I've been planning on a second playthrough - for a month. But it's just not that tempting. I feel like I have to force myself to play it, which is kind of weird, considering the game in itself was pretty fun as I was playing, though very repetitive as the story had an empty feel.

Quite the opposite... Immediately after I was ok with replaying it and hanging around while waitting to see if Bioware had a fix in mind. Now I'm like "meh" and moved on; even if they patch ME3 I dunno if I'll be all that bothered to come back and see what they changed.

The damage has already been done to the story for me and now all that's left is a lacklustre Gears clone.

Thats what i thought.... This multiplayer looks like a gears of war knock off.................. nothing new. All the rolling around i see in multiplayer just looks silly...   Battlefield 3 is the way to go if you want to multiplayer and go to war.

Not run around with 3 others killing bots that are only hard because its just so many of them. The enemies have become boring

Nope. Don't have time and there are better games like Witcher 2. I dislike ME3, not because of ending. It's just mediocre.

I've played through it once, imported two of my other Shep's but I can't find the motivation to finish them. The ending severely damaged the game for me. I've tried playing through ME2 and even that's been hard. I'm waiting for the extended cut, I'm really hoping that it's the saving grace for ME3.

Have played the ME3 campaign more than once. After I posted a LOL moments thread. Played a second play through just for the funnies.

Got Liara's Dad, Blasto and Javiks Trolling. HaHaHa.

Then came up with the ET theory to get me over the ending.

I play rpg games in large part to be taken for a journey through a story, I also play action games & 1st/3rd person shooters which a lot of them now a days are just disjointed huge action set pieces joined together in the bare minimum of a plot for the purpose of exciting game play so I can overlook a lot of things.....I could not overlook the ending of ME3.

Yes I know "It's the journey not the destination" but when the whole point of that journey is to reach a goal and then to find that goal to be so meaningless & confusing was just too much for me, and the longer I tried to make sense of it the more I hated it and wished I never even started the journey to begin with.

Now with the EC coming I will again have reason to play and guardedly hope that this time at the end at the very least I'll be satisfied at having played, but until then I won't go near it.

Ps: ZombieGambit sorry me and the other retakers are acting like drama queens in your book but when something you love gets ruined you tend to get a little dramatic.

Never really got into that phase.
I simply decided that next time i'll play the game, i'm letting Marauder Shields to kill me and be done with it.

Never had one of those. But I doubt I'll play the game again just because there is not much point to it. Plenty of other stuff to play and ME has nothing more to offer now it's ended, been there, done that.

I do not understand what you mean. Your feelings escape my ability to rationalize or emphasize, please clarify what you mean?

Trying to explain emotions is a futile effort, but I shall try.

So, here are the facts:

- All of the previous choices come down to a number based on war assets in ME3, which is the only thing that matters going into the final endgame.
- After 180 of gameplay through ME1, ME2, and ME3, my EMS was sitting around 2400-2500. If I sit down and play 4 hours of Multiplayer, I can double my EMS if it's at that number...I did this on my first playthrough. After my Galactic Readiness was at 100%, I was just above 5000 EMS. So...that means my 4 hours of MP meant just as much as my SP playthroughs.
- No matter what I do, I can't get the ending where Shep lives without MP (the game has been datamined, it isn't possible to get an EMS over 3850 without raising GR, which can only be done with MP).
- No matter what I do, I will always have the same options in the ending because it's only determined by the EMS score if you get the Synthesis option. Control and Destroy are there no matter what. The only variations are if Earth is "saved" or utterly destroyed...and you have to have a very low EMS to destroy it. Nothing else changes according to what I did in the past. It affects maybe a small arbitrary number in my War Assets.

So, when it all ends seemingly without consequence to your prior actions, it doesn't seem like it's worth it to play Shepards with different ways of doing things. I made a Paragade Shepard because I thought it would be interesting to see how that played out. Now I realize that it doesn't matter at all...there's nothing special there for certain combinations of decisions: it's all the same three endings no matter  what. Even then, you can argue the endings all result in basically the same state of the galaxy and same situation. Definitely not like a SM scenario where there is great variation in who lives or dies.

