 I feel pretty ripped off.

1) Powers > Weapons on Gold:
Especially on anything that isn't Gold Geth FB:W.  Only few exceptions seem to be SI with Widow/BW because of the shield gating.  But I feel this is mostly because 90% of weapons still suck.

2) The God**** Character cards:
I keep getting them.  Even on ones at lvl 20, all appearances maxed out.  I would understand if everything, all weapons, all mods were maxed, but honestly, it is of ****ing use to no one for me to get such cards in such conditions.  I'd be happy to get Rank III bonus power cards(ammo, armor, power) in lieu of them when everything is maxed.  In fact, Rank III power cards should be modified to Gold status.  Surely it would make more sense to give people something at least somewhat useful?  You won't even have to touch the N7 drop rates with this.  Which brings me to my next point...

3) N7 weapons are generally not worth the wait.
The reason being that weapons are horribly unbalanced and a few uncommon and gold weapons will outdamage an N7 one.  The second reason being that N7 weaps are incredibly hard to upgrade.  The Saber is quite useless next to the Carnifex, and it'll be easier for me to get the Carnifex to X than the Saber to III.  The weight simply isn't worth it, and the horrible rate of fire limits it to the Turian Soldier.  But it's not a case of making a good weapon great so much as minimizing its flaws.  A Mattock would be much better(this is especially insulting).  Given that I've only unlocked 4 N7 weapons, not a one of them over III, I feel the N7 weapons should in principle be more powerful than any uncommon or rare weapon in its category(i.e. Saber better than any AR) at rank I.  Given current chances for getting an N7 card, I have little incentive to purchase more packs in an attempt to get any of them to rank X.

These 3 points have removed all incentive for me to buy packs in the future, and I can certainly understand why players exploit the system to get credits given how broken it all is.

No kidding. I could think of much more entertaining uses for $150

I've been saying for some time now, once you max all the rares, don't bother chasing after N7s. It's a waste of time, credits, and maybe real money.

Wait. Are you telling me you spent $150 on Spectre packs? Play the game like everyone else, have fun, and just enjoy the game.

Honestly, BW needs to change the pack system so that you stop getting character cards once you max out a class and unlock all their appearance options. I think the reason they haven't is b/c everyone who already maxed out their rares would get a ton of reset cards/rare equipment, thus getting rid of the incentives of promoting (what little there are).

And boy, you must have quite an income if you don't mind spending that much on a game that will obsolete this time next year.

When did you start to feel ripped off? Was it at approximately $150?

Thanks for future free DLC!

My friend has so much luck on the store system. He spent $10 and got a BW. Then bought a Resurgance pack with in-game credits; got a Widow. I was pissed.

You deserve the crappy stuff you got because you are one of those people who is destroying the gaming industry. People blame developers/publishers but they are just giving what people like you want, it's not their fault.

RNG is RNG.

What a waste of money... Could of unlock stuff just by playing. I do agree that character cards need to be replace with consumeables if you unlock all outfits and is level 20.

If consumables replaced cards at level 20/max appearance unlocks, maybe people would actually start using them all the time.

You just recently spent $150 on ... Spectre packs, or Resurgence Packs? Because Resurgence packs are not the same as Premium Spectre Packs; specifically because one of the two guaranteed rares is going to be a Resurgence item, and when you've maxed out all three weapons to level X, you will *always* get one rare character card, and that would explain your getting lots and lots of character cards. It's because you will eventually *always get a character card* from Resurgence Packs.

In all seriousness, thanks to the OP for spending cash on this as it makes up for the paltry $12 I've spent (most of which I got free from the xbox rewards program).  While I do feel for you in the sense that getting duplicates on characters suck (I've gotten a single n7 weapon from the last 30 or so premium and regular spectre packs I've bought with credits so I do understand), your purchases make the bean counters at EA happy.  When the bean counters are happy, they let the programmers release free DLC (albeit with more randomized content).

Keep on promoting, thats why their is gold character gold, fast 100k experience boosts, really ups your levels if you keep on promoting. Its actually fun to build, and rebuild etc.

I threw down some money on packs right when the DLC hit, so I think you guys are ****s for judging. It wasn't nearly that much, but to each their own.

Anyway, as was already said, if you aren't promised, up front, of a different experience if you pay real cash, don't expect it. People already have threads about the store system being annoying. Spending real money like this isn't going to have them listen to you more.

A fine example: I had two of my premium box purchases (with real money) not go through. EA support basically told me that I'll get them when they fix the problem. I know that's not going to happen, because they didn't give me a ticket number and I can promise you that the game isn't keeping track, because if it was, it would have given me the damn box.

So honestly, if you spent $150 and ALL your purchases worked properly? You're in a better spot than most, because I know a lot of people in my boat that spent a lot more money. You paid for something and got it, even if it wasn't as satisfying as you had hoped. We paid for something and got bent over.

you spent 150 actual USD on chances for random video game items when you could have got the exact same chances at the exact same odds for free had you just played the video game you already paid for?

you're a real sucker. that being said, since you seem like the kinda person who doesnt mind throwing a little money around, i've got some space on the moon i've been looking to rent out. i'll even give you a discount. just shoot me a PM and we can iron out the details.

Speaking as someone who works 40 hours a week, I really don't have much time to grind 6 hours a day for credits, even at FB:W, which feels like a chore.  Now if you're encouraging me to exploit the current bug for credits, I would, but it's not much in my personality to do so(yeah, I'm weird that way).  Know however that I have the utmost sympathy for those who do, simply because Bioware has such an assbackward "store" system designed to push the general population to exploit everything possible.

Not expecting it.  Just figure Bioware might have some interest in more effective ways to gain revenue.

My explaining that the purchase of packs isn't worth real money to anyone willing to pay for them is sure to drive away business:whistle:.

TheChosen0ne wrote...

My personal opinion is that the general population of Africa should be castrated for their stupidity in having more kids when they can't feed them.

PS3 doesn't have Resurgence Packs, and I've already unlocked every character and got the Kishock and Striker AR at X.  So we got the PSPs back this week instead.

I've paid my bills and have literally ZERO debt.  College loans all paid off.  I find it helpful not having a car(don't trust myself to drive anyways), not eating out, and not smoking or drinking.

If I can afford it and don't owe anyone any money AND have a steady job, does it matter what I spend my money on?

You guys think this is bad, you probably don't want to hear about my $1,000 custom made knife or $600 custom made flashlight that lights up the entire park at night, but is small enough to fit in the palm of my hand.

Don't worry about these trolls, they don't understand that not everyone is in financial ruin or living off their parents. If you want to spend money on a game you enjoy playing more power to you, they are just jealous that you can so they flame.

Wow so much hate for a guy spending money on what he wants to spend it on. These same people would probably be angry and annoyed if someone said the same thing about them wasting their money on video games in the first place. If he has $150 to spend on PSPs and feels it's worth it instead of spending god knows how many hours it would take to buy 50 of them then more power to him.
