Knowing how the trilogy ultimately ends, would you recommend a newbie to play all 3 games?

Yes...

...but with a warning that she shouldn't become heavily emotionally invested in pretty much anything.

Hell yeah they need to play it! Just let them know that there is an extended ending DLC coming out this summer.

I told my friends that ME3 ending will leave you unsatisfied to a great extent ...otherwise if your are curious try how the story works out ... go ahead try ME1 and ME2

I'd still recomend it: though I'd add two large asterixs:
- one: buy them all used, so as to not contribute funds to EA
- And Two: you run th risk of feeling like you wasted all your time due to the craptastic endings.

You guys are being ridiculous. Everything you've gained out of this series since 2007 and you're going to deny somebody that over some silly ending in the third game?

The endings in the first 2 were fine. The journey of the 3rd was amazing. What a silly thread

No, the inability to understand that a work is judged as a whole is both blind and moronic thus it would be irresponsible of me to recommend it

Oh look, i can insult others subtly (or at least in ways that i would think is subtle) too!

So unless a work is completely flawless from start to finish, you cannot ever recommend it? Good luck with that.

Seriously people, cry some more. (Was that not subtle?)

yes, but let them know the ending first. Knowing the future, changes the future.

I told my friends that if they wanted to play it just borrow mine. I dont recomend buying it. I imagine it would take some of the sting out of the ending if they didnt drop a ton of cash on the series.

100 hours of enjoyable game play for $90? Sounds like something I'd recommend.

Yes, I actively try to get my friends to play the entire series, but I also caution them that a lot of people dislike or even hate the ending (I'm not one of them though).

Oh dear, you poor boy. Someone didn't teach you that judging a work as a whole != flawless required?

By the way that "!=" means "not equal" in case you didn't understand

Precisely. Which is why any REASONABLE person would realize that the Mass Effect series as a whole is a phenomenal piece of gaming.

Your special symbols hurt me. My tiny rational brain cannot comprehend them.

I would.

I might warn them about the endings, but I'd also warn them to stay away from the BSN....

Yes, anyone who dismisses an otherwise superlative trilogy, despite its faults, on the basis of the last five minutes is just being infantile.

Pass me my infantile sign then.

Sure I'll recommend it.They are excellent games. Just buy Mass Effect 3 used because the ending will ****** you off and you may not want to replay it.

ME1 and ME2 ... why not ? they are still very good games (I managed to play them without being completely disgusted as it is the case with ME3). I would advice however to stay far away from ME3

Ahh and I would advice towards buying used copies of ME1 and ME2... just in case, so that EA does not get more money.

My boy, i'm glad you learn that "phenomenal piece of gaming" not equal "flawless" required. Keep it up and you might understand what it means to judge a work as a whole.

Oh i'm so sorry, i forgot that trying to comprehend symbols makes your brain hurt. Just to help you, i've changed the symbols in my response to words.

I'd ask them if they can compartmentalize about bad storytelling. If yes, go ahead. If no, don't.
