Jennifer Hale is overrated.

Meer FINALLY did a great job with ME 3, but he still isn't up to JH' standard.

My view is Meer was good in ME1 as renegade and that was consistent through all 3 games. His paragon has improved since ME1. Hale was better at paragon in ME1 but her renegade has never been all that great. The scene that comes to mind is the tone she used in ME2 to tell Kal' Reegar to stand down. It was over the top.
That's a good example, really. As I said, I hugely prefer Hale, but those scenes she doesn't sound good. I think she should have gone more for a slow, growly delivery than volume.
I hear Meer's better in ME3; I might give a try, although thus far I've not been convinced by the various YouTube clips.

Don't worry about being convinced. I don't think he's any better or worse in ME3. You just don't like his delivery and that's fine.

Agreed, I do love Hale's VA and I only play as femshep but that line makes me cringe every time. I guess she was instructed to give that line like her voice needed to be heard over very loud gunshot, which is true overall in the scene but not at that precise moment.lillitheris wrote...

As for Meer well... Haven't tried maleshep in ME3. I wanted to make one in ME2 and romance Tali but then I got to meet and talk to Kelly and she said "I knew I could close my eyes, fall back and you'd be there" and Shepard said "I might do more than catch you Kelly" and then I couldn't hear anything else cause my head was buzzing and blood was oozing from my ears...
After I managed to get ahold of myself I deleted that career quickly, and with my whole body trembling I swore that I would NEVER try to play as a maleshep again.

Fine you find the woman overrated, she's still getting roles and is in a profession most people will never have the success she has.

Yep, that line always made me cringe. The delivery would have been appropriate if some loud gunfire noises on the background could be heard.Dorryn wrote...

Why post about the ending? Why post about how great the game is? Why post threads about Garrus? Why complain about the Thane romance?

I just think that what you call ''desesperatly trying to look tough'' is in fact strong emotions. and that makes Hale the better one, even though both are awesome.

Mark Meer voice acting was far superior in my opinion. The renegade conclusion for Tali and Legion fight in ME2 was much better in acting with Mark Meer.
Meer performs it well with fluid emphasis and gives it intensity. Hale sounds like she is trying to whisper and yell at the same time in but can't make up her mind which one she wants to do in the renegade response.

I love Hale's ME work. But the flirty dialogue with Jacob in ME2 sounded so creepy and awkward. I felt like my Shep was going to be slapped with a sexual harassment suit before she ever got a chance to save the galaxy.
HAHAHA this one wins.

Sure hope there aren't any fanboy feminists or feminist fanboys in there. Who knows what THEY might do.

Blum just does the same voice for every role. It's an awesome manly voice but it is still the same voice. Every. Time.

Hale is really, really, bad at times. The "That's not gonna happen" renegade interrupt with Liara's father is hilarious. I'm sure the same can be said for Meer, but I honestly think they're both good and bad at times. It's really just fanboys and feminists going on and on about how much better she is.
Or people who think Hale does a good job and Meer can't play Shepard worth a damn. There's that, too.

I mean...she sound too tough, even for a female badass soldier. It doesnt feel natural. Meer sounds more natural, he doesnt overact his character...and male shep sounds right.
