Poll is here: social.bioware.com/903531/polls/32813/

Full disclosure, I believe that killing Emily Wong on Twitter was one of the most commercial, uninspired, cheap and non artistic things Bioware has ever done. Ever.

When I discovered that this was done to put in a "journalist" from IGN who I believe gained her notoriety only due to her physical appearane and stunts like licking PSP's, it literally blew my mind. I was dumbfounded. But I convinced myself, saying, "maybe they did it because she's just THAT good at voice acting". Yeah. That didn't happen. Horrible, horrible flat and boring voice acting....

Then Tali's face shows up in a photoshopped google picture that doesn't even make sense because Quarians can't survive without their suits on any planet, even if you end their plot in the game the "good" way. It'll take hundreds of years to take a picture of Tali like that, and the fact that Bioware would give us a photoshopped picture of a fan favorite that almost everyone has been waiting for 5-6 years to see, while fully modelling Jessica Chobot (and badly at that) really really pissed me off. It felt like a slap in the face to anyone who loves the ME universe and its richness.

To top it all off, they made Jessica Chobot look extremely bloated and swelled in the face, as if she were a chipmunk, and gave her some sort of badly form fitting dress that makes her look completely awkward and bloated while wearing some sort of hybrid sandal-high heel shoes?

Basically to me they killed a character on TWITTER that was established in the game so they could put in a badly acted, badly modelled, badly dressed character based on a gaming website "journalist" who has her claim to fame by being "that girl that licked a PSP" and who then later went on to insult tens of thousands of ME fans by calling us "entitled whiners" (original I know) to then only retract it (without apologizing) when she realized that repeating IGN's party line finished killing what little fan support she had.

So yeah, I'm biased, I admit it, but I made a poll to see how others feel, I tried to represent as many options (3 serious, 2 a little more "fun", I'm sure you can tell which is which) as possible to have a fair poll.

I think it's important we let Bioware know what we are actually thinking so that no one in the future at Bioware can say "yeah a few people just over reacted".

Because recently they've been doing a lot wrong...and I mean A LOT. <_<

I didn't vote in the poll, because the answers really don't reflect my view on the matter.

I liked Allers, but I did feel perturbed that they killed off a well liked minor character on twitter, rather than resolving her character's story in game. Honestly, I kept expecting Wong to turn up alive and well on Earth during the final mission, so they could resolve things with her properly. Alas, this never happened.

While much of ME3 is a good game, it's yet another way in which parts of the game, justifiably or not, feel like they were decided at the last minute. As in: "Oh crap, what to do with Kal Reegor? Eh, kill him off in an e-mail. Oh crap, what to do with Emily Wong? Eh, kill her off via twitter."

I will say, although, again, I like Allers and don't mind her being in the game, I would have preferred to have Wong on the Normandy. Having a character you already have an attachment to is generally better than introducing an entirely new one.

Don't be so over dramatic. Emily Wong was just another npc, she doesn't "deserve" anything.

Emily Wong meant as little to me as does Allers. both minor characters that lets face it you could ignore entirely.

Seriously, it's been almost two months. Instead of continuing to hash out this same stuff 1,000 times a day, why not come up with some constructive, realistic ideas for the extended cut or beyond? Or maybe just move on to something you actually enjoy?

This isn't just directed at you Bianco, just in general.

I have to admit that chobot being in the game felt cheap and gimmiky. I was just reminded of ign videos when she spoke.

Not everyone played the game the day it was released. Nor did everyone finish the game at the same time.

So, yes, you can expect things to be rehashed to a certain degree, if only because of that.

For the record I think Emily Wong is more attractive than real life Jessica Chobot.

Since ME1, to boot. I already felt iffed that we never get a face-to-face with her in ME2, and then this happened =(

I can give lots of constructive feedback. I can't guarantee whether or not it will be something that can be feasibly implemented though.

Oh definitely. The key phrase there though is "to a certain degree". When it's the same people with the same complaints day after day, and week after week without any constructive ideas, it just gets to be too much.

Fair enough

I'd much rather see that at this point than just tearing everything down.

Personally, I think Allers was a waste of space in ME3. She really had no significant affect on the story, other than a blurb about Shep's actions or being hit on by Traynor. I didn't mind the character persay, but her place in ME3 was not worth Bioware's time to put her in. Even her "romance" was completely laughable and superficial. I think if they didn't have to put her in there, resources could have been allocated to work on stuff the some folks actually care more about than ended up getting borked (Tali's face, Jacob/Thane romances, etc.)

I didnt know who this Chobot dame is, until this controversy happened. From what i have seen she is ok, way too much fuss about her. I agree that her voice acting was mediocre at best but i am more concerned that she is employed by a medium that showed despise to all those people criticizing the bad endings, as she did but was forced to retract her "entitled" and "whiny" comments. That is the reason i no longer use IGN for my gaming information any more.

About Wong, killing minor NPCs via twitter is a really bad idea, not every one use it. They had to do this in a cheap way, and cheap it is. But still is a minor character and this is a minor issue.

As for the Talishop pic, it was another of the countless bad ideas found their way in this game. Seeing a video about Hudson and Walters explaining their decision to put a stock photo made me laugh and wonder if they are really listening to their fans and take account what the fans propose.

As all the above this is a minor issue too, but there are many and come paired with the major issues this game has.

I think the complait goes beyond that. It is more about the principle.

They threw their own integrity away with emily wong and tali and diane allers and then called complainers entitled whiners and then made excuses with artistic integrity. Oh the irony.

It is a sad example of BW priorities today.

I agree with the photoshop, because I can't see a whole race looking like how Tali is represented in the game, but for me I didn't really much care for Emily Wong since she is a very minor character. Kal Reegar on the other hand should be put maybe in DLC(Find him surviving on a planet or something) but I can understand that it could have cost a lot of money for his return.

I could give a damn about Tali's stupid picture, (though it was super lazy and don't let BW tell you differently) but Emily Wong would have been perfect for the Dianna Allers role, more importantly fans wanted her back after ME 2 AND i'm guessing that the role of war correspondent was originally slated for her, until some genius said let's throw an untrained VG reporter into our masterpiece instead of the character players wanted, that'll play well.
