Who else agrees? I’m going to say the ending was the only thing I didn’t like. But only because they did scenes that made zero sense because they weren’t explained. so for the dlc I would like all the plot holes to be explained I want the how’s and whys.
For future DLC I really want to explore Vancouver,  the team let themselves down by not letting us explore it. They went to trouble of making it, and we're not allowed to explore it!? It was a perfect moment to show off Canadian culture, so I think a longer intro would be awesome and something I’d be happy to pay for.

Your thoughts?

EDIT yea i forget these

I can't agree, OP.

Objectively, I think ME3 is a solid game. ME1 and ME2 were both masterpieces. ME3 doesn't come close to either of them.

Auto-dialogue.
Boring and lazy fetch quests (the overwhelming majority of the quests in ME3)
Awful HUB world running animation
Broken game journal
Eavesdropping dialogue is lame and COMPLETELY uninvolving
Too much in-game dialogue (instead of the cut scene conversations) tells me BW was lazy
Fem Shep automatically flirts with Vega (drove me nuts)
Lack of ME2 cast as squaddies
Priority: Earth is lazy and awful
The endings are an abomination

I'd say it's still a 7.

There's still a lot of 2012 left, so I am hesitant to declare it GotA

But lousy ending and bad character development/writing aside, I was still relatively engaged with the game.

No, i think Bioware dropped the ball on a lot more than just the ending.

1. Autodialogue
2. Sidequests reduced to eavesdropping scanning fetch quests
3. No exploration
4. Bad intro
5. Parts of the game are unfinished
6. Game is much shorter in length than ME2.

1. it is not even half way through 2012 yet and
2. Nope, No game which causes almost unprecedented backlash deserves "Game of the year".

I agree, those elements definitely weren't good IMO as well.  If this was just a new franchise that I hopped into, I would definitely not be as engaged as I was.  The only reason why I cared was b/c I loved the characters from the first two games.

What the people with lists said and add the known bug where Donnelley/ Daniels won't talk to you unless Ash is happy with you to the list... I killed her back in ME1 so she REALLY doesn't like me.

That beginning cutscene for No Man's Land, shows some of Hammer team fighting husks. I'm sure most of you remember that. But you'll also notice that the guns don't make any sound when they fire in this cutscene. This is 1 example of what i mean when i say the game is unfinished and was probably rushed at the end.

It doesn't deserve to get nominated.

Hmmm let think about GOTY and other award for a sec. There thousand of them from every website, magazine and award show. Canadian Video Game Award, VGA and so on.

There like what? A small % that Mass Effect 3 will not win game of the year from one of them.

EDIT: I forgot. Podcast also give Game of The Year too.
 GOTY mean nothing.

@Roguekad. Why are you not fixing it with Gibbed Editor? It work on both xbox and pc and is really easy to use.

We're only in April, we still got the awesome autumn left with all the games that will come out at that time. ME3 is solid but it's far from GOTY material for me

Simply: no.

My bet is that AC3 or Bioshock: Infinite will probably step and sweep up GOTY in most of the gaming press.

Two thirds of the year left. Plenty of time for someone to release a game that hasn't put the most crucial part of their story in the hands of journeyman writers.

Sidequests for the characters, where did they go? I liked doing missions that retained to characters, because I felt like I was actually impacting them. All I got was little cutscenes with them, which weren't bad, but still.

Yes, lack of exploration was a huge letdown. If it wasn't for the N7 missions, the sidequests would have been as dull as DA2.

Intro was terrible because the writers forgot to include an important detail in ME2, that's why it was rushed and had tons of auto dialouge. That important detail was how are we going to stop the reapers.

I don't think it was a great game, it was fun for the most part but if we wanted to sit and pick holes we could do so in pretty much every aspect of it because there was a lot that was average. It may win goty because it is made by Bioware and because it is Mass Effect but I don't think it deserves it. Though I thought that The Witcher 2 was better than Skyrim and it was Skyrim that won all the awards, so who knows what they are actually judged on.

Diablo 3, Max Payne 3, Assassin's Creed 3, Far Cry 3, Metro Last Light, Prototype 2 are all due this year and presumably Hitman Absolution and Bioshock Infinite too so I think there is a potentially a lot out there to choose from. I'm personally looking forward to Dishonored.

For me, it's GOTY so far, but as stated, the year is far from over.

From the games that were released this year so far - maybe. Just maybe. But there is no chance to be that in the end of the year. Ending is awful but even the rest of the game (and 2 missions is not the whole game) does not deserve.
