if you got Friends best combo of classes to do  on Gold is Asari  either adapt or Justica (both if you feel like it)  another biotic that can cause biotic explosions   And a Salarian engineer with Decoy  = best tactic  but that works Perfectly well with Firebase white and that combo   i stated if you or friends do that combo you'll do perfectly fine that or you can use infliltrator class to which helps (widow + Infliltrator) = best ^^ friendly Tip  for yea

I believe you only have to make it to the end and then extract.  Though whether or not a full extraction is required is not detailed; assume it is just to be safe.

Well, managed a run on gold on the first try. Was lucky and had a pair of kickass players with me. I just spammed Energy Drain and popped out Decoys while letting others get the actual kills. Only a partial extraction. Tried to follow in the Krogan's wake as he sprinted to the extraction, but a half dozen Flamethrower Geth had other ideas.

(Note to self, SMG + Armor Piercing Ammo = Useless)

I tried to tell people that earlier, but i just got called an idiot for it...
I'd personally just keep playing it till you make it to wave 11 without dying...but thats just me.

A big thank you to the team that helped me through gold. I was in a motorcycle accident earlier this week (Tuesday) and came away with two sprained wrists. I wasn't the best shooter on the team but my salarian decoy diverted a lot o attention away from my more lethal teammates.

..... I got dropped literally as the full extraction timer was at 0:00. A message popped up saying I lost connection to the EA servers and would have to reconnect to access online features of the game. This message is sitting there, even as the background victory music plays and I see the big blue N7 symbol pop up. I press the exit button on the message, returning me to the main menu. I check multiplayer. No credits, no reward, nothing. The victory wasn't counted. That's just one of several late game drops on gold.

.... Guys. Please fix your servers. Please. Pretty, pretty please with sugar and a cherry on top?

I PM'd Chris Priestly about it, he confirmed that all you need is a single person to survive the extraction, and everyone on the team gets the reward.

Are people really still debating this? It's been answered by Bioware during previous N7 weekends, yes, Partial Extraction is good enough, as long as you get a "Mission Successfull" message at the end, the whole squad gets Commendation Packs for it.
I know I shouldn't make claims without proof, so I'll see if I can hunt it down and I'll report back once I have it, but still. This really isn't as much of a debate as it's turning into.

I can only get as far as round 3 in gold. I keep getting pinned between 2 Atlas machines and I am dead again within seconds.

manage to get to the end in 3 oo 8 attempts at gold run. i usually play silver. you need squad mate who will stick together, and not so hung up on getting the kills - players covering all angles vs all going for one area and got blindsided !

i wish more people play like squads vs headless chicken ;-P

Yeah I had a great squad on Firebase White vs Geth. They held the line while I, as the Quarian Infiltrator, was sniping and sabotaging enemies. Then of course everyone held their position whilst I ran around getting the four devices, so it all worked out very nicely :-)

I also tried Gold challenges for the first time, had a lot of surviving until 9th and 10th waves but there was only one game where we actually made it, but that was mainly due to my squad mates - I still need to get used to the higher pressure. Geth engineer is okay but I'll try to level my Krogan vanguard, seems to be a tougher.

Played my first Gold games yesterday, Cerberus at Ghost and Condor. Full extraction on both and everyone's score was of the same order of magnitude so I don't feel like I was being carried. Was well pleased.

I find that the Geth Melee is absolutely devastating against Phantoms. I how i enjoy killing Phantoms.

Done 2 full extraction (no dead teammates), both on Firebase White, one against Cerberus and one against the Geth. So dear Bioware, I better get my f-ing Commendation Pack this time. Capisc'?
