Assassin's Creed 3, Max Payne 3, Diablo 3, Halo4 and Bioshock Infinite are all huge titles.

Last years line up of skyrim, arkham city, witcher 2, mass effect 3, deus ex HR and portal 2...so much better

Uh, Mass Effect 3 was this year.  And personally, I'm more excited for AC3, Bioshock Infinite and Max Payne 3 than I was for any of the above mentioned games except Arkham City.

I hope the title goes to Darksiders II . I can't wait to get my hands on that . The first one was already awesome .

 I just can't agree, for pretty much the same reasons as everyone has pointed out so far.

It also irks me that BioWare love to parae around their "75 PERFECT SCORES!" when the game was far from perfect, and had a whole bunch of flaws.

Either every "professional reviewer" who granted perfect scores to the game were asleep that day, or they were bought and paid for...

And I don't know which is worse.

So no, I don't think ME3 is even remotely deserving of a GotY award.

No, Mass Effect 3 is far away from the GOTY, even from the runner ups.

Let's be honests, wasn't ME3 made by Bioware or one of the big ones in this industry, it will be massacrated in some aspects of the game. Quest system is completely broken, .gif background characters, dumbed down mechanics and more.

The gameplay aspect really evolved from the first two games, but not even this and Mordin's redemption in Tuchanka couls save the game for a lot of issues and bad rep.

99% of this game is better than 100% of any other games that have and will be released. Even w/ the ending controversy, this is certainly game of the year.

And honestly, without the possibly botched ending, we wouldn't have the greatest video game meme ever: Marauder Shields.

AC3 will be a fairly large departure from Brotherhood and Revelations, new protaganist, new engine and new time period.  I'm super psyched about it.  Though there's always the chance they blow up the trilogy like ME3 did.

I'd argue Max Payne is know as much for its gritty noir story and style as much as bullet time.  Not to mention, Rockstar?  Enough said for me.  

I can get Bioshock being too dark for some.  Myself, I'm very excited that the team that did Bioshock is doing Infinite and they've had a ton of time to make a polished game.

No way. There are other high end games coming out this year too and ME 3 won't stand a chance against them. It's not just the ending of ME 3 that is bad, the entire game seems rushed and thrown together. Out of all the ME games, 3 is the worst, and those games never made goty either.

There are multiple game of the year awards given out by multiple sources. Given how much official magazines and sites have been jerking off to Mass Effect 3, it's bound to win at least one.

From the looks of some of these so far, the bolded ones especially (not sure about Black Ops 2 though, is is announced yet?) it's going to have some stiff and likely superior competition. 

It'll be nominated, that's a guarantee, but I don't think it'll win.

If Bioware gets rewarded for releasing a buggy unfinished game with the woest ending in the history if the medium, that is in almost every way inferior to the previous installments, the gaming press will finally graduate from appearing to be paid off to obviously paid off.

HEY...... Take Final Fantasy 13-2 off that list..... Jesus that game was horrible in every way possible, even the localization was pretty bad and that is shocking considering Square-Enix used to be good at that. But Atlas has that honor now, poor Squaresoft, Square-Enix keeps defiling your corpse.

All The AC games have a better ending than ME3! and Bioshock Infinite doesnt seem that dark right know, definetly not like Bioshock 1 and 2!

I'll give you the rockstar label. Take two has done me a few solids in the past.
I'll also give you the longer than average dev time on bioshock.

Ac3 is not a trilogy, they are milking that puppy for all she's worth. Yearly releases are call of duty territory.
