Sony have been praised for its open platform by many distinguished developers over the last few years. Konami had MGO running for years with its own promotions without Sony's interference. There is also steamworks running on the PS3. Also Dust 516 with it's EVE online connection. Finally all the COD and BF3 promotions running as well on all 3 platforms.

We don't have all the information and what the particular issue actually is.

It could be something like bureaucratic paperwork Bioware didn't fill out in time and it is taking Sony a long time to process it or Sony doesn't like the "Upload Gameplay Feedback" option as it could be seen as giving private information to a third party could be against Sony's TOS.

May be Microsoft don't care about giving private information if players are happy and take no notice.

So it's Phantoms instead of Banshees? Thank god for that.

360
owners, please stop yelling at PS3 owners because we purchased the
superior system. That's not an opinion, it's a fact. The PS3's hardware
is better than the 360's. You don't have to pay to play online and most
games come on one disc. Oh and Blu-Ray.

People who are saying
it's Sony's fault apparently have never seen BF3 because Battlelog can
track the data from the PS3 as well as from the 360 and Origin. So if
DICE can do it, why can't BioWare? I would like to enjoy the product I
paid $88 for, the same as everyone else.

Sorry, could you repeat that?  I couldn't hear you over the sound of millions of credit card details being stolen.

There would be no issue if EA/Bioware/Sony INFORMED PS3 users prior to purchase that there would be no inclusion into ongoing multiplayer events or reward packs. Since PS3 users were sold ME3 on the premise that they were buying the same FUNCTIONAL experience as other platforms, they have sold the product under false pretenses. That's the issue.

To be fair,  I still think Sony had a big part in keeping you out of the loop.  By refusing to work with a company that included your console when they chose what platform to release their product on they are making themself look selfish, and could actually end up hurting their sales.

And I apologise if my jab hurt you - I was trying to shoot down a fanboy before another console war erupted.

??? Don't really know, I wish they (bioware) add some sort of counter to see how many phantoms we all would be killing as the weekend goes, you know 'cause it needs to be a million, although; since it will be any enemy on gold.. I guess 1kill=1phantom? ok then.

I find people raging about how their console is better to be funny. So much pointless rage when they both have such limited capabilities.

Agreed. If I knew, I genuinely would have considered selling my PS3 towards a 360 and buy a gold account just to get the maximum ongoing support for online. I'm mad because there's no way this was a problem that appeared after launch day. The way the issue has been dealt with all but proves that they knew about it before launch and they are trying to minimize the fallout. I'm mad because I was sold a sub-par experience as though it would be the full experience. I even bought the collector's edition because I was proud to support this franchise and these 3 companies. I have been let down by literally all 3. All 3 customer service sections have not done anything to resolve the issue, or even fully admit responsability. I have a thread in the PS3 tech support that is creeping up on a full month now, and it has been pretty much ignored by Bioware staff with any willingness to address the issue.

Oh, and it's okay @SeismicGravy, we cool. Image IPB

Xbox this and PS3 that and blah blah blah.......

I hate fanboys complaining about which system is better. Both are great and each system has there own strengths and weaknesses. Both systems have amazing games and both systems have terrible games. Even the Wii is good in its own right. Sure the Wii doesn't have that great a library of games but there are some gems. All the systems are good and neither one is better then the other. A real gamer would enjoy all of them instead of hating on a system and denying themselves a good gaming experience.

To get back on track. I have ME3 for Xbox but I think PS3 owners have every right to complain. Whether it be to Bioware/EA or Sony. They should be able to play weekend challenges like everyone else. People who say PS3 owners should just be happy they even have ME3 is such an idiotic statement. It just shows your ignorance towards your love of xbox and your hatred for people who own ps3's. Which in and of itself is sheer stupidity because bashing someone else for preferring another system is extremely immature and childish.

So grow up and stop being ignorant and enjoy all of the systems. That's what they were made for. Fun and enjoyment. Not fanboy console wars.

I would also like to add that this weekends challenge will be a piece of cake. A piece of crumb cake.:D

When you release this can you please clarify if by any enemy, you mean we can choose our enemy & map, or do we have to choose random map & random enemy?

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah I don't think so.

I think its like:
- Kill every Phantom you see.
- Pick some random guys and try to beat RANDOM map with RANDOM enemies(or you can pick Geth if you want easy challenge).
- If you have skills with Adepts or Vanguards, better take them instead of anyone else. 2 Adepts + 2 Vanguards(both skilled) can rip through Gold Challenge in 20-25 mins.

UPD:
I read through posts... Come on! Gold isnt that hard, you just have to think a little bit(if you playing on consoles, its going to be difficult) and work as a team!

I have both and I will agree the ps3 might have better hardware, but it is a **** to code for so I usually end up getting games for the xbox because they run WAY better. the playstation versions are usually a bit broken or more glitchy. The exclusives kick ass though, but they are the only ones that really run superbly on that hardware and can take advantage of it.

fanboys get over yourselves. if your happy with your system that's all that matters. don't be a troll.

as for the actuall topic: gold full extraction. ugh... :crying:

PS3 games are usually better graphically because of the better hardware capabilities.  But because it is much harder to program for, it leaves it open for more bugs.  Skyrim, for example, because nigh unplayable on the PS3 after a certain ammount of time.  I was lucky to get 200 hours in before the game ending glitch.  After I got it on PC, however, I had no trouble.  As far as the event status, it is definitely Sony's fault, but not the PS3 console fault.  The companies can not come to an agreement from what I understand.

Oh I agree. It's definitely not the hardwares fault. I got Skyrim for PS3 originally cause I wanted to play it more. But from the get go I could tell something was a miss. It looked so crappy. There was no lush or vibrance to the trees like I saw in the trailer. So I traded it for the xbox version. But the graphics are bettter on the pS3 but only when there is effort put in which isn't too often. Because just like the glitches, the graphics can actually be worse on the PS3 which again is not the hardwares fault. Fallout 3 and Skyrim look terrible on PS3 and I blame Bethesda for that.
So yeah great graphics and such on PS3 but most games aren't given the same care in quality the xbox is given and that is BS. But if there is a better version on pS3 i'm always glad to get it. like Arkahm city. the xbox actually had the glitches like losing saves so i was like f that. the ps3 version of that looks great and plays like butter. most companies are biased. they make for one then port to the other and quality is lost. like final fantasy is far inferior on the xbox. and mass effect is not as good on ps3. they did a really good job trying to make it really good for the ps3, but it is still a bit more glitchy and out of sync. i definitely have me2 on both because the ps3 version does have shadow broker and overlord on disc. big plus. cause when EA shuts down the Mass Effect servers eventually, no more accessing your DLC. hopefully they will come out with a GOTY edition of ME3 so I can get a version on PS3 that has the extended cut and other dlc built onto the disc like ME2. here's hoping.

but back on topic. they really need to get this worked out and give ps3 users access to the events. that is BS.
