I want a simple Yes or No answer. WILL the Extended Cut solve your problems with the ending?

No

Starbrat has to go:
Entire plot of the game is replaced in the last 5 minutes with a ridiculous premise that makes no sense in this story.
Starbrat is a nonsensical deus ex machina contrivance that doesn't fit with the rest of the story
The ending options are stolen from an entirely different game and make no sense with the rest of the story
Synthesis being the worst offender. Synthetic DNA? A wave of energy that just spontaneously generates matter in whatever lifeform it touches? Not just matter, but complicated matter like circuitry and organic tissue? And all because Shepard jumps into a beam? IT'S STUPID!
Unsatisfying conclusion that doesn't follow from anything you've done, and replaces your character as the protagonist of the story with a character that is introduced in the last 5 minutes.

Use IT, or just retcon it out. But with the starbrat still in, the ending cannot work.

no. the damage is done and they can turn purple explaining it, it won't fix it.

I expect yes.

I can deal with narrative choices I don't agree with. That just is what it is.

The even larger problem to me was the abruptness of the ending, the way it just cuts out before explaining or revealing any pertinent information.

So if the Extended Cut just solves that problem, I'll be a lot happier.

This. Many times, this.

Impossible to know.

It doesn't look promising though, unless they have something else up their sleeve (I.T.?)

It could, yes, and feasibly. The big thing to remember is that we have no idea what it'll actually contain, how long it will really be, whether gameplay will be involved ... anything. Saying yay or nay at this point amounts to nothing but a blind, knee-jerk guess.

Depends on what the EC will deliver.
If it will just add lousy 10 minutes cinematics that just explains the stupid ending, then no.
If it will add something new or change anything from the current ending, then perhaps.
But option 1 is far more likley to happen.

I don't know yet.

We do know they aren't going to remove star-brat nor the 3-color endings, with that in mind:
1- Fix Star-Brats illogical arguments
2- Give each ending some differentiation and more explanation of what it does and aftermath. How is the galaxy going to rebuild.
3- Delete Joker's crash landing please
4- Closure with our crew & Shepard (live or die) We care about our crew & friends, show what happens to all of them left alive. Show us how they move on post-war.

The above is pretty much the minimum to get a "better" ending. Though I'd rather have a totally new ending, keeping Anderson's death & the final squad good-bye talks, more like the Suicide mission in ME2.

I don't know how so many of you can be saying no without even SEEING the EC. It's free, give it a chance. Be skeptical if you want, but come on, Bioware, for all they've ever done, at least deserves th chance.

No - You can't fix broke with clarity because all you get is a clearer picture of why it is broken.

No. It's simply not possible without making it an entirely new ending.

Yes, it is possible that it will at least solve enough of them for me to be able to put up with it. Of course it may not.

No, it will not solve all my problems with the endings and the most I'm expecting is something that makes me go "Oh well, may as well have another playthrough and see if any future DLC is worth buying" (which is probably the aim of it). The best I'm hoping for is that it will make the ending possible to ignore and forget.

I would have to agree with this.  If starchild stays it won't make me happy.

Bioware ****ed up, but they refuse to admit it. Theyd rather stick to their Autistic Integrity of an ending that a **** ton of us expressed our feelings towards, best thing I can say is download extended cut then depending on how it plays, give EA/Bioware the finger at all future products. After bull****ting us for 3 years I can't believe **** they say about anything. They ruined thier own Integrity at the cost of autistic Integrity(yes I ment to say autistic).

While not a complex question, it's not as cut-and-dry simple either, as we don't know what the Extended Cut DLC will contain. However, basing soleley on, "... we are not changing the current ending" and our favorite word, "clarifying"....

They can't expect us to like it.

The Central Conflict of the Mass Effect story is "Shepard's fight against the Reapers". It is NOT about the current cycle's galactic technological civilization's (Asari, Salarians, Turians, Humans, etc. as a whole) "jump" or "advancement" from a Tier II to a Tier III civilization (on the Kardashev Scale).

Will it have the missing 13 endings?    ( Technically it had 3 even though it was the same one with a different tint. )

Will any of my choices have mattered?

Will it get rid of Space-Hitler-Jesus?

If the answer to ANY of these questions is no...

... Then I have no interest in it and they are just pissing against the wind.
