I played ME:1 thrice (Top-notch game. Waited eagerly for the sequals.)
ME:2 twice (Some plot-holes and weak narritive but still good.Excellent music.)
I only played ME:3 once.
When I saw the ending, I checked youtube for the other endings just in case I screwed something up. Shortly thereafter, I took all 3 cases and DVDs shooting with me.
They're in the trash now, riddled with .45 caliber bullet holes.
After DA:2 and the huge narrative failure that was ME:3 and its ending, I'm not only done with Mass effect, I'm done with Bioware.
I'm still here lurking around though. I enjoyed many of Biowares titles over the years. I feel I owe them poll responses, feedback, something, I dunno.. Why do I still check this forum? Bioware is over, just like Bullfrog and Westwood and all the other greats that were consumed by EA and bled to death for every penny their fan-bases were worth.
Same emotions here. I visit this forum... hoping for the best but knowing that nothing will change.

I'm not letting some ending ruin the series that hooked me on right after first cutscene and the fact that it have a well developed setting like Dragon Age and The Elder Scrolls made it very interesting to read the codices and listen to in-game dialogue that could give me a hint on lesser details about species.

No, I turn off the part of my brain responsible for reason and logic and forget ME1/ME2, therefore I can play ME3.
This is the only way to being able to play it, actually.

Still more drama, still more weak people in this thread. Looking forward to whether the des will stick to their current plan for extended cut or if they really do end up changing the endings. Still early enough in preproduction for them to do so, will probably not tell fandom about change of plans till after extended cut is out.
You know, I lurk BSN these days more than anything else, sometimes participating in a thread with one or two replies, but that's it.
But every time I see a reply from you is a)offending someone or b)telling how good the game and ends are, therefore all other people's opinions are invalid.
Some people don't understand how so many fans can still continue to care about the game if it's so bad and I tell you, ME3 it's not a good game and not only the end has problems.
It has a very irregular pace, some arcs are very weak and the endings are a let down.
If you really think about it is crazy, because the choices of ME1 also didn't had a single impact at ME2 apart some very few not important sidequests, the RPG was almost completelly removed and yet ME2 looks like a masterpiece when compared with ME3.
There's one thing Bioware did that very few game studios achieved and that's why people still come to these boards and voice their opinions: they nurtured their fans and community, they allow them to voice their opinions even if it's bad or harsh and they listen to them.
There are very few game companies wich also achieved this to my knowledge and they are iD Software before the sell to Zenimax, Valve, Black Isle and Obsidian. Bethesda is another company that needs to be cited, but they prefer to maintain a certain distance to their fans and only involve with them in some circumstances.
Fallout 1 & 2 are examples of how this relationship can bring fruition and Fallout: New Vegas is a direct result the fans of the original series voicing their opinions about how bad FO3 is relating to the original games.
Quake 2 is a game released for people not interested only in MP wich is basically what the first Quake is about, but also in SP on FPS games.
Valve devs listen heavy to their audience and also nurtered them just like Bioware.
Is not about being a drone, deluled fan or whatever, but when you involve people in the construction of something they usually care more about it.
Look at what inXiIe is doing: the company asked the players what type of games they want, the players told them wich and how the game should be, the players pay them do developed the game and the players will pay them again after the game is finished!
This way we will have a game called Wasteland 2 wich will be ISO and TB, not FPS/TPS and live action.
But guess what, you need credibility and trust to do this and Bioware take'd advantage from players with some practices included in ME3, some of those practices the devs promising would not be included.
That's why you have so visceral responses from some people to the good or bad things these companies do.

I finally got over the ending, and im now im replaying the series. Im on the middle of 3 right now and im having so much fun! These games are amazing.
I'm still dangling ME3 from a rope over the edge of a firey volcano. If the EC DLC gives me an option for Shep and his crew to survive i shall haul the game back up and give it a hug. And most likely buy all future DLC.
If the EC DLC screws just as bad as the current ending then i shall let go of the rope and watch the game burn. BiowEAre will see no more money from me.

But at around halfway through, I just couldn't do it. All I could think about is why am I spending my free time forcing my way through a game that will just inevitably end with ME3's retarded ending. There's a bunch of new games out there (Witcher 2, Risen 2, etc.) that I can play instead.
That's where I'm at now. It's not even anger or hatred at this point. My interest in Mass Effect has simply just disappeared. I feel indifferent toward the series now; I get to the point of putting the disc in the drive, only to then decide I have no motivation to actually play it. It's the first time I could say that about a BioWare game/series.

Since you realize that your opinion is "crazy," you might want to consider whether your problems with ME3 really are what you think they are. If the things that bother you about ME3 didn't bother you in ME2, there's something seriously wrong.
And you're right about the endings. Bio did in ME3 what they always do. All choices from the earlier parts of the game funnel you into three big choices that are the same for everyone. Unless you have fewer than three choices, like in KotOR where you have two choices, or like in NWN and BG1 and BG2 where you have no choices whatsoever and everyone gets the same ending.

Well good for you. I suggest stopping playing ME3 when you reach Marauder Shields, as the game become unreckonable at that point.
I am replaying ME2 on hardcore difficulty. I love Mass Effect 2. It's one of my favorite games of all time. There's no need for me to regard Mass Effect 3 when you are given the option to conclude Commander Shepard's story through martydom in the Suicide Mission. At that point, my commander Shepard's tale has ended and whatever narrative, and events happens from there cannot be explained by Mass Effect 3. Instead, Mass Effect 2 will be the end of the seires for me.

Yea! I guess it was silly for us Bioware fans to think that Mass Effect 3's ending would be different than how Bioware's ended their other games.

The ending of ME3 just pretty much makes me not want to play it.
It's like getting to the end of a rainbow and finding no gold when you've been told there will be.
The rachni choice really annoyed me. Those who know what im talking about should understand

Vowing to never play ME again is more spiting your own face, the money has already been spent. No, my intention is more along the lines of not buying any ME3 DLCs and actively having no interest in 'whatever' Bioware's next game is.

Uhh, this product wasn't free.
When a product is a narrative, it's pretty reasonable to expect it to be at least a little coherant and logical. The narrative I purchased from Bioware utterly fell apart. It's no differant than any other product falling apart shortly after you get it home.
So yes, I feel slighted. Just like Mr. Coffee slighted me when they used an inferior thermostat in the coffee maker I purchased 2 months ago.
They at least gave me a new one for free. What has Bioware done to make up for their mistake? Call me "stupid" for not "getting it"?
If a company can no longer produce a quality product, I won't purchase from them in the future. Pretty simple.
