It's because it was never intended to appear if you didn't romance her.

LOL... Liara pushed herself on you in ME1 as well. She made her motives about that quite clear in ME2 during the Shadow Broker addon. No surprise in ME3. Although personally she never pushed herself on me in ME3 so I am curious about this.

The sad thing is that unlike the Aethyta thing, the end flashback showing Liara instead of your LI isn't a bug. They just couldn't be bothered otherwise.

They really do. I mean, I stuck with Liara from ME1, but damn, even if I hadn't in my brother's play through where he romanced Miranda, Liara was RIGHT THERE all teh time. Crazy.

True. I just don't understand why BioWare couldn't make a two second clip each for every LI. It's sad, really.

They wanted to make that part on par in terms of quality with the rest of the ending, I suppose.

It did the same thing on my canon I've had since ME1 was still a new-ish game. I romanced Ash, and I always had that profile that was faithful to her. Liara was still always there with Shepard, but I never saw it as a problem. She's like his best friend. She's the only character who cares about Shepard no matter what he does. I think her being important to the game makes sense. Even though I was with Ash, I was happy to have Liara there the entire time.

Quit whining about Liara. She is not forced on you, or else the game would literally leave you no choice at all in the end, instead of a few small hints.

I didn't think it was as bad as the way ME2 forced Jacob on femShep. That was seriously obnoxious. At least Liara is an interesting character

I don't mean to be hateing on Liara. But she really isn't terribly important to the game in my opinion, I think Tali, Legion, Garrus or Wrex are more important in terms of war assets or helping Shepard. Plus there are times were I can't stand her character. After Thessia, and thoughout Mass Effect 2.

I guess I'm just bias.

Really? It wasn't forced at all. I mean Jacob is no where near Anders.

This may be because it's impossible for Shepard to do anything she doesn't like, be mean to her, or kill her.

My Shepard has a brother-sister type relationship going with Liara, and that plays out quite well in ME3 based on my playthrough.

She's the Shadow Broker, which in itself is a HUGE deal. Tali, Legion, Garrus, and Wrex can all be replaced in ME3, so it's obvious that what they did wasn't something only they could do. Liara is kept alive throughtout the series because she's important.

And after Thessia? She's upset that her people are being wiped out. Anyone would be. Even on my Ashley romance profile I felt terrible after that mission. It was a loss. Defeat. Bitter defeat I might add. She's a scientist, not a soldier. Death doesn't come naturally. Especially not in large numbers like that.

During ME2 she's just a Broker. I can't see how she could annoy you there, because she has very little to say. Lair of the Shadow Broker actually brings her back towards her old character. Shepard even calls her out for asking him to do meaningless tasks, and she doesn't know how to respond.

For me, the irony is that in LoTSB, when you look at the Liara romance vs. Liara non-romance endings, the non-romance ending is actually more touching (figuratively speaking) than the romance ending. They certainly play up the "what could have been" in the non-romance path, but you get the impression they are nothing but close friends there.

Can't argue with that lol I just felt like I couldn't even have a simple innocent conversation with him without my femShep sounding like she was gonna rape him at any second. And since she had romanced Liara since ME1 and was flirting with Kelly, it was just awkward.

It's sci-fi. Sci-fi needs scientists. Liara's the only one on your crew. In ME1 you had Mordin, but he's gone, so...

I guess they could have had Miss Cameltoebot interupt you more instead.  I don't think Liara interrupts you anymore than Admiral Hackett.
