Hunters share a common issue with the Phantom but other then that its still easier to kill two Hunters vs one Phantom.


Depends on your weapon and character.  If I have a scorpion equipped with cryo or fire ammo they are toast once I hit them once.  In comparison, a hunter that snuck up on my position or heck, even an atlas is harder to take down.  Yet, those same enemies are a joke versus a claymore or a sniper rifle respectively.

Unless they buff Nem's a bunch, I really hope they never nerf phantoms.

Depends, Prime are slower and easier to work over and easy to see. Phantom's biggest "threat" is when you get busy with other things and *blammo* there they are.

Firstly, player rating has nothing to do with it.

I know players who are 120 or thereabouts who can almost instantly headshot a Phantom to death at point blank range.

The enemies have a lot of damage output, but they are SUPER squishy. 

This is how they are balanced. Take away any of their attack potential and they'd be one of the easiest enemies in the game ofr everyone.

And even though I can take them down easily, I still worry when I see a group fo them approaching. You're supposed to fear them, especially on Gold.

No, you don't need an Adept to kill a Phantom. Every class has at least one ability that can make them trivial as long as they play to their strengths. If you are unable to do that, use a rocket. It's that simple.


There are clearly better and worse classes vs Phantoms like everything else. Stasis makes them a 100% joke so the AA is the queen killer for those things.

I find engineers with turrets actually are insanely effective. Drop the turret, start overloading and let the flames go to work...plus the dumb things will dance with the turrets for a long time.

I wasn't aware using the Valiant on my not-melee spec'd Geth Infiltrator who doesn't have proxy mine was cheap.

Lol their not op at all. I killed 2 of them alone has a krogan battlemaster on silver. And a batarian can just net them. Or even better guys just avoid getting close to them. Or killng them when they cloak and hide behind cover and they stick their head out sorta snipe it off

What happened to the good old days when a enemy in a game was tough and we would either keep trying until we won or we quit, we couldn't demand to nerf the enemy our only option was to find a way to win, the idea of nerfing at all is horrible. Basically whenever bioware nerfs an enemy it just teaches those whiney little ****es that they can make it through life by complaining. I think every time someone wants bioware to nerf an enemy they should instead make it stronger

Just played a Firebase Reactor Gold match against Cerberus. Three Adepts, one Geth Engineer. Finished in about 22 minutes -- only three times did anyone go down. Our most difficult wave was the 6th wave inside the reactor. Otherwise, it was an easy game because my friend and I hung back and focused on setting up Stasis and watching the flanks.

Lesson: It pays to strategize.

People also don't seem to understand that playing with an Adept is probably the most sound decision you can make before you jump into an Unknown map/enemy Gold match. I have, however, beaten Cerberus several times with an Engineer level 14 and up; it's not that hard to beat when you're planning ahead with your teammates.

People should be less inclined about personal scores and more focused on teamwork.

Nerf phantom hand gun.

Buff Nemesis sniping abilties.

A problem with Cerberus is that they've got all the good stuff in one unit, whereas another is lackluster.

If we nerfed phantoms, made them more canny to melee, and in turn buffed Nemesises, we would balance it out as a whole.

How come a Phantom can kill me better at range than a nemesis? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

I like their difficulty.

Sure, when your party of random people is Zerg rushed by three on Gold (plus the multiple waves that just keep on coming), and you don't have the common tricks to stop them (Adapt and such), you'll probably die at least once, but that's what makes killing them seem like an accomplishment.

I silently cheer to myself when I see a teammate kill one on the list. That makes me happy in that there's enemies that do such for me.

Maybe they can add sissy baby mode. All enemy guns fire med-gel at you, and with Kinect, you can just shout "DIE" and they comply.

Exactly.

When you meet a tough situation in life that seems so unfair it couldn't have possibly be allowed to happen to you do you cry NERF as well?

Who cares if a Phantom is effective across map with their weapon. I can hit most targets across the map w/ a Carnifex too.
