The real GPS deception is when you charge a shot and fire a couple off after right at an enemy 10ft away without doing a single bar of health or any stagger when you obviously didn't miss a single time lol. Happens every few waves.

Didn't we have several of these threads for the Carnifex a month ago? GPS is a great weapon, but whooptidoo. Who cares? I look forward to everyone learning how to use the Kishok or the Hornet or whatever and then calling that easy mode in 3 weeks.

I think the top-tier weapons lower the barrier to entry for, say, silver, but they don't mean you'll excel.  Taking a level 1 to gold with the GPS and surviving is more a sign of you being good and, yes, having a good weapon, rather than having no idea what you're doing and being transported to a world of magic and victories.

The Carnifex is just a pistol. No stagger, no charge up. The Carnifex cannot carry a class like the GPS does.

It sure as hell can. No cool down, and plenty of headshot damage.

I don't get why everyone uses the Geth Plasma Shotgun. It's not that good. I find its damage abysmal compared to a cloaked sniper rifle headshot. Or any kind of headshot, really.

Edit: Am I missing something? Everyone's talking about how powerful it is... Last I checked, a charged Geth Plasma Shotgun shot does like 3 bars to a Geth Prime on Gold. Whereas with the Black Widow, I can down his shields quicker than the charge time of the GPS. I'm talking about the GPS X.

How about I shoot down a Geth prime with 2 clips of my GPS? A charged shot destroys 3/4 of Geth prime shields. But I play a GI.

the GPS might do decent dmg to some targers but it still takes time for the tripple energy balls or w/e you can them to fly to a target and i dont know how many times i saw enemies avoiding them bu making side roll or jumping to the side
besides when i play with my batarian or tuirian soldier with a claymore x with AP rounds i dont care about aiming at the gap in a guardians shield or wait for the shoutgun to charge the shot i can line up 3 guardians and take them all out with a single shot in the middle of the shield and i 1 shot every cerberus infantry but the phantom (2 shots needed) not to mention that the armor of the atlas in gone in 3 shots (aiming at the glass ofc)
i just find the claymore a lot more effective and diverse

It's a easy-to-use weapon that rewards clever aiming over precise aiming.

It's not overpowered. It's just the way you use it.

Also, aiming "in the general direction" of the mail slot in the guardian shield is not easy.... when you have 500 ping minimum like me.

Also, it is a projectile-spawning weapon, which is adversely affected by lag, making shots miss more often than not.

The "auto-aim" you speak of is only "great" when you are the host, and it does't really aim automatically, you have to aim semi-properly

The "auto-aim" mechanic also makes head-shotting harder, which is one of the drawbacks of the GPS.

Far as I understand GPS doesn't headshot at all, as well as cannot not pierce cover no matter the mod/ammo pwr. Though it does seem to get through guardian shields a lot of the time.
Besides using multiple shots when you charge thats really all the negatives.

As I've been playing Gps GI exclusively I can attest to the shotty doing more than it should.

Besides the obvious somewhat locking shots theres been times where I've done aoe damage for sure, killing multiple targets in a bunch. Oh yeah and it ignores shield gate, which is real useful for boss times after a cloaked Proxy mine.

And as for making any class better I suppose thats true. Though most classes have clutch weapons that really up effectiveness. But in this case I would argue the GPS is pretty much made for the geth infiltrator.

Aside from basically turning into a hunter enemy, it turns any pming GI into a death machine. Pure constant Dps from quick cloak recharge and pm debuff dominates anything.
Plus being so close helps with pm triggering, though with the range extending virtues of the Gps I've debuffed from half the map away and killed w/ cloak shot.

Compared to a Black widow setup the Gps GI is doing pretty massive aoe damage vs sing/pentration kills.

Rarely score sub 100k in gold.
Now I'm working on making gps/pm melee build but its a stretch.
