GPS doesn't allow headshots at all.

You can get head shot on geth primes with a little luck if you are above them and you can aim at the giant orange bubble on an atlas not sure if you get more damage like with a normal gun but its fun to try.

Its the same trick as Mail Slotting Guardians with the GPS. You can sometimes get the projectiles to track into the head area of a target and get an silly large damage spike. I use the GPS heavily on BS and GI and have see such thing happen. I've been pissing on a brute not really hurting it on silver then I get one lucky track into a weak spot and suddenly a chunk of its health is just gone. I see it most with Ravagers and that tricky head spot of theirs.

While it will never give you credit for a head shot kill. It still deals head shot damage if it hits.

Really, in my post the last gun I mentioned was the claymore, thus everything following without chaning gun names would be about that(basic english guys honestly), and then I didn't fully read the reply to my post.
So yes I am busted, but really, so are you guys for not reading mine and seeing that I clearly state the claymore is way better

Ah that's good to know- I was wondering if I was imagining the weak spot registering.

Again you misread my post  ... It was me who was busted for somehow missing the fact your posts were about the claymore even if they were in a GPS thread ...

The GPS might be the 'best' weapon in the game. It is easy to use, has autoaim, ignores Guardian shields and can be charged or not charged, lastly it has a nice stagger effect. I have begn to wonder if people who use it are not being deceived into believing that the class they are playing is very good or in reality the GPS is very good. Simply stated the GPS makes ANY class viable, thus removing the challenge of developing class specific skills in order to improve and better said class. People then have a distorted and inaccurate perception of the classes. I call this the GPS deception.

Shut up for the love of God, please! Let me get my N7 weapons unlocked before you tell Bioware to nerf it you inconsiderate masochist

Lol, I more meant the other guys as well, so all of us were busted. My "Anger" was frustration in all of us for not using english, us internet folks don't use it well

I've killed many a Guardian through their shield with the GPS, it happens, deal with it.

Like many have said, there are a few possible reasons why.
1) You went through the mail slot(With 3 pellets flying at them, it isn't hard to get)
2) You hit their arms or feet, as this does not get covered by the shield, it does normal damage
3) Their shield was knocked away by somebody's power(such as shockwave) and your projecticles actually hit him afterwards while the shield isn't there.
This isn't to say you do 0 damage through the shield, but you do no damage through the shield

Killing Guardian through there shield by using GPS....

1. GPS can't pinpoint specific point.
2. GPS can't penetrate shield.
3. GPS actually kill guardian with shield.

Yes,all of 3 is right.

It is just matter of luck. If GPS's 3 bullet hit small tiny window, these pool guardian will die due to massive GPS' damage with HS bonus.
And we know 'GPS tracking system can't control' ....yes, it is just luck,

GPS does not ignore Guardian shields. It DOES, however, ignore ARMOUR, and the shield gate.

Look, a Guardian's got his shield up. Claymore don't care. Claymore don't give a ****, it just takes what it wants.

I have noticed that a lot of my characters builds uses the GPS. I even tried using the Graal for the headshots, but the lag (I usually search for a quick match) makes me lose too many shots.

Ignores Guardian shields?  What?  It does the exact opposite... it gets stopped in its tracks by guardian shields EVEN IF YOU SHOOT THE GUARDIANS FROM DIRECTLY BEHIND THEM, because it still registers the projectiles as hitting the front of the shield (yay glitchy hitbox).

This thread degenerated, badly.

Stardusk's assertion is correct. The GPS is the best weapon in the game. Period. Any class can equip a GPS and dominate. It has high damage, ignores armor, can stagger, and can be fired across the map. Yes, other guns can do more damage, that doesn't make them better weapons, overall than the GPS. It makes them specialized. The GPS is the jack of all trades. If the GPS did not exist, we would all probably be crying for significant buffs to most of the other weapons and classes in the game. (I am still crying for better weapons.)

I can bust out my human soldier on gold, grab the mattock, and I get to spend the next 25+ minutes clicking the fire button until my finger feels like its falling off. Or I can use the same class, equip a GPS, and suddenly I'm actually killing things, and the 25+ turns into a 25-.

This has nothing to do with aiming, player skill, or team synergy. This is just a case of the GPS being the best general purpose damage dealing weapon in this game. Any class can use it and do well, despite their allies, and however poorly the player specced their class. The GPS is winning the match, not the class, player, or team.

It actually doesn't ignore sheild gate. But having 3 pellets pretty much takes care of it, as 2 of them will get through.

I wouldn't call it the best weapon in the game, but it is a good general purpose weapon.

It only ignores shield gate if it destroys the shield. And on that note, technically most shotguns CAN ignore the shield gate with pellets

I plugged the OP into Google Translate - set the language for "e peen elitist" and this is what it translates to:

"Someone with a lower N7 rating then mine beat my score with the GPS. That can't happen, must go cry to the forums and get GPS nerfed"

I think the "autoaim" is just an illusion based on the fact that there is an animation between the shot and the hit. If you aim at the enemy with a normal gun and the circle is red and you shoot, it will hit the enemy directly. If its red and ur shooting with the GPS the bullets dont hit immediately since there is an animation and if enemies are moving u watch the bullets following the enemy. If the circle isnt red while ur shooting, its still a missed shot. So, there is no autoaim.

The three pellets that the GPS fires are quite wide spread. So when u fire at a Guardian's shield, very often u'll hit the guy in the face through the letterbox with a partial pellet. Then he staggers a bit. U can also aim for the feet. Which makes his shield pointless.

Well it actually actually actually ignores the shield gate completley ....

"confirmed on insanity SP

body shot
1 hp shield

1800 - 704.8191 = 1095.1809
1800 - 724.7155 = 1075.2845

body shot 500 hp shield
1800 - 1278.1179 = 521.8821 (+ 500 = 1021.8821)

body shot 350 hp shield
1800 - 1073.564453125 = 726.435547 (+350 = 1076.43555)

In all my tests all 3 shots hit the target - however if the shield gate were working only 2 should 've affected health (the extreme case was 1 hp shield) - all 3 shots did damage to health

793.53305 * 0.45 * (1 + 0.3 + 0.3) * (1 + 0.35 + 0.225 + 0.05 + 0.15) = 1014.13524 (0.45% base modifier for unchanged shots)

Recorded damage figures however are always a bit higher (because of the continous charge multiplier mechanic)
1800 - 723.9804 = 1076.0196
6850 - 5773.7915 = 1076.2085
..."

That's not a shield gate. The shield gate is damage reduction to any damage after the shield (the blue bar) is destroyed. Which is why if a nemesis or rocket trooper hit you when you have low shields and health you only lose your shields, even if the shot at full damage can take out your entire shield.
