Human Soldier is useless

I went 6/6/0/6/6
AR i went up up down
conc shot up down down
alliance training down up up
and fitness all down for shields.
I use concussive shot a ton, and don't use adrenaline rush too often because it locks out the conc shot for a bit, so if i dont need that I can go for a damage boost especially if there's a lot of enemies grouped together. AR is good to use if you really need the damage reduction bad at the moment, so its a good oh crap button. and sometimes its nice to use if you just dont want to spend the time reloading.
Stick to cover when you can to improve the accuracy of your shots, preventing bullet spread, the gun is known for being inaccurate, but with the stability mod it's really not bad at all, just don't shoot from the hip unless you are like in melee range of something.
It's really fun and I'm having a ton of success with it now, you guys should give it a shot.

Had a lot of trouble versus Geth though. More shields to deal with, harder headshots.

For reference, I have him setup like so:
6 AR - Hardening, Duration, Shield Boost
5 CS - Force & Damage, Recharge Speed
3 FG
6 AT - Damage & Capacity, Power Damage, Weapon Weight
6 Fit. - All shield stuff for max durability
I'm currently using the GPS and Phalanx. Yes, I know, the GPS is probably what makes things so much better, but really... being able to use these two weapons at a 109% recharge speed bonus so that my CS has a 1.86 second cooldown and 4.28 for AR.. rocks.
I basically play him as a running gunner, and AR takes care of those nasty stray bullets that find me any time I'm out of cover. Really, a rocket from a RT does significantly less damage with AR up. It makes a nice "oh crap my shields are down!" button. I only have a 50% damage bonus due to taking the defensive evos in AR, but even just that combined with a charged shot from the GPS can do some nice damage.
CS is pretty awesome as a GTFO move. Since the power and my GPS both have a stagger effect most targets just stand there and take it with no way of escape. Also great for hitting enemies in cover, taking out barriers, knocking down that assault trooper attempting to executing a teammate. I have a lot of fun spamming this whenever my AR isn't up. CS works so well with the rhythm of the GPS.
I put 3 ranks into Frag since the AoE damage comes in handy at times. Its a nice utility for use when enemies are all bunched up. I felt the last rank of CS was worth sacrificing for a couple occasional-use grenades.
Overall, even though I once swore I'd never touch this character, I'm really enjoying him. He's right up there with Gethgineer, Asariguard, and Quarianfiltrator for my all-time favorite characters.

I like soloing atlus, banshees, phantoms, brutes, primes with my HS. Put on disruptor ammo 3ree and have concussion shot @ ~2 seconds with my revenant X and I'm setting off a tech burst with every shot. If i'm needin more pack in my shot I'll put on fire/cryo ammo with a striker, and set everything on fire/ice. EVERYTHING must freez'er'burn! If I wanna pee off a adept, I load warp ammo and set of those biotic expolsions before that fool does BAM!! oh snap, my soldier just "stole" your kill yea! What you mad...?
My Adren'lin turns your Wave 9 bosses to juice son! My Revenant X with Targetin VI3, Fire Ammo 3 be like "BANNANNANNANNANNNANNNANNNNNANNNANANANNANNANNANANAAANANNANNAAA NANNAANAANANNANNAANANNANNANNANNANANNNANNANNANANANANANNNANANANANANANNNANNANA NANANNAAANA......click click click..............reload time-HELL NAA AR IS READY AGAIN!!!!!! - (Shoooooom) - BANNANNANNANNANNNANNNANNNNNANNNANANANNANNANNANANAAANANNANNAAANANNAANAAN ANNANNAANANNANNANNANNANANNNANNANNANANANANANNNANANANANANANNNANNANANANANNAAANA" and they be like, oh no Ronnie don't taze me bro. Yea... I love bathin in that primes white cream... I mean....blood....YEA! Only because unlike a person with no skil.... erm I mean no sense of styl... erm I mean, ... yea...a person who can't see anything in front of they're hand, all I do is Win WIN WIN no matta WHAT! GOT CREDIT ON Mah mine' I can't neva gyet enuff!
Geek mode off:
Seriously though, try playing soldier with different setups and some decent weapons, along with equipment, and it actually brings you back to the brokeness of the quarian sabo days. And just incase ppl don't know, I only play gold... how else would I waste my time?

Heh, that reminds me.
I will admit, I was on a bronze run, but I tossed a frag grenade blind around a corner [bouncing it off the door frame], a rank 1 frag, and some how ended up getting a kill streak.

If you use incendiary ammo on your weapon and you take out enemy mooks shields/barriers, you can fire a concussive shot that will finish them off because of a fire explosion. It works faster than setting up biotic explosions on lesser targets. But biotic explosions are better on bigger targets because they can be used repetitively and with more damage. AR is best used with Striker Assault Rifle because explosive weapons just use pure weapon damage bonuses and not headshot bonuses, add a barrage Upgrade bonus for more ammo and complete weapon stability. I think human soldiers are best at dealing with mooks/ lesser enemies, i wonder if they can clear weaker enemies quicker than power classes (like asari or other biotic specialists), because they don't have to wait for cooldown timers to set of explosions? Correct me if i am wrong.

Yeah. The thread started before buffs to ARush, buffs to guns, better ammo, gear, and a slew of DLC guns.

Well sort of.
With all the release guns and less damage on ARush the Human Soldier wasn't exactly a powerhouse. It was of course worse if you hadn't unlocked any decent guns at all.
I remember when the Harrier came out and it was the hot item on the HSol. Too bad I didn't get it until after Earth came out. Which incidentally was how long it took me to get a Hurricane I as well. ![]()

Ha, back when the commendation weapons were the ultra URs... I remember hating that eagle that kept popping up so, so much! I wanted my hurricane upgrades too! ![]()

Put 4b, 5b, and 6b into concussive shot and whatever you want into everything else. Arm yourself with Disruptor or incendiary ammo. Fire shot from Krysae to prime the target, immediately fire concussive, get TB or FE. You can now fire the second shot from your Krysae to prime the target again and by the time your second shot is off, your CS is ready to go again, resulting in another TB/FE. Third shot, same story. Reload cancel with another concussive or a frag. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Your end result is a lot of electrocuted or toasty dead bodies.

Concussive Shot Rank 6b gives you damage boost towards Organic Enemies. That's a plus already!

He was wrong sort of. We all learned. In the beginning, I used to play human soldier with the Avenger with no armor piercing (mod or ammo) and wondered why the bosses weren't dying ![]()

I think human soldier is essentially supposed to be used in synergy with other characters that can set up fire explosions. Human soldier is essentially a detonator. If you have an engineer in your team who can set up tech bursts or fire explosions, human soldier can detonate huge fire explosions only comparable with sticky grenade and homing grenades. As the word soldier suggests they're strong when they form part of a team, if you use incendiary ammo on your gun you can take out humanoid size enemies with shields concussive shot them, instant kill. If you're fighting bosses, work with someone who uses incinerate and lob a frag every time he incinerates the enemy, the fire explosions are much bigger than engineers can achieve by themselves. and they're more repetitive.

they're much better for attacking small enemies because adrenaline rush damage boost lasts 5+ seconds compared to 2.5 seconds damage bonus after your first shot from tactical cloak (and tactical cloak has a larger cooldown time). Smaller enemies with shields/barriers need to headshot twice with a sniper to get a kill anyway. Tactical cloak benefits against bosses rather than large groups of weak enemies, thats why soldier has to be used with other players to detonate fire explosions.
