hmmm didnt think people would be like this i guess bioware is starting to lose its hardcore fanbase. but i suggest you all reserve judgement until more detials on DA3 come out!

Give it the "Wasted Potiential" Award. Besides, Diablo III is game of the year. Played the Beta to death... It's just as Blizzard promised and more.

The ending not only destroyed the series, it destroyed their chances of GotY.

The ending outrage has been funny as it's drawn all the attention away from the rest of the game for a while. Now that people are calming down they're starting to notice all the other problems and plot flaws in other parts of the game. The game is good but sadly unlike it's predecessors not good enough for a chance at GotY.

I've already made up my mind that I won't be buying DA3 after DA2. I skeptical about ME3 but still bought it because they said DA had a different team. No more Bioware games for me.


looks like Bethesda and Valve are the only ones that are not on my "do not buy" list.


Ubisoft -> Added after ruining rainbow 6 series.
Blizzard-> Added after SC2. years of "balancing" still ended up released unbalaced like hell.
Activition -> I don't buy anything from them anyway.
Bioware -> Added after ruining ME and insulting their fans.

I'm sorry to say that the epically failed ending of ME3 is the very reason why the game will not be a strong contender in the race for GOTY 2012.
BioWare still has one chance to fix this - they really do. But will they?

yes the auto diologue being one of them not to mention femshep doent really have a good chose of romances dispointed that they made kaiden bi but not ashley my sister is full on gay and she goes to church!

If ME3 is GOTY then it will be saying more about how poor the competition was, rather than how good ME3 was, IMO.

It was a decent game, outside of the ending. But I think if I'd come at ME3 without having played the rest of the series, I wouldn't have considered it more than that.

Objectively, I think ME3 is a solid game. ME1 and ME2 were both masterpieces. ME3 doesn't come close to either of them.

Auto-dialogue.
Boring and lazy fetch quests (the overwhelming majority of the quests in ME3)
Awful HUB world running animation
Broken game journal
Eavesdropping dialogue is lame and COMPLETELY uninvolving
Too much in-game dialogue (instead of the cut scene conversations) tells me BW was lazy
Fem Shep automatically flirts with Vega (drove me nuts)
Lack of ME2 cast as squaddies
Priority: Earth is lazy and awful
The endings are an abomination

I'd say it's still a 7.

I agree with all of this. Playing my femShep through now and the flirting with Vega is annoying. She's a lesbian who's in love with a blue-skinned alien woman, for goodness' sake! I keep having to imagine she's just making fun of him. But yeah, only one hub, uninvolved fetch quests (even for fetch quests, these are pretty bare-bones), and side-missions which are just lead-ins for multiplayer (cool from multiplayer point of view, thin and weird from singleplayer point of view). Anyway, yes, I'd still give it a 7, just because the mechanics are still fun and I like the characters. At least the main plotline missions are pretty good (up until the return to Earth). Tuchanka is the one really stand out sequence for me.

It probably won't get GotY but it will probably be my pick.

It's way to early to tell. Diablo 3 has a chance. I hate to say it, but Halo 4 has a chance. If either of those games are consistent, even if they do not compare to Mass Effect 3, the huge negative that is the ending will put them above ME3. Not to mention, Diablo 3 has been on peoples list for longer than Mass Effect has been around and we all know how many Halo fanboys there are.

No. It had maybe two hours of GOTY material. The rest was mediocre, and 3 of the last 4 missions were downright awful, and the quality of the ending was abysmal.
