I havent played Diablo 1 and 2, but I played the Beta of 3 and it inspired me to buy it.

Yes, the graphics is bad and the gameplay more simplistic than I usually enjoy. However, for some reason it was still incredibly funny and entertaining, and it really got me looking forward for more (the beta was pretty short after all...).

And that - fun and entertainment - is the most important thing about gaming, after all.

That's the most important thing for only half the (potential) gamers. ;)

Yes, and that is one of the reasons why so many gamers are utter retards.:wizard:

What do you think of the original two Diablos? (if you haven't tried them, you should - the story and characters were much more engrossing, if not a little too silent for some)

snip

Also, when I say "too silent for some", I mean it literally. They don't speak much. Not in text nor in voice. And why should they become your heartfriend and tell all there is to tell about themselves? It is a sad world, not the bloomy usual RPG. The lack of text really didn't mar this game - it was a gruesome and very primal world, and really believable at that (I would say "alive", if it weren't a misuse of the world, or at least neglectance of half its meaning)

If the world had demons and apocalyptic happenings, heroics and stuff, I believe it would feel very close to Diablo.

Well I'll probably try the two some day then and I must say I like the artstyle of the first one:

I can't judge it until I've played it.. BUT I must admit that I've been craving a good co-op hack'n'slash game for quite some time now,...

I was fortunate enough to be a beta tester and playing through a tiny portion of the game convinced me to pre-order the collector's edition. I think DIII, hands down, is one of the best action RPGs to come along in years (and I say this just based on beta).

Just wondering, on Wikipedia, it says Diablo series is a horror game. How is this a horror game? Is there actual jumps?

Well the series was always meant to be horror esque but honestly all 3 games have failed in that department unless D3 changes it.

It calls it a dark fantasy/horror-themed action role-playing game rather than a horror game.

I guess it is horror-themed considering it's set in a world where demons run about amock.

personally I love Diablo 3's graphics, Diablo 2's color palette was an eyesore.

I don't even know what the game's about, or what it looks like. I've seen the boxart, and the trailer.

If it follows the original game which i'm sure it does...i'm not interested. I never saw the appeal of that genre.

Go to dungeon, kill everything, loot. Return to town, sell stuff. Repeat.

I think they just randomly categorize games now, much like they put a bunch of non-RPG's into the RPG category to make it look bigger.

Ya know, if the combat was somewhat tactical and interesting, like in the Wizardry, Gold Box, ToEE, Icewind Dale games,. say, rather than just clicking on things one after another after another mindlessly , I have no problem with combat heavy dungeon crawlers.

Even an action style dungeon crawler like Dark Souls is cool because it's not a button masher.

Dunno. From a graphics/gameplay/atmosphere standpoint the beta failed to impress. Though proponents of the game promise it opens up especially in the character development dept. a way through.

The major review mags/sites are going give it a bunch of 10/10's and 97% regardless if the bloody thing wiped your master partition or not-so I ain't trustin' them. Given that, I'm going to let my friends dink around with it for a couple months before I make a decision on it.

I wasn't sure about the artstyle or the simplifying of character levelling for ages, but after reading about the rune system I think the tactical aspect of altering your skills could work well. A lot of long term RPG players aren't happy about this recent move away from attributes in games, but I don't think it really harmed Skyrim personally so I will give this a chance. Skill trees have been done to death by Blizzard now so it's time for a new system.

As for the artstyle, I would have prefered a darker grittier feel but at least it looks colourful without losing its gothic style too much.

I'll judge the game properly when I actually play it.

Not really disappointed, it's a decent game but it never caught my interest for a prolonged period of time. I just completed it once and grew bored over it quite fast
