, what do you guys think about the recent store tweak?
I think its useful at the very least. I would normally save up for the PSP or the Equipment pack and not spend that much on the normal packs. Now I can just buy the stuff I need instead of waiting for some 'special pack'.
It remains to be seen if the new permanent PSPs make it easier to get Ultra Rares. Personally I can't recall getting many Ultra Rares from normal Spectre packs, so maybe being able to buy PSPs whenever you want will make it easier to get N7s. Would be curious to hear if anyone has bought lots of the new pack, getting a couple of N7s, or if it is the same as before.

I am not closing the poll just yet in case some people find it on their own.

Don't give up! This is the only thread I've seen here actually trying to proactively change the store system. I think many, many people are not happy with the store as it is but just do not know about the thread or the poll. There are always so many complaints about an x amount of packs bought with little gain of the items they wanted... so I would definitely advise keeping the poll up. If it's any consolation I am still sharing the poll and thread with people where appropriate =)
I wasn't closing the poll, I just grew tired of my own constant self promotion. But now that there are at least two of us, I might put the link back in my sig...
But tbh your post is sort of consolation, so:

Store related balance changes on 16.05.2012:
- 255 max cap on ammo, medigel, rockets, shields - they should grant equipment items instead if maxed
- Respec cards are now uncommon rather than rare
- Increasing XP bonuses for character cards

But seriously, I too feel this is a great step forward, even if it did'nt really get us where we wanted to go.

- Increasing XP bonuses for character cards
I mean I know its there to make the useless cards look a bit more useful, but increasing XP only gives more incentive to gain N7 rank, which on the other hand, partly because because of the free XP cards give, yields no information whatsoever.
I do not wish to go into a "change the rank system too" thing, but this seems like yet another, in a way related issue...

What do you mean? Technically, in the MP you paid for the Starter pack and the possibility to upgrade your stuff by further investments, not the upgraded weapons and characters. Or is this not what you mean?COLZ7R wrote...
Lets face it, everyone has already paid for all the weps(exept the dlc ones)

what i meant is you have paid for all the content that is on your disk, if its paid dlc fine but if its stuff thats already your on your disk you shouldnt have to buy it again to actually use it

The content is the framework (a.k.a. the base weapons), but upgrading is another matter. Whether this is good policy is another question, but I personally have absolutely no problem with upgrading things (I paid for) that were already usable by default.

This system as it is, is total crap at best and need a overhaul. When I am out of Medi-Gel and I can buy 4 or 5 packs and not get a single refill but I can get a double of a ammo mod in a single pack something is wrong. We wont even touch on the worthless character card issues.
With the boring multiplayer beta game as it is, I doubt I’ll continue playing the game much longer to try to unlock the things I want to. Especially considering I likely wont get them and have better games to play.

Voted: “Option 3 or 4 + and I would prefer a system where I knew what I was buying.” Even though I would NEVER buy any pack with real money.

As much as I appreciate your opinion, the latte part is very far from being constructive. We must bear in mind that on the other side of this equation there are also people who, quite frankly, screw things up from time to time. Just like you and me.
Regarding your choice, those option are the ones for those with "obscure spending habits"!

Much to my surprise, there seems to be new momentum: about 40 new praticipants in the poll since ThinLizzy92's "peptalk"!
