Do people really think the purpose of a Kroguard is to charge and just melee until they die?

I play the Kroguard same way I play Batarian Soldier. Shoot, stagger, meleee, charge away to fight another day. Repeat.

Not working very well with a level 8 I assume =[

I can't imagine it being as effective as using your weapons and powers as the primary means of damage dealing.

Until they fix the Rage modifiers, it's not. And even after they fix Rage, I can't imagine it'll be a good idea in Gold. But I've got a couple of Respec Cards sitting aside, just in case it suddenly becomes viable.

I will say that I've used a Strength Enhancer equip a few times in Gold, and it practically one-shots small troopers / rocket troopers even though I'm not specced for melee.

Well it's not my fault that the best shotgun in the game happens to be grouped with pistols, i just happily take advantage of the fastly superior pistol mods.

Well according to lore Krogans charge in firing then batter their enemies to death. So technically they should be able to do that in the MP.
I think they should have some form of HP regen (or gain it when they kill with melee attack) just so that they become a real tank.

You know, if I'd go in an area with 2 primes and 3 pyros (meaning all three are relatively close and visible at the same time) in Silver, I'd die. While the Kroguard can take a fair deal of punishment (even with Rage being broken) that's just way too much. Three pyros will rape your 1600 shields in seconds. Add in the primes, and your Charge simply won't be off cooldown often enough so that one can survive solo.

no.  you charge, heavy mele pyro twice, its dead, charge is back up, repeat till all pyros are dead, then repeat on the primes

Because Rage is such an important thing for Krogan survivability, they NEED to keep meleeing things. It's just the way these things work.

I charge into pretty much anything on silver, Preferably the weaker, smaller mobs. I rarely die. I usually charge, shotgun, and finish them off with melee or vice versa. Hell, i even solo'd a Prime doing this. It works quite well, but I would never be as aggressive on gold. The one thing that's essential however, is good connection. Otherwise the lag will kill you, which is probably what happens to people in public matches (in addition to their lack of skill).

Rage doesn't even work right now.

I know it does not work with melee bonus, but DR bonus still working isn't it?

I thought it was completely broken. I guess I was wrong. Still, melee damage is important!

Some people say that doesn't work, either. I can't say so with 100% certainty, because I'm not the one who tested it and you can only believe what people say on these forums with a grain of salt ( unless they post videos )- but somebody said they tested it by running into Cerberus grenades with AND without Rage on, and it did the same damage.

So.. That.

depends. It's personal preference.

for me, If I'm playing bronze or silver challenge. I enjoy the charge and heavy melee. It's fun. Just like the Batarian Giant Fist Punch is also enjoyable.

But, If you're playing Gold - it's not a strategy one can do

YES! I'm supposed to run at 3 ravagers and a brute and expect to melee them to death and you're supposed to revive me when a swarmer knocks out my shields and health. And since I'm the HOST, I can quit because you guys sucked and I have the sastisfaction of wasting your time.
Seriously don't know to be honest. I melee all the time as a krogan, but I also get behind things to let my shields recharge.

I did just fine as Kroguard on Gold by charging in and using melee combined with my Claymore for anyone I couldn't be arsed to walk up to. Barrier up all the time, using Charge whenever it's off cooldown and I pretty much never die.

Yeah, again, on Gold. I was surprised, because the other Krogan are terrible on Gold if you try to stick to melee and I expected to get my tail handed to me.

Vanguards can be absolutely devastating if you know how to use them, which I do not. It does not matter what difficulty you play. I have seen this on bronze, silver, and gold.

With the listed enemies, you charge, heavy melee twice, and you're dead from the other 4 guys melting your face with impunity. I don't get people saying things like being unkillable during heavy melee animation - that's not at all my experience, I've died during Krogan heavy melee animations many times. Three pyros I could attack survive just fine, but unless the Primes are AFK, not with them in the mix. Similarly I can attack a big pile of Cannibal and come through just fine, but there's a limit to everything. Especially with Rage not working right.

Rage being bugged is a non-issue for KV as it is now. For all levels.

"You know, if I'd go in an area with 2 primes and 3 pyros (meaning all three are relatively close and visible at the same time) in Silver, I'd die. While the Kroguard can take a fair deal of punishment (even with Rage being broken) that's just way too much. Three pyros will rape your 1600 shields in seconds. Not at all. This is very possible and I have done many times. It is important though to do a few things:
1. You have to be spec'd for 2 mobs with charge. This breaks up the fire stream.
2. Make sure you stay close to the Primes
3. Heavy melee on the a pryo (on the third if you can) breaks up the damage even more.
4. Shottie will also help stagger (although not always reliable)

You can do the above scenario even with 160% recharge (but I usually go 200% if the team looks like I will be heavy CQC)
