I would, because I love my Warden and Hawke that much, but it's silly to even consider, because it would never happen. It would change the story too much.

Pretty much everyone is hoping DA3 will reveal what happened to the Warden and Hawke, and if that is at all meaningful to the story (which is better be, otherwise it makes no sense why they wouldn't have gotten involved in cleaning up messes they helped create), then being able to play as either of them would shatter everything.

Not sure how it'd be possible to swap out protagonists into a story that isn't really made for them. I wouldn't buy it.

Regarding the poll, just as Pasquale1234 stated, I cannot vote in it, the way it is worded. As I said, IF they do it exactly right, I would like to play my Warden again, though I really have no urge to carry on the Champion's story.

However, based on comments of some of the DA dev teams staff, that seem to take delight in upsetting the expectations of the fans of some of the characters, I would be very hesitant to trust that they would do things right. After reading these forums the last few weeks, I have gotten the impression, that certain key writers do not care for some of the characters, as much as others. Thus, the Warden, as well as his/her LI might be much safer in our memory, rather than rendered in DA3.

Thank you for the reply,Dakota.:)
I apologize if the poll was not worded properly - I should have pointed out that the DLC is only in case (and I added this in the poll description):

1. There is no other way to play your previous PC again (does not matter which),as they will not feature them in any meaningful capacity in the main game.
2. They are, obviously, done right. I would not think about buying it otherwise.

But I agree,it is an all or nothing proposition.Either do it right and do not tarnish our memories of our previous PCs / companions/LIs with OOC rendering,or leave them be.

My Warden(s)? No. Two of them are dead, one is ruling Ferelden, one is running the Antivan Crows, one is a feted Paragon in Orzammar and the last went through the Eluvian with Morrigan. They are too busy to be protagonists any more. My Morrigan-romancing Warden is the only one I don't feel had a complete conclusion to his story, and he was the one I was least attached to. (Sure, I'd like to know what happened to my Queen Cousland some day, but I don't feel the need to play as her again.)

Hawke? Yes, I would pay for that. I'm sad I didn't get to play the planned DA2 expansion, so I'd approve of it being attached to DA3. I really doubt this is going to happen, though.

You do understand that this is nigh impossible, right? To be done "right" the story of the third game would have to be altered drastically to fit the protagonists of the previous installments. And that is just a bizarre thought for any developer, I believe. Otherwise: why would you even want to have a hero that has no stake in a story that is being told? This "DLC" would be extremely resource intensive and arguably detrimental to the overall experience of DA3.

Let bygones be bygones. One may argue that neither Hawke, nor Warden got any satisfying resolutions to their respective stories, but both have undeniably played their part. I would rather have an interesting new protagonist that is forged by the new conflict, than an old one making a return long past his prime.

If Bioware puts out quality WRPG again, I'll buy everything. Allways did, up to DA2, which direction I didn't feel like to support by buying dlc.

But yes, I'd probably buy the Warden no matter what, and import wardens and wardens,.. hopefully having fun.

I would crawl through a desert of broken glass if Mike would let Hawke be the protagonist again.

Lol, no. Not unless we got a silent protagonist like Origins had.

We would never do this.

In fact, we could not-- not unless the role of the protagonist in the story was so generic that swapping in any other character would work. Otherwise you'd have to re-write the protagonist's role completely... and if someone thinks that can be done in DLC, their idea of what DLC is needs some adjustment.

LOL Gaider, what a way to take away the fun of fantasizing about Hawke in the future Image IPB

I was going to ask if we could play as Commander Shepard via DLC. No?

What about Revan? I sort of miss her.

Revan is busy with some sort of galactic empire thing. Stop trying to get us to spoil the Radiant Jen Zi DLC, Maria.

I'd only want it for the Warden, not for Hawke.

Nope, not interested in playing either of them. My Warden (bless his cotton socks) has completed his story. He has gone off into the world and is happily enjoying retirement.

Hawke's story is also over for me.

Ready for the next thing now! The idea of creating someone new and playing through their story is too exciting. The thought of going back to previous protagonists is a bit deflating.

Are you also working on a DLC for Scholar Ling?

I would love to play as my favorite combat-librarian.

Take a look over in the Mass Effect 3 forums. People have crazy-magic beliefs about the power of DLC. :P

Hey, if I can play through RE2 as a giant box of tofu I can play through DA3 as Commander Shepard, dang it.
