Besides, why do people show too much concern on the starkid?ME delivered clearly that there is so much unknown in the galaxy. Why you can't accept him in this way?

My problem with starkid was that its inclusion was so incredibly arbitrary. It had no relevance in the Mass Effect trilogy and quite frankly made me think Shep was going high from blood loss.
That and it made such a black and white situation out of something that should have been grey.

Maybe. I think it's awesome they're doing it, but am still holding out hope for the Indoctrination Theory.

Go into stealth mode and infiltrate their headquarter. Then you will know it.

Nope. And by the time it comes out my interest in ME 3 will be completely dissolved. In fact it's pretty much there already. I just check these forums when I"m bored and need some controversy. :)

You may add some description but try to keep it short. So that any Bioware employee potentially going through this can get a sense of what the consensus is based on the information given.

I say No.
The ending is too damaged for an Extended Cut to fix it. It needs to be retconned.

Right now I wish the Extended Cut fixed every single problem and made the ending awesome as the Mass Effect series deserves it. But after BioWare's comments about how the current ending will be left in the game because it's the team's artistic vision (apparently an unfinished and poorly written ending is now artistic vision) and only clarified, I have doubts that it will fix anything. To be honest, you can pour gallons of sugar over the three equally disgusting choices in the end, they'll still be there, as horrible as ever. You can try to fix the plotholes with cutscenes and even dialogue, but you can hardly repair stuff that's completely broken (like the crewmembers being completely emotionless and not giving a damn about Shepard when stepping off the Normandy, or the fact that the space magic expands at different speeds depending on from where you look at it). All the nonsense will still be there.

That said, for me my reception of the Extended Cut will decide whether or not I'll be buying any more BioWare products in the future. I've been a fan of BioWare's work since KotOR and even got myself the Baldur's Gate games now, and I've been a loyal customer for years who has purchased not only many games but also loads of DLC. In my understanding of the situation, despite the PR BS we were fed, the ending was rushed and doesn't in any way represent anyone's artistic vision. BioWare now have a chance to make it right, as they were pretty much forcefully given more development time by their fans, time they should have had before the game was released.

I won't vote on something I haven't yet seen. Right now, I would prefer a retcon. However, the EC might cover everything well enough for me to accept it.

Yes, from what I've seen.

I didn't hate the ending, I just hated the unresolved issues.

Regardless of what ending there is, the series still has to end in the same few ways. I don't know why people want the indoc theory to be true, when it doesn't actually provide an ending - shepard just wakes up and the war keeps going that earth can't really win.

Unknown.

We are still reaching a consensus on this matter.

No one will know until the EC is released.

No.

The problem is the central plot arc and it would be a massive undertaking to fix that, so they will not be able to.

95% likely a NO.

I can't be 100% sure till it comes out but so far what they've said about it is leading to a no.

I do not know what your problems with the central arc are but I think the main problem is the introduction of major plot elements in the closing instanes of the story- this can easily and readily be fixed. Perhaps you are refferring to something other.

No way unless they substantially change the ending or at least substantially change some elements of the ending.

As it is right now, it's impossible to explain all the contradiction, plot holes, Shepard's and Catalyst's motivations (they both have no reason to agree to any of the three given compromises) without some kind of plot twist (IT or confirming that Catalyst is a liar).

Well, if it had to be yes/no then: no.

But honestly, they haven't told us anything about what will actually be in the DLC. I NEED closure for the various characters/races; I need to know what happened post-Reaper War. I may get that (BioWare had promised closure), I might not (they've broken promises already). And I'm pretty sure whatever they create won't address every concern.

Will the DLC solve all my problems? No.
Will it solve the most important ones? IDK, maybe.

From what BioWare have been saying: No change to endings, just extra cut-scenes to explain them better then....

NO. Absolutely not.

A polished turd is still a turd.

It reminds me a bit of Dragon Age: Origins, when everyone wanted to know what happened to Morrigan, so they release an overpriced DLC that lasted 30 minutes and was complete drivel.

Not only that, by the time it comes out, I'm sure most people, myself included, will have traded it in and moved on to something else.

I think people just need to let it go now. The ending will never be properly "fixed" and anytime I think of the Mass Effect series, all I'll remember is the unsatisfactory conclusion.
