Never claimed it did. Claiming that I am stating fact is just as hypocritical.

you started a thread saying that she's overrated
if you didn't really believe that then you wouldn't have started this thread
you were claiming your opinion as fact
if not than you would've created a thread called "i don't like Jennifer Hale as much as others" not "Jennifer Hale is Overrated"

Am I the only one who thinks that stating that someone's opinion is their opinion is one of the most redundant points a person can make? He was the one who said it, of course it's his bloody opinion. What, do you expect him to state your opinion? I just... I don't understand why people say that as if it's an argument against anything.
On the topic of Meer and Hale. Yes, I never saw the appeal of Hale, though it all really comes down to the fact that the first Shepard I played was a male and since then I'm just not able to see Shepard as anything other than the often-monotone, occasionally inappropriate dude that he is. It fits perfectly with how I envisage Shepard: a straight-up military man with a dry sense of humour that doesn't feel the need to explode into fits of angst or rage or anything over-the-top unless there's a damn good reason, and when there is a damn good reason, Meer has always done an excellent job.
I'd probably think the opposite if the first Shepard I played was female, though I do genuinely think that Hale sometimes tries to act a little too hard in her role. It could just be me being too used to maleshep, and I accept that. These sorts of threads only ever serve to rabble ye old Bioware Social Network's rivalry, though. Usually I'd be opposed but it's sure nice to see a temporary reversion back to our old form. You know, before THE INCIDENT.

That said, I just found Jennifer Hale/FemShep more fun to listen to, every time. Paragon FemShep sounds more emotionally invested, like she actually cares about whomever she's talking to, so that comes off as more convincing. But I found her even more exciting in Renegade mode, especially when she explodes. There's this great Renegade response to Victus Jr. where she just barks, "What's wrong with you?" And then all her little details, like her ki-ai/battlecry/thu'um when meleeing, even her little scream when sliding down the collapsing floor when the Dreadnought explodes, it just sounds so much more interesting. I'm always more invested in my FemShep, because Jennifer Hale definitely seems more invested, and I had no idea who she was before playing ME1.
TL;DR - Mark Meer definitely deserves more praise because I think he had the harder task, but Jennifer Hale definite deserves the praise she gets because she makes every scene more interesting IMHO.

Though to be fair, since he is so good in other roles, I would lay that problem at the door of whomever the voice director was on his Shepard scenes.

All that boils down to is personal preference. And Hale is awesome.
Mark Meer is solid too. Took longer for him to grow on me though.

To me Jennifer Hale tried too hard with FemShep. Yes, Meer sounded rather bored and monotone in Mass Effect 1, in the sequel they matched up pretty damn well but in Mass Effect 3 he overtook Hale in my personal opinion. When I hear FemShep I hear somebody desperately trying to look tough, straining their throat as much as possible to look like they're putting emotion into the character.

I've been a Hale supporter since ME1, but even I'll give Mark Meer big kudos for his ME3 VA. He really stepped it up and it showed significant improvement from ME2. I thought Hale did well too, but sometimes the tones were a bit over sold.
This pretty much sums up my feelings. I've always like Hale but I definitely felt like she overdid things in ME3. Meer definitely improved over the course of the trilogy and for me, had the stronger performance in ME3.

I also think that she puts just enough emotion into her voice when shes talking. And I really don't see how she "Strains." Look at her interviews, its technically like talking to FemShep.
So I really don't see the problem. You either like her, or don't, doesn't really matter to some people who like her. I loved the emotion she put into her romances, mostly Me3's romance with Garrus.
Now as for Meer, I loved him. Of course I have only made 1 BroShep , I just find it rather difficult running around ,saving the galaxy as a man when of course, I'm a female.
He kinda sounded..bored in Me1. But he put a lot of emotion in the final part when your talking with Saren. He got a lot better over the 2 games. Sometimes in Me3 when I would watch the BroShep videos, it brought a tear to my eye to see how much emotion he put in there.
They both did wonderful jobs, is my point, and for a lot of other people to. And no, I'm not talking for everybody. They are both different people, so..why judge?
If you don't like there voice acting..its simple.
Dont play as them. c:
