LOL imagine if your character attends a masquerade ball that ends up going up in flames and you had to escape from it... That would be pretty awesome come to think of it!

@Avejajed:

Nice picture, but I KNEW there was something familiar about it. It's a photoshopped picture, using the water gate of the Dutch city of Amersfoort, the Koppelpoort:

The rest of the photo is, I suspect, also from the Netherlands. Heh.

Good job! I assumed it was photoshopped, but thought it was still cool!

These two pictures really breathe a Tevinter atmosphere for me. Dark and creepy bloodmagic using magister feel to them.
They remind me of the graphics of Koudelka (a gothic horror RPG).

@sjpelkessjpeler : you made me look up the game Koudelka-and now I`m intrigued.Never heard of it before, but will have to try it:O
For gothic-themed environments,I could imagine something "Tim Burton-esque" :
(all photos are from "The Corpse Bride ")

Brushyourteeth likes to see something creepy. This looks like a house of a creepy Tevinter magister to me..
Wow,thanks, that is indeed creepy lol. Could totally imagine this as the home of that equally creepy magister:P
I have found two more gothic candidates : The Powder Tower in Prague, and Catedral Metropolitana de La Plata Inmaculada Concepcion in La Plata,Argentina.

I love this.
Some more surrealism the Fade could benefit from

Okay, a bit off-topic, but I wanted to post this before going off to bed.
Regarding the Van Limburg brothers, who painted the illustrations of the ' Tres Riches Heures' of the Duke of Berry, every two years they have a medieval festival in their honour in their old home city, Nijmegen.
Now, on the grounds of the old Imperial fortress-palace (palts, pfalz), they constructed something monstrous...
and here you see a knight charging the monstrosity.

So if you see Chevaliers charging a giant bunny in DA3, this is where the devs got their idea from :innocent:
Hey lads, i think we are going to need a BİGGER holy granade.

That one you posted for a possible fade castle reminded me of Weisshaupt. I think the main Grey Warden HQ would be even bigger.
I can also see the dark lighted street as being in Orlais or Antiva even.
If we go to Orlais we have to attend a ball! Make it happen Bioware.

There have been SO many amazing pictures that I can't possibly comment on them all! But seriously, I want this place to be my hideout. Mages/Templars will never find me here! Muahaha.Das Tentakel wrote...

And I love this for somewhere like Rivain. I can totally see Isabela coming from a bigger, dirtier version of this town covered in palm trees with fortune tellers on every corner!

And I would have never thought of this, but you're right PurebredCorn -- something like this would be amazing in Orlais. I could actually also see it working in Tevinter, where they're pretty over-the-top in a different way, and very proud of their own brand of Andrastianism. How ironic would it be to see all these slaves shuffling around in the shadow of a gigantic statue of Andraste? I can just imagine Fenris trying not to vomit in rage at the foot of it.
@ sjpelkessjpeler, two of those creepy photos sadly didn't work and I totally want to see them! In real life I'm a super wimp and hate horror movies (when I played the broodmother part of DA:O I had to stay awake for the rest of the night and keep playing till I got to a happy place - LOL) but I have a feeling we'll find ourselves in some pretty mysterious, forbidden places in this next game!