When I feel like everything is futile in the end, it really doesn't give me motivation to play the game again and again. Especially with different Shepards. I used to play the first two games saying, "Well, what if I did this, or what if I did that." Sorry, past self...you were thinking too hard, apparently.

I guess I don't understand how it can not hang over your head...the fact that the conclusion to all you're doing is pretty darn lame considering the outstanding quality of what came before it. The fact it'll end the same for every Shepard you ever created (or, if  you insist the endings are actually different, that all you're doing is funnelled into the same three choices) takes away all the uniqueness of the plot threads you have up until that point. Sure, Mass Effect was always on rails to a certain extent, but I never expected it to turn into "Funnel Effect," where every plot thread is funneled into the same chute for the ending.

I finally got over the ending, and im now im replaying the series. Im on the middle of 3 right now and im having so much fun! These games are amazing.

Sort of... I still hate the ending, but I'm OK with playing the rest of the game.

That said, I'm still not over the potentially "never buying another BioWare game" until some criteria are met, namely:
1. An apology from those directly responsible for writing such a crap ending... (we and they know who they are)
2. Some kind of comment from Hudson on why he decided to end the game this way, and why thus far he's completely ignored ME fans and buggered off on vacation while other people at BioWare take the heat... (or whatever the hell he's up to - 'cause as far as I know we heard precisely zilch from him still)
3. Patches are released to fix the various glitches - in video sequences for example, esp. FemShep (I don't notice half so many with the ManShep... and other glitches.
4. A PROPER fix for the face import issue, esp. AGAIN for the FemShep - you (BioWare) can claim it's fixed all you like, but anyone with eyes can see it's NOT.
5. Whether they pull off a miracle with the EC DLC for the endings and explain all the plot holes - or better yet, just make a new one.

In the end, they had the opportunity to conclude this game epicly and absolutely knock it out of the park, making it the best game of the series. Nope. It's just mediocre through and through, easily the weakest out of the 3. Which is sad, really...I think it had some of the strongest moments in the series, but overall, it was quite weak. Not bad, per se, just weak and definitely didn't live up to its "Most Anticipated" title.

For that reason alone, I think I'll play 1 and 2 again for many years to come after the shock wears off completely...but 3? I think I'll only play it with my main. There's no reason to import all my other Shepards into it. But, that is just my feeling on the matter.

I have been thinking about a second playthrough, but I still don't feel motivated to go through it. I enjoyed the journey a lot, but I still dislike the similar endings too much. Maybe with some distance I change my mind. At least I enjoy the MP with friends, so the money isn't totally wasted and who knows maybe with the extended endings coming, I might change my mind.
Besides that I have SW:TOR and a lot of other games to play :)

I had a brief mindset where I thought I wouldn't want to replay at all, ever, but since March I've replayed the first game once, ME2 twice and ME3 three times, so... yes.

No, Mass Effect 3 was the last Mass Effect game for me. This was something I decided for myself even before the third game was released.

I'm on my third playthrough of ME3. Same character, just pulling him through NG+ with the face I made for him back in ME1 and just couldn't duplicate until they finally fixed the import function.

Getting screenies. Gonna make a slide-show. Write some headcanon fiction. Maybe I'll make an AMV.

This'll probably be my last playthrough until I see the Extended Cut DLC, though... I don't have the heart to put the rest of my characters through that nihilistic mess. Not yet.

As for ME1-ME2, I have no desire to replay until they fix the ending.

Will still play Multiplayer, though. But SP, as it stands, is just too tainted.

It is supposed to be the best for my majesty(!) Then I realize someone ugly has cheated and worn the shoes. So I'm p*ssed off!

I don't get how multiple playthroughs of the same crap could eventually make you LIKE that crap. It's like forcing your mind to accept something your gut feelings scream 'hell no!' to.

I did a second playthrough because on my first, I played SP only and could not get the required EMS for the "Shepard breathes" scene. So did a second run over 3 weeks integrating MP. I'll stop there, unless the EC fixes the ending, as the current ending just hovers over the whole experience. I had 8 ME1/ME2 Sheps ready for import, but I'm just not tempted to go through that ending a third time, let alone six.

I haven't touched it for a month or so, I've moved on to greener pastures and have been playing other games.
