Well everyone who participated on any difficulty level (even bronze) this weekend should get the pack for the 1,000,000 phantom kills (if we've reach it, which I am sure we did).

The change of enemies usually happens when the host/leader of the game switched to another enemy after you searched and joined. Happened to me several times.

And you didn't have to kill them on Gold. There's always an easy "Everyone in the world helps with this" operation (this time kill the Phantoms).

And for the more experienced players doing gold runs there was the extra "Survive a Gold untill you get booted off the planet for staying alive too long".

So: 2 packs 1 for all and 1 for the people that you generally see waddling around the waterholes but do not dare to speak to!

Does anyone know what happens when you get thrown into a running (gold) game and you get through it alive until the end? Would that count?

I am asking because it happened to me when I went for gold (WGG) one time. I only tried once because I didn't want to annoy and hinder people with my … skills

Actually, you don't even have to participate; the Victory Pack goes to everyone who has a copy of the game.

I'm pretty sure (but not entirely) that that counts, since the squad goal says successful extraction, not playing a full match, and the whole squad gets the pack even if only one of them gets extracted. So, I don't think how many waves you were in actually matters, as long as you guys got a "Mission Successful" message at the end. Hope that helps

I think Chris is on holiday, so probs why there's the delay in knowing whether the operation was a success or not (though I'm pretty sure it is. 1,000,000 phantoms should be cake)

Yesterday I joined a game at wave 3.   I hear them complaining because their buddy list connection and thy couldn't invite him in (because I was there). So they got themselves killed.   Being the jerk I am, I used rockets to take out targets and made then continue into wave 4.    

Victory!!!!    I blew three rockets for lousy credits but I was still happy...  They could've backed out if they really wanted.

Promotional weapons will be part of the reward   Plus, this is the 1st weekend challenge that PS3ers have been able to participate in. w00t
I'm hoping I get either the N7 Eagle or the N7 Valiant

Why are this packs so important?

Bercause most, if not all, of the people participating in the weekend events, do it for the reward (the packs).  Also you get random "Promotional type" weapon

They start going out at 5 PM PST (GMT -8), like the previous weekend's. It takes time to compile the lists.

I'm not skilled enough to play on Gold normally; but I wanted to try this challenge and not be a drain on teammates. My suggestion, if you want to win on Gold for purposes of a challenge like this (which was my motivation; normally I'm not quite at that level!) is to:

(1) build up your N7 ranking a bit and get some decent weapons (and have a high-level character, ideally level 20 Geth engineer as below) so you don't get kicked out of Gold matches;

(2) level up (on Bronze/Silver) a Geth Engineer with max Geth Turret;

(3) join (or start) a Firebase White game against Geth (or this past weekend, did Cerberus to kill some phantoms but Geth is easier).

You can search and find details about why that base and enemies (Geth means no banshees, brutes, phantoms, nemeses, etc.) , essentially that map allows for "camping" in a control room with enemies only coming in through limited paths, the Geth turret both damages enemies and repairs ally shields, so even if you're not highly skilled you can contribute to the victory. Only tough waves are the ones where you have to go and download etc. stuff (and surviving extraction!).

I wouldn't normally play on Gold with e.g. an infiltrator because I'm not skilled enough to contribute that much (well, maybe a Quarian infiltrator with sabotage against Geth?). But Geth engineer (and maybe Quarian with sentry turret, I haven't unlocked that class) can contribute to a team even with lesser skill.

HMMMMMM... as I recall, they post results, shortly after the event is over <_< (at least for the last 3/only 3 events before this one)
