I have never tried Silver, let alone Gold. But I think I might venture out of the Bronze this weekend and give some silver / gold a try. Yes, I am a SilverGoldNewb. I'll probably suck, I'm the first to admit, but if there's anybody out there who doesn't mind playing with someone like me (who plays to have fun, not to be the best of the best of the TopGun Best) who just wants to give it a go and not be kicked out or told how much they suck, then my Origin ID is the same as my forum name. Looking forward to it!

The wording on this is extremely ambiguousm but I will ASSUME that they mean that at least one player has to survive Wave 11 and be in the extraction circle for the whole squad to get the credit.

The worst case interpretation, btw, is that throughout the entire game, absolutely no one must die. Ever. In a gold match.

So I'm kinda hoping for the former possibility.

this is the way to go plenty of phantoms to eat on gold, sick of only finding whit gold geth matches. think i will need to troll the gamer tag thread for some new friends as mine kinda suck in gold lol and im so sick getting randoms who dont know how to play. tried to play some gold the other day and could only find 3 games all had host with N& of under 20 one of them was a lvl 1.

Does the challenge mean:

1. All team members survive = bonus
2. Any team member survives = bonus
3. You survive = bonus

What was the % rate for gold matches completed successfully? I remember it was dreadfully low average..

i wonder if the victory packs will be something other than a veteran pack in disguise this time.

also i cant see how it not being on playstation is biowares fault. unless they are asking for access that sony doesnt want to give them for security reasons i doubt bioware has anything to do with it. they should just comeout and say what the problem is. bioware has the worst pr department. actually something tells me it is actually ea's department that handles that stuff seeing as how it is absolutely abysmal.

Huh... Gold... So far tried it once... well, intentionally anyway coz one time, I joined a game without checking the difficulty and turns out all the players (me included) we're newbs to that difficulty setting. No one made it past the first wave.

So far, I have survived up to wave 7 against Cerberus on my second game on Gold. This should be the thing to get me off my scaredy ass to try for realzies.

Also, to clarify, they announced that it is a "Squad" goal to survive, not individual goal. So it should be clear that if at least even one survives for extraction, the squad's succeeded hence everyone on that team gets a commendation pack. 

I'm betting Asari adepts and Batarian sentinels are gonna be quite welcome on any team rocking Cerberus this weekend.

Sounds like fun. Looks like I'll be giving gold a shot. All chars L20 + I have a mic so if anyone on 360 wants to give me a hand just send me a fr...same as forum name. Silver isn't much of an issue so we'll see how gold treats me.

The advice that worked fo me was:  put trying to stay alive over topping the scoreboard. I found that actually helped alot(scored better also; less dying).

IIRC 1% of successful matches were gold.  The problem is, there wasn't any context(what % of all matches are gold, what % of all matches are successful, etc) so it's hard to say what that means.

I bet gold is way less than a third of all matches however.

Doing all of these 'event' weekends is a really smart move on Bioware's hands. It helps keep the multiplayer, let alone the game, still fresh.

It would do a much better job of it if the goals were interesting and the rewards were worth it. The goals given are, quite frankly, cakewalk. We need some challenges that actually change the way you play the game. The victory packs are just normal packs and the N7 weapons are only marginally worth it, if you are so lucky as to get something you can use. Even then you can't level the weapon up without playing challenges for months, which is not an appealing prospect.

I hope there is something better in the pipeline, because this is going to get boring very quickly.

Nice. Phantoms are not as difficult a challenge as brutes (because Reapers overall are a much more difficult faction than Cerberus), but this is most interesting MP event since that brute-killing one.

Cerberus gold? Hells yeah. We got this people.
