Does it really matter? Weapons are place holders for all the classes just about.

Their main purpose is to pester enemies when you cant use powers, and if your class is weapon heavy you arent using a pansy ass pistol anyway.

I have nothing against the Desert Eagle; but, I've never handled one in person.
IIRC, contrary to popular belief, the DE was never the most powerful handgun made.  I believe most say that standard commercial loads of the .454 Casul round are more powerful than even the .50 AE.
The DE is the most powerful autoloading handgun out there; but, there are several revolvers that are more powerful, as they don't have the moving parts at firing time of a semi-automatic, they can be built to take higher pressures and still be reasonably manageable.

Ah but Dirty Harry said .44 magnum was the most powerful handgun in the world, and that was part of why the Desert Eagle was made.  To make an autoloader to reliably feed rimmed magnum rounds, specifically .357 and .44 magnum.  The .50 AE was designed for it after the weapon was already done.  I think the hottest chamber they had for the DE was actually .440 Cor-bon, but that isn't available on current models.

It's interesting as an experiment I suppose.  But it is strange to go back to rimmed when basically every autoloader for the better part of a century was using "rimless" cartridges.  It also is gas operated with something analagous to direct impingement of an AR15, which was deemed necessary for the higher pressure cartridges they were using.

I suppose at the time it was nice to have a .44 magnum in an autoloader, even if relatively high powered rounds are not practical to be fired quickly anyway.  You get an extra 2 shots.  Perhaps I was harsh saying it was the most pointless, but relative to internet and movie love it gets that may be true.

And while I am derailing the thread with more stuff that nobody cares about, the Baby Eagle isn't even related to the Desert Eagle.  It is a Jericho 941, which is more or less related to the CZ75 and can trace its lineage to the Browning Hi-Power.  Actually, I think someone already pointed that out.

You dont understand the point. I believe its a good wep on silver or in sp, but predator is good for EVERYTHING, and its a basic weapon.  Our problem is that the N7 should have been THE most ultimate pistol in the game, but its not.

Everybody who writes Eagle is not a bad weapon, only says that it is good in sp or he/she can beat gold with it, but cant show us one reasonable explanation why is it better then the other pistols/smgs.

That's the exact immense logical fallacy I see people use to defend everything that's underpowered.  They think because they can win with it, it's fine.

People.  It's very simple.  "Underpowered" does not mean "so broken as to not possibly be viable for any player regardless of skill or circumstance".

I was so mad when I opened my second commendation pack. All I wanted was the Valiant to play with. (inb4 I get Eagle III this weekend and rage for 2 weeks...)

then again...after getting the geth smg, i dont really use pistols anymore...

No gun in the game does 0 damage, therefore you could do gold with any gun of any level. You could theoreticaly do gold using only light melee attacks, that however doesn't mean there aren't much much better options available.

Just for the record, I own a MR .357 magnum mark vii Desert Eagle, and they could not have created a pistol more unlike that with their N7 Eagle, even though mine is Magnum Research's most "underpowered" model....

I LOVE the Eagle. It's rate of fire and clip size is awesome.

Because we're not always 3 foot from an ammo box and sitting on 255 thermal clip packs, and pistols don't have a very fast reload animation?

Some of us don't camp by ammo crates and are too busy being hip deep in enemies to run away for ammo.

I find it hilarious that a Predator I does more damage than an Eagle X.

A Katana I also has higher dps than an Eagle X.

Even the new piece of garbage Indra is better at level 1 than Eagle at X.

 Then here. I like the N7 Eagle over most other pistols in the game because its a near 200% recharge weight weapon, has a high ROF, good DPS for being a light weapon. and with the piercing mod can do things EVERY SMG can't, ignore a degree of armor / cover.
I use it on my Human Sentinel and i LOVE it. to all who hate it...well...do use a different weapon then! lmao

N7 Eagle is have a similar coefficient of efficiency with Predator
Eagle have more ammo and auto, but low dmg and RoF.
Predaor have not as much ammo as Eagle have, and no auto, but greater dmg and RoF.

Predator is more like secondary weapon, if you will use it as primary it will spend its ammo very fast (-ammo|+RoF)
Eagle can be a great primary for ability based classes like adepts and engineers. (+ammo|-RoF)
