The GPS might be the 'best' weapon in the game. It is easy to use, has autoaim, ignores Guardian shields and can be charged or not charged, lastly it has a nice stagger effect. I have begn to wonder if people who use it are not being deceived into believing that the class they are playing is very good or in reality the GPS is very good. Simply stated the GPS makes ANY class viable, thus removing the challenge of developing class specific skills in order to improve and better said class. People then have a distorted and inaccurate perception of the classes. I call this the GPS deception.

Yes, GPS is nice in that anyone rocking it becomes gold viable, irrespective of class.

Exactly my point, the GPS makes any class great but the question is, is the class great or are your skills there? or is the GPS doing all the work?

The GPS does not ignore guardian shields ... Kishok harpoon does ...Perhaps you meant it ignores the shield gatting mechanic ...

The gps has heaps of advantages but i have one big problem with it.
Visual satisfaction is not that great. Seriously, there is nothing like frail salarian calmy reloding
claymore while looking at charging brute.
Gps is just boring to play with

So what about the Graal Deception?

I seem to recall you OP making a thread a while back that essentially argued anything the GPS does, the Graal can do better. Except for the auto-aim part.

Yes.

This DOES NOT mean that anyone using the GPS is some sort of unskilled noob. It just means that the GPS can make subpar classes more viable.

There are a list of weapons that can do great on any class, the GPS just happens to be slightly better than all of them.

Though in the case of Soldiers, a weapon based class being great because of a great weapon is kind of working as intended, I would say. They are weapon based, after-all.

No, I actually only argued that the Graal is better for headshotting.

that's called the OP's deception and the gps doesn't always ignore guardian's shields but it does sometimes - i think you have to make sure one of the pellets goes near the "mail slot" of the shield.

I know what Stardusk is talking about with guardian shields. If it's not penetrating the shield itself, it's auto-aiming right through the mail slot. You can easily prang guardians in one shot with the GPS.

Check the video I linked - you say you actually need to AIM for the mail slot ...Shoting without aim at the shield has no effect (even at full charge) .. How is this different than it is for any other weapon that lacks penetration (allmighty graal included )  ?

dude we are telling you: you can kill a guardian through the shield with GPS. if you don't believe us go try it 10 times and 5 out of those 10 times it will work

p.s. i said i THINK you need to make sure the pellet goes through the mail slot but since the weapon's aim is automatic ... all i know is they die - sometimes from 1 burst - it's weird i know

I can tell you as someone who mains GE and Krogans that without the graal or GPS I would not still be playing this game, because without these weapons these classes (except KV) would be completely useless on gold, esp vs reaps.

dude you can kill a guardian trough the shield with ANY weapon 10 out of 10 times ..IF you aim for the mail slot ... Shoting at the shield without aiming will not do it ...

The GPS aim is not auto F#$%#$% magic - check the video again ... ...You need to AIM for the mail slot...

Also, GPS doesn't do crap to big enemies on gold (hell even silver)

Still haven't unlocked Graal. Please forgive me. I'll have to stick with GPS until then,.
