I've had a similar experience...cept i DIDN'T die...

I was a geth engineer, had her down to minimal health so i went into the heavy melee...her health droped to zero, game said i killed her, but then right before she fell we went into the instakill animation...she stabbed me, and i fell over...not completely dead tho, and she fell over, dead...it was weird... 

Strange Yajuu i  had the same thing happen to me as well Except i did  biotic Throw on her instead of   "heavy melee"   >_<   no wait Scratch that it was warp actually  sorry i get confused of which  puts this  biotic aura over em  >_<  lol.... but   yea i wasnt down for the count tho  i was able to revive myself on gold with a medigel  ( was the last one and my friends thought it was over)  i tanked it with the   Vailent Lawl.... XD

Its not crowd control...its stasising a phantom, and anything else annoying you around it.

Has anyone answered or had the question answered as to whether or not your entire squad needs to be extracted or if partial extractions work? I beat gold on Friday night with a group where one went down and bled out during wave 11, so I'm curious.

Atleast 1 person needs to be alive and extracted. Partial extractions, Lone Surviver included.

I'm the groups Phantom hunter. They die so easy when playing with my Adept. Stasis her, 3 shots with a pistol and dead phantom.

I did this too, as a gold virgin with no weapons above III, no less.

Salarian Infiltrator. Energy Drain spam and sneaking across the map to activate devices/raise allies. Never died. Barely noticed a difference from Bronze. Won six medals, usually only get two. Not sure what all the fuss is about.

Completed the thing 3 times earlier today... i actually had forgotten about it :S shame on me lol
Seems there are a lot more phantoms out there than usually, but it might be just me seeing weird stuff...

Anyway... just wanted to point out that i take my hat off for you guys at bioware for beign able to include ps3 players on these events..
Im a pc user, but still it was a pain to see how the ps3 fellows where not included on the other events, as a gamer i can understand how crappy must have been to be left out of the fun.
So.. congrats to ye all for working that out

Try doin that on a different map, with a different charcter...you'll begin to understand.
Firebase White + Geth + Salarian Infiltrator = Gold FARM. lmao
Very valid strategy, but you won't get touched, therefore its not hard.

Yes I laugh at those who claim Gold is easy when they have never stepped foot outside of the room in Firebase White versus Geth.

I will say the difficulty jump from Bronze to Silver seems a bit more drastic than Silver to Gold. Wish they would lower the difficulty on Silver a little.

I usually play silver and for me the jump in difficulty to gold is pretty high. I suppose it is all what you get used to.

Gold is a real game. Other difficulties are warm-up for gold
This weekend showed us that you can play against other opponents, other Maps.
No just gold farm firebase white+geth

Although I don't usually play on gold, I had heard how easy firebase white and geth was. So i purposely avoided that map because i would not feel the satasfaction of completing a gold game.
I ended up getting full extraction Firebase Dagger against cerberus.

Try different map and different enemies, you'll feel the real gold challenge
