As the title says, when I enter combat mode, the volume of sound effects and the music becomes deafening, forcing me to pause and lower
it.

There is a solution to this problem? is really annoying! not to mention the fact that it can cause hearing damage for those who wear headphones ...

thanks in advance :)

I wear headphones all the time and I don't find it a problem...

You can set the volume in the settings I suppose, no other way to do it... Or manually turn down your speakers instead of the game sound...

I second that. The volume is way to loud in combat. Maybe something for the next patch?

I browsed the net, and the problem is widely reported (should i link here or is not allowed?), i'm surprised no one posted a fix until now, considering how trublesome can be this.

Anyway, the way look like, this problem seem a bug not a volume adjustment issue.

Really hope someone post a fix.

Yeah, the combat volume is my pet peeve for this game. I have to crank it to hear conversations, then two seconds later when I get mugged again, Mr. Darkspawn says "RAAAAAWR" and my ears begin to bleed.

I've had this problem since forever. I usually wear headphones and then it's not a huge deal ..but when I don't want to wear them I have to constantly change the volume or my wife gets extremely upset..it's quite a pain to have to lower it every time a fight starts then raise it back after..

Add it to the long list.

Quoted for truth and to try and save my own bleeding ears. I'm running a 7.1 channel speaker set, and even with them the voice / ambient sounds are incredibly soft, but in-combat music and effects jump in volume by 200% as soon as an encounter starts.

Annoying.

Fourth thread on this subject to appear now in the last 3 weeks hehe.

And yes, its still bloody annoying, my single biggest annoyance with the game.

Yep, it's way too loud. Should expect a slight increase in volume to switch on the adrenaline etc but at the moment it's overkill.

I replied to a thread elsewhere about removing the combat music altogether as it's really very unpleasant, but actually if it was played at anything approaching a sane volume that would at least be an improvement. I often just take my headphones off, though that may mean missing some audio cues.

I agree. I have to play with the music turned down so the combat music's tone is normal. Alas, I can barely hear the areas' music.

Hope that Bioware can do something about it in the near future.

Same thing here so I keep the music disabled, which is a shame because the non-combat music is pleasant. On the other hand, I find the combat music in Divinity 2 to be relaxing lol.

I've actually been told I am deaf several times to due the changing battle music volume. Adjusting the volume up and down drove me mad eventually......so now there is no DAO music in my world.

I AGREE. Way too much dynamic contrast in the audio between combat and normal. Google brought me here. There must be some sort of volume mod by now! What a gross oversight by the developers and beta testers!

Agreed! When I play during the evenings and nights I use headphones and it's not a big problem, but when I play during the day I use speakers and have an open window and I have to adjust the volume to not disturb people outside.

Replying to old threads rules. My ears also bleed from this.

Did anybody ever figure out a fix? Is this something a game mod could fix or adjust?

I suppose we're never getting a fix for this -- it's an issue on the PC and the PS3 versions of the game, and so far as I can tell, BioWare hasn't even acknowledged that it's an issue. Must be EA's influence showing there. :X
