I don't get why everyone uses the Geth Plasma Shotgun. It's not that good. I find its damage abysmal compared to a cloaked sniper rifle headshot. Or any kind of headshot, really.

Edit: Am I missing something? Everyone's talking about how powerful it is... Last I checked, a charged Geth Plasma Shotgun shot does like 3 bars to a Geth Prime on Gold. Whereas with the Black Widow, I can down his shields quicker than the charge time of the GPS. I'm talking about the GPS X.

People use it because you can't miss.

That's a dumb reason if you ask me. I'd understand if some players used it for that reason, but it's one of the most common weapons I see. I guess I underestimated how many people would rather play on easy mode.

Three Geth Infiltrators derpin' around with GPS. I don't know what I hate more, hearing these Cerberus guys yelling "Objective cloaked!" or the near-constant PFFZT sound of GPS being spammed.

FotM gun but hard. This is ridiculous.

You can't miss, it does a great amount of damage, and it's just...yes. Exactly easymode.

You can't miss with the other weapons either (other than the graal), that doesn't make them good, the fallacy of autoaim is starting to get boring, the shotgun doesn't turn your character around or "tracks" enemys if you didn't aim at them in the first place, what many of you call autoaim is just a reduction in pellet spread, if you shoot at someone and they do the "roll out of the way" there is a chance of you missing depending on how soon after the shoot they do it.

About it being the noobtube, for noobs, or carrying clases, etc... so are the carnifex/paladin, bw/valiant and a couple more and you don't see posts complaining about them, may be because they are instant damage guns that never miss if you are aiming at the enemy but since they don't have travel time it's somewhat different from the GPS

The GPS outclasses any of those weapons overall. You can't be serious. It staggers, can be charged. The Carnifex? come on.

Threads like this are full of so much missinformation and gross exaggerations about the GPS.

If you actually believed half of this malarkey you'd likely believe the damn thing fired credits directly into your account.

For the weight, an asari adept is always better off taking the Carnifex over the GPS.  Unless you want more of a challenge.

GPS is for noobs.... did gold 4 LV 1 characters all with GPS X....we demolished gold like it was childs play.... get into cover and you can use 1 hand to play.. no need to chrge the weapon just spam right trigger behind cover = you win....

This gun is the FAMAS of ME.... overpowered and its the only way badkids turn good... i never use the gun personaly cept for that lv 1 gold run we did....

but that should be all the proof you need... if 4 lv 1 characters can demolish gold just cause of that 1 single weapon.... nuff said

Part of the GPS's draw is that it's just easier to use. If you can consistently score headshots with Graal, then I'm not sure why you wouldn't use Graal instead. The only advantage GPS has over Graal (besides being easier to use) is that you can hit multiple enemies with it. But biotic/tech bursts and CC powers already wreck clumped enemies, so that's not a huge draw in my book.

I have a hard time taking you seriously.  It's mainly the lack of any language skills.

Have a link to the video by any chance?

Any class is good with the GPS, even bad players become OK with it.

Didn't we have several of these threads for the Carnifex a month ago? GPS is a great weapon, but whooptidoo. Who cares? I look forward to everyone learning how to use the Kishok or the Hornet or whatever and then calling that easy mode in 3 weeks.

I think the top-tier weapons lower the barrier to entry for, say, silver, but they don't mean you'll excel.  Taking a level 1 to gold with the GPS and surviving is more a sign of you being good and, yes, having a good weapon, rather than having no idea what you're doing and being transported to a world of magic and victories.

It's tied for the best shotgun, but nowhere near the best weapon in the game.

Also, GPS doesn't do crap to big enemies on gold (hell even silver)

Bullcrap! Hit a brute with a PM and then a fully charged GPS shot on silver and you'll drop his health down by a third. That's serious damage.

The Carnifex is just a pistol. No stagger, no charge up. The Carnifex cannot carry a class like the GPS does.

It can however headshot like a boss and destroy because of it

Yet more inane generalizations. These are not characteristics solely attributed to the GPS.

A bad player will still be bad with the GPS. In fact, i've seen several, i've also seen some who are good with it, and one guy who is godly with it(I want to stab him sometimes)

GPS makes human soldier a beast.

It's kind of lackluster against heavies on other classes than human soldier and infiltrators with a debuff power though. Personally I think it's fine. Some of the other weapons need a buff so they can compete.

I haven't tried the GPS yet. In MP I only have it at level 3, I think, I know it's still low.

Is the GPS this good at level 10 in the SP on Insanity with a Soldier?

All the high-end shotguns are really effective in the hands of a SP Soldier shepard thanks to Ammo powers. I alternated between the Wraith and Graal, myself.
