You forgot Guild Wars 2, but then I guess it doesn't have a release date yet, they just say, sometime this year. But it will definitely be a contender too.

HEY...... Take Final Fantasy 13-2 off that list..... Jesus that game was horrible in every way possible, even the localization was pretty bad and that is shocking considering Square-Enix used to be good at that. But Atlas has that honor now, poor Squaresoft, Square-Enix keeps defiling your corpse.
Never liked Final Fantasy but some other people do.
Yea. I was a fan of FF during the glory days FF6-10, I still love many other JRPG IP's tho.

The most obvious bet for me is Borderlands 2, scheduled for September. Diablo 3 will bring more of the same old, same old, but even that might be enough to beat ME3. Assassin's Creed series seem to have taken a slight turn downwards, but the new release may still kick a**.

I consider me3 a 2011 game. It was originally penned for an xmas release. come now whats a few months meh.
Assasins creed seems to come out yearly, max payne is famous for bullet time innovation and not much else, I have a personal issue with the bioshock franchise although I loved andrew ryans speech, the series is a bit too dark for my tastes.
AC3 will be a fairly large departure from Brotherhood and Revelations, new protaganist, new engine and new time period. I'm super psyched about it. Though there's always the chance they blow up the trilogy like ME3 did.
I'd argue Max Payne is know as much for its gritty noir story and style as much as bullet time. Not to mention, Rockstar? Enough said for me.
I can get Bioshock being too dark for some. Myself, I'm very excited that the team that did Bioshock is doing Infinite and they've had a ton of time to make a polished game.
I'll give you the rockstar label. Take two has done me a few solids in the past.
I'll also give you the longer than average dev time on bioshock.
Ac3 is not a trilogy, they are milking that puppy for all she's worth. Yearly releases are call of duty territory.
4 Main series
4.1 Assassin's Creed
4.2 Assassin's Creed II
4.3 Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
4.4 Assassin's Creed: Revelations
4.5 Assassin's Creed III5 Other games
5.1 Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles
5.2 Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines
5.3 Assassin's Creed II: Discovery
5.4 Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy
5.5 Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy
5.6 Assassin's Creed: Multiplayer Rearmed
5.7 Assassin's Creed Vita6 Future7 Other media
7.1 Assassin's Creed: Graphic Novel
7.2 Assassin's Creed Vol. 1: Desmond
7.3 Assassin's Creed Vol. 2: Aquilus
7.4 Assassin's Creed Vol. 3: Accipiter
7.5 Assassin's Creed: Lineage
7.6 Assassin's Creed: Renaissance
7.7 Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
7.8 Assassin's Creed: The Secret Crusade
7.9 Assassin's Creed: The Fall
7.10 Assassin's Creed: Ascendance
7.11 Assassin's Creed: Embers
7.12 Assassin's Creed: Encyclopedia
7.13 Assassin's Creed: Revelations
7.14 Appearances in outside media
7.15 Film[/list]
Actually AC is a trilogy in essence. There are only going to be 3 main games and 3 main characters that could stand alone according to the devs. Just because there's a lot of media that fills in the gaps doesn't really change that. And the series is brilliant as opposed to CoD with a rich and deep lore.
Either way, with AC the timing of the releases hasn't diminished they're quality. AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations are better than 99% of the games out there. Given that they have been developing AC3 concurrently with Brotherhood and Revelations, took the engine from the ground up, and are making significant changes to the gameplay, I'm quite excited about it.

That is one thing I will never get.
I think the AC series is great, loved the first, loved the second, loved Brotherhood (and its DLC), but haven't played Revelations (even though I heard it was great albeit short).
Assassins Creed 3 isn't made by the same people, Brotherhood and Revelations were made by a different team while the numbered games in the series is made by the main team. AC3's engine also looks amazing.
Call of Duty on the other hand is the same game with a reskin each year.

Noble 6 deserves a better endin- Oh wait wrong forum

Meh. The only competition I see for ME3 is Daiblo 3, Bioshock Infinite, and Halo 4. As much as people like AC it never wins GOTY.
I played the diablo 3 beta and was unimpressed. Im new to the series though, and people tell me its best played with friends.
Its looking like me3 will get rpg of the year at the very least, Unless they count the rerelease of witcher 2

Halo was supposed to be a trilogy. Look how that turned out. I doubt Assassin's Creed III will be the last of these games.Capeo wrote...

Campaign will be great but with more news of the multiplayer coming out it is sounding like a CoD clone (from the multiplayer definitely NOT the campaign)

Actually you forgot one. The Conrad Vernor bit on the Citadel was probably one of my favorite bits, but other than that there isn't much.

I'm not saying it will be. They can do anything with it (bring it into the future, etc.) but this one should be the end of this arc given that the world is supposed to end in 2012 in the game so they have to avert it in AC3.

Don't be surprised when this game does win some GOTY awards. No doubt it will also be nominated for GOTY by every gaming media outlet.
