Everyone should remember that no matter how badly you treat Liara in ME1, without her Shep would be a Reaper corpse. No one else came to save you, no one.
THEY really force liara on you in this game.

Yeah, you're gross. Anyway, without her there'd be no ME2 or ME3. Take that as you will.

No? I was talking about Liara being a obsessive person and went out on the hunt for Sheps body.
Simply because shes obsessive.
Get your dirty mind out of the gutter.

Oh please, Cerberus had already tracked Shepard down; Liara just ran around yelling SHEPARD and destroying stuff. She was basically shoved in so fans could feel a connection to the original team in getting Shepard back.

How more ridiculous can this forum get? So an NPC calls you Liara's boyfriend... a bug? Maybe, but ****, it's nothing to die over for. You can just assume that Liara's 'dad' *thinks* your her boyfriend because of your close friendship.
Jeez <_<
No seriously... it's like people LIKE to go into the cracks of ME3 and find little bits to throw at people's faces whilst crying out "LAZY!" "IMCOMPITENT!" and "USELESS!" One thing is an ending that utterly destroys you, and the other is just obnoxious nitpicking.

It still doesn't change the fact that Liara recovers Shepard's corpse.
Or would you also claim that Shepard deserves no credit for the victories at Virmire or the Collector Base, because he recieved crucial intel from the Salarian STG and Cerberus? It is the STG that tracks Saren to Virmire (and comes up with the bomb plan) and it is Cerberus that discovers the means of safely navigating the Omega IV Relay. (Reaper IFF)

I was hoping for more Zaeed, Wrex and Grunt. Seeing how awesome Grunt is in ME3.............then finding out he's not even recruitable@!!@
or Samara?? be nice to have an Justicar then a WHOLE new character named vega....
really Bioware??? There's a lot of fans who would've been very pleased if you just kept the same characters and focus on them instead of introducing new characters.....
Miranda - Neglected
Thane - not only was he killed but hardly even in game
Zaeed, Grunt, Wrex - been nice to have more screentime
Harbinger!!!???--------- am I the only one who was hoping for a actual talk scene and showdown with him????
yeah.....disappointed that Liara was giving so much emphasis. Would have gladly waited another Year if all this could've been avoided

Point missed.
Liara wasn't invaluable; Cerberus was already following TSB and his meeting with the Collectors. I'm sure if Liara was dead somewhere Cerberus, with it's crapton of resources and operatives would have gotten Shepard. Just as a different Spectre could have completed the Virmire mission, and a different Cerberus squad could have completed the Collector Base assult.
So yes, someone else, such as Miranda, could have recovered Shepard's corpse. Liara was just used as a team link.

I think one the main reasons TIM went with Liara (besides being a powerful biotic) was that she had an emotional connection to Shepard. If things got too hairy, he needed someone who would be willing to risk their own life if necessary to recover the corpse, and this is less likely to happen with someone who wasn't one of Shepard's comrades-in-arms.
In that I think TIM proved to be both an excellent judge of what tools are needed for the task at and, and to be a master manipulator.
His only other options besides Liara, IMO, was Garrus. Like Liara Garrus had the necessary skillset and an emotional connection to Shepard.
While Wrex, Tali, and the Virmire survivor all had an emotional connection to Shepard as well, Wrex was busy seizing control of Clan Urdnot and Tuchanka, the Virmire Survivor was active duty military and as such doesn't have freedom of moment, and Tali was likely back with the Migrant Fleet. That, and neither Tali or the Virmire Survivor was likely to even speak to any of TIM's agents in the first place, as they both hate Cerberus. With Tali & the VS, TIM probably doesn't even get an oppurtunity to make a sales pitch.

True; she is rather enamoured of Shepard, regardless of how much of an ass you are to her.
I think that's what bothers a lot of people; she's still your SUPA BEST FREND in ME3, no matter how much you dislike her. You can barely be rude to her in ME3, only saying "Don't wanna talk about that" when she comes up to your cabin and being refered to as her lover without being able to rebuke it.

Maybe she went for the whole proper burial thing. Then Cerberus was all "We can save him! We have the technology!"

Liara even if you are not interested in her as LI stills falls in love with Shepard, I think thats why on ME3 we think she is forcing a relationship with shep, but she isnt, she just loves him/her and do everything for him/her, but she still respects and encorage Sheps relation with the LI you chose (or I last she did in my play after Shadowbroker) So i dont think its wrong all the scenes we got with her as friends (she is like my sister in my play hehe i like her) , i think its wrong we dont get as many scenes with the LI we chose for our Shep
Here's the thing, you like her, i just think she is creepy or at the very best a weirdo (keeping in mind that on my very first playthrough of ME1 i romanced her, or more correctly had a one night stand).
I want nothing but to distance myself from her and be with Miranda, but she is on the ship and keeps having those friend talks... and there is no option for "look, let's just keep this professional from now on".
You can do that to the "dreaded" Cortez and he never opens his mouth again, perfect.

They were lazy making new scenes, its just copy paste from Liara romance scene. Also Liara is now new Canon romance and if BW says so we comply

Liara must always live, is the canon LI since she can do both genders, and will always worship Shepard and agree with everything you say or do.
It's a shame, I prefer Ashley. Her mistreatment was huge while Liara was giving not only cookies but cake and chocolate milk too.

If you romanced Tali in ME2, Liara admits she knew Tali had a thing for Shepard in ME1 (Tali later admits it was pretty much love at first sight with her for Shepard). Shepard asks Liara why she never told him and Liara says she didn't want the competition.
Simply put Liara knows what she wants and is very competitive.

I think it only happened in certain scenarios. For me I did NOT romance anyone in ME1 (I did that on my third play through - already had achievement) and then in ME2 romanced Tali.
I found this video on YouTube. Skip to the just before the 4:00 minute mark. That is where Liara tells you she has always known Tali had a thing for Shepard since ME1 and that she didn't want Tali as competition.
Also if you dont romance anyone in ME1 Liara tells you that she thinks Ash like Kaidan. This is later reflected on Ash's call from her sisters where they say Kaidan is cute (instead of you if you romanced Ash).
